With an 'The Office' style close up of the actress's face when she says it!

The tasteful rainbow unicorn display made me laugh out loud. That bit has to be in the movie.

Emphasis on the "tasteful" 😂

Even IO couldn't keep a straight face about the poxy unicorn.

chilling19 · 04/05/2022 15:38

Not sure where this is going

nauticant · 04/05/2022 15:45

Neither do I but AB was just given the opportunity to point out that the communications between GCC and Stonewall identified campaigning for the whole LGBTQAI+ group, and for trans in particular, but nothing for LGB. IO responded with a sustained period of silence.

chilling19 · 04/05/2022 15:46

Allison is certainly getting her points across, that is for sure.

Chrysanthemum5 · 04/05/2022 15:48

I had to leave for a bit - what was the rainbow display?

nauticant · 04/05/2022 15:49

IO tried to win her point by saying that LGB events were specified, ie Pride and Coming Out Day.

ickky · 04/05/2022 15:51

I have never been to a Pride event, but have seen in recent years that Lesbians don't seem to be welcome there anymore. A lot of hostility. A Gay man was forced to leave for his own safety etc.

Stonewall have side-lined the LGB, I think that is clear.

I’m just skimming through Allison Bailey’s witness statement (from here twitter.com/peter_daly/status/1521844793696997376?s=21&t=mZQDfGOY-bNRAK1Et-HkdQ ) and point 126 (Stephen Lue’s question) has left me gobsmacked. WTF? That’s the quality of training being given to barristers????

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 04/05/2022 15:57

Chrysanthemum5 · 04/05/2022 15:48

It's referred to in email correspondence. I think it's a table display. It was a moment of comedy genius.

Pride is an LGBTQ++ event. It includes all sorts of kink abs fetish. Some lesbians go but many don't anymore. I used to volunteer at the London one but don't feel comfortable to do that anymore given what they've said about the Get the L out protestors etc.

SpindleInTheWind · 04/05/2022 15:57

Yes, SW has inculcated a horrible atmosphere at Pride events for LGB people. Dangerous even.

Similar to FiLiA women having to get through the gauntlet, as Lisa-Marie said.

SW have created a hostile environment for LGB.

tabbycatstripy · 04/05/2022 15:59

Right, so I'm assuming part of her discrimination claim vis-a-vis being a lesbian is that she was being told by her employer (via Stonewall) that being a lesbian meant being same-gender attracted?

Chrysanthemum5 · 04/05/2022 16:01

Thanks @JulesRimetStillGleaming I'm sorry I missed it!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/05/2022 16:08

By 2018 Pride was very hostile to lesbians, see the July 2018 London Pride protest by Get the L Out.

TensionWheelsCooIHeels · 04/05/2022 16:09

This was just 🔥

"...AB: specifically to SW comes with two caveats. First no LGB without T and L with the T. At the time DW wrote this they said no room for lesbians, gays, bis who disagreed with GI theory.
IO: doesn't say that
AB: the CEO does"

Allison isn't playing IO's game today 😎

tabbycatstripy · 04/05/2022 16:09

AB is a fabulous woman.

chilling19 · 04/05/2022 16:09

Ooh, judge intervenes to let Allison finish.

ickky · 04/05/2022 16:09

IO asks AB to explain her objection, then cuts her off when AB is trying to explain.

OP posts:
nauticant · 04/05/2022 16:10

AB making a fine point there about Stonewall wanting to get GCC to operate according to "gender identity" and that is objectionable because it is outside the law.

BIWI · 04/05/2022 16:11

Sorry to be dense, but what does FiLiA stand for?

ickky · 04/05/2022 16:12

I think IO thinks AB is Saul Goodman in disguise. 😅

IO's line of argument there that Stonewall didn't tell GCC to do anything, and if it did it was all wholly unobjectionable because it was to support LGB people, and others, was not the success she had been hoping for.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 04/05/2022 16:17

SW's barrister is soooo unpleasant. I guess that's her job, but really she seems so extremely unpleasant and frankly rude that if I were a judge I wouldn't be impressed by her approach.
