I know Rachel Riley has faced a lot of crap before.

She did that with both feet.

Imagine giving a flying fuck what Cohen thinks about anything? No, me neither.

He is happy to use a woman's reproductive system for surrogacy but doesn't want women to be allowed to express their own opinions on what happens to their bodies.

Riley says she supports trans rights but she also thinks there are sometimes conflicts between trans rights and women’s rights. Obviously, for thinking this, she is now unmentionable. 🙄

Again, what Simon Fanshawe has said recently about anyone who says "as a ..." is a good point. If anyone says "as a ..." it apparently makes their point more important because of their identity and not because of the point being made. It's an attempt to win arguments based off of identity politics.

And listening to Cohen on "Nolan investigates Stonewall" showed him up to be incredibly incompetent.

100% this. I've followed RR for some time on twitter because of her brave stance on antisemitism, and the abuse she gets is off the scale. The woman has ovaries of steel and I doubt she jumped into this debate without knowing what the response would be.

I had no idea Rachel Riley was so outspoken and straightforward. More power to her elbow. JKR’s going to have to book the Albert Hall for her next cancelled women’s knees-up. 😄

I've been following her on twitter for a long time too. She's smart and I doubt she's gone into this without a lot of thought.

As for BC.... you can fight antisemitism and still be a misogynist, you can fight misogyny and still be an antisemite. Historically though it's interesting to note how often these two went hand in hand - particular as expressed by the church when it was claiming that only IT had the power to give the kind of life that REALLY mattered. i.e. New life in christ, given at baptism - replacing the meaningless, merely physical, life given by women, and a new set of scriptures replacing the "old" set of Judaism.

of course the psychology of men using women for surrogacy is interesting in this context too...... 🧐
