In trans activist circles, referring to Wispa chocolate bars is code for harassing GC women:

Thanks tabbycat, you’re much more observant than I am!

NoviceNetwork · 05/05/2022 12:00

Sorry to be a pain but could someone tell me how we can access the bundle. I'm not very tech savvy and can't see where I can find it.

yourhairiswinterfire · 05/05/2022 12:02

Is IO suggesting that SK (?) calling Allison 'the terfy barrister' and saying ''don't let her get away with this'', was not encouraging complaints against her, but simply encouraging messages of support for GCC? 🤨

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/05/2022 12:02

If you've just joined you could ask for the link to be reposted in the chat box, judge said yesterday that that is an appropriate use of it.

'Is IO suggesting that SK (?) calling Allison 'the terfy barrister' and saying ''don't let her get away with this'', was not encouraging complaints against her, but simply encouraging messages of support for GCC? 🤨'

Yes. That's not going to fly, I suspect.

Pluvia · 05/05/2022 12:05

Now the issue of Mr Knan who was on the Stonewall Trans Advisory Group being offered space at GCC to hold a meeting at which AB alleges he encouraged attendees to write letters supporting Stonewall/ trans issues, which involved criticism of her.

Lots of quibbling but I think Allison's getting the story over very clearly, that Knan was given space to hold a meeting at which he solicited support for STAG/ Stonewall, that he was personally hostile to her and took measures such as putting her up on 'the Wall' for vilification.

This case is so much more difficult to precisely/ document because almost every statement is fought over. No idea how Tribunal Tweets are handling it.

nauticant · 05/05/2022 12:06

Look for Emily Battcock (Doyle Clayton) at 11.22 in the chat box NoviceNetwork under which you'll find a number of links including "Non-downloadable supplemental bundle". Unless you've only recently joined the session.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/05/2022 12:09

She's just this second reposted it

theemperorhasnoclothes · 05/05/2022 12:10

I find it difficult if there's email evidence as AB described that there could be any possible interpretation of SK's actions as only 'encouraging messages of support for GCC'.

It must have been awful for Allison to read this type of thing during discovery.

They really believe they're invincible and that discrimination law doesn't apply to them don't they? I mean who puts that kind of stuff in an email. And if they put it in an email, written down and the evidence is there to prove it, who could possibly believe that they didn't say that, and worse probably, in meetings. It's not credible.

ickky · 05/05/2022 12:16

I think AB is coming across so well, she is so resolute.

If I murder anyone, I want her as my barrister.

Noted.

theemperorhasnoclothes · 05/05/2022 12:21

She's doing remarkably well not to get angry or upset.

So 21% (IIRC) of her gross income went to support the cost of the chambers meeting rooms etc and then these were then offered and used for free by at least one person who made slurs and threats against her written down in emails.

I'd be fuming and then some.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 05/05/2022 12:22

The endless discussion about the pronouns in the screen names is so embarrassing.
The Judge and Mr Reuby have mentioned it so many times now.

We're not at school, so why can't people take this hearing seriously and grow the f*ck up??

Mine will only eat roast chicken and vintage cheddar.

Corn-fed organic chicken, obviously

😄

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/05/2022 12:24

If I ever want to talk about anything contentious which might end up in court, I'm going to insist on a phone conversation rather than make unprofessional comments with colleagues via slack, WhatsApp, email and text on work channels.

😂😂😂

This was in no way intended as any admission of guilt.

Just tuned in. I can’t believe the gall of people abusing the chat function !!

nauticant · 05/05/2022 12:28

The chat is going a bit mad at the moment over pronouns. I guess EJ is going to have to very wearily return to this issue.

nauticant · 05/05/2022 12:29

X-post!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/05/2022 12:29

People are treating it like a livestream chat on YouTube

Zeugma · 05/05/2022 12:29

Allison isn’t afraid to use silence and when she’s made her point, she stops speaking. That’s coming across well in contrast to the hectoring and slightly blustery demeanour of IO.

But that’s just imho and IANAL.

Well, quite, this is the shocking thing. Discrimination is difficult to prove if it's all off the record. However in this case it wasn't all off the record, it was in writing.

If they feel so unassailable that they'll do this to an actual barrister what chance do women who aren't barristers have to retain their rights as human beings? Surely they won't let us 'get away with this' (having opinions different to theirs).

ickky · 05/05/2022 12:30

The chat is embarrassing.

I know I am joking on here, but I wouldn't dream of doing it in a live court case chat.
