NHS Scotland links to Eunuch Archive

The Lead Clinician of the National Gender Identity Clinical Network for Scotland just gave evidence to the Scottish Govt committee on Gender Reform this morning.

The NGICNS links to WPATH documents for information.

www.ngicns.scot.nhs.uk/information/wpath/

One of these is documents is titled 'Eunuch'. This is a pdf that includes a link to the 'Eunuch' Archives, which WPATH describes as the source of the 'greatest wealth of information' on eunuch identified people.

The Eunuch Archives have been investigated by reporters from Reduxx. Reduxx seems to be down at the moment, but their article is archived here:

OMG I'm speechless. You cannot trust these people to make policy, they seem incapable of even basic research. Unless they have done their research and know exactly what they are doing. It doesn't matter whether they are sinister or stupid this needs bringing to a wider audience so it can be put a stop to.

Hagiography · 14/06/2022 14:24

Yes, indeed.

Either they are so sloppy they are willing to signpost to organisations like 'The Eunuch Archive' without checking them first, or they are aware of what the content is. I'm hoping its the former and will go with Hanlon's Razor, however it doesn't inspire confidence.

Has there been any attempt at due diligence before linking to those archives?

I should be impervious to the fact that highly credentialed people are content to attend public hearings like this with negligible preparation but I'm not. Given the nature of the archives, I'm shocked.

Clangyleg · 14/06/2022 15:08

Omg

Unbelieveable.

Hagiography · 14/06/2022 15:55

WPATH are highly problematic. I'm genuinely shocked at how they are still referred to as a reputable source.

The NHS list WPATH as a resource in their pdf document on 'Gender dysphoria services: a guide for General Practitioners and other healthcare staff', but do not include a hyperlink to 'Eunuchs', as the NGICNS do here.

I can't seem to link to that document (maybe as it's a pdf download) but if you google 'NHS livewell transhealth' it should come up with the above title.

Meg John Barker wrote the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy good practice guide for gender and sexual diversity.

That's where I believe she - sorry, they - described northern women as more aggressive than us softy southerners.

Hagiography · 14/06/2022 16:54

Ooh, yes, I remember that. Assigned Northern at Birth.

I had to stop reading that reduxx article. It's just unbearable

WarriorN · 14/06/2022 17:23

Here's an article by Glinner, referencing Transgender trend and Shelly Charleston which features Meg John and the head psychologist of the Tavistock, who is a transwoman.

I spelt his name incorrectly above but I have posted the link above to Graeme Lineman’s very recent interview with Genevieve Gluck on the Eunuch Archives.

Hagiography · 16/06/2022 07:08

Good to see the Telegraph pick this up, but I feel I should get some sort of free pass to read the article.
