Ah, that right side of history again Hmm

DoubleYouOhEmAyEn · 03/04/2022 17:57

They are tone deaf misogynists. Horrifying.

Mummyoflittledragon · 03/04/2022 18:07

That is horrendous. How can that not be seen as a death threat?!

Neverreturntoathread · 03/04/2022 18:37

I think it may have been removed by Twitter now?

VelvetChairGirl · 03/04/2022 18:47

not surprised at all, its twitter the MRA HQ.

VelvetChairGirl · 03/04/2022 18:52

kudos to James Dreyfus tho.

does he get death and rape threats I wonder?

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/04/2022 18:52

Looks like it. Good. Shame it took being exposed in the Mail to convince Twitter.

James gets a lot of hate and has lost work because of his stance. He seems like a lovely man.

Twitter do not care when women are being threatened or endangered.

A few years ago a female TRA with a few thousand followers doxxed me on Twitter. Published my email address, my name, and the city where I live. There was a whole thread with suggestions on who I might be - luckily I have a common name so neither she or her dim followers worked it out but it was really terrifying watching the thread evolve as various lunatics posted links going 'is this her?'.

Me and at least 50 others reported it to Twitter. In my naivety I thought they would take it down immediately. They replied instead within a few days saying that it didn't violate their community standards when it very clearly did. The tweet is still up there as far as I know.

The report in my case, and in JKR's case, will have been received by some basement dwelling TRA mod at Twitter who will have rubbed his hands together at women being endangered.

I always remembered the footballer case where someone was arrested due to Tweet and incitement of hatred

Why don’t women get this protection?

Unfortunately, the social media companies that rule our lives are run by inadequate men who grew up on porn and who don't give a shit about actual women.

I reported so many TRAs and there MRA mates disgusting threats and misogyny and not a single one of them was deemed to breach there rules.

then I watched my sisters one by disappearing for pointing out hubbard had meat and 2 veg etc. Twitter is for incels the sooner its gone the better.

oh and they did nothing about the black woman on my follow list who kept getting sent banana and monkey emojis either.

IvyTwines · 03/04/2022 19:03

@Jessasamantha I'm sorry to hear that happened to you, and yes, a certain recent Reddit case was very revealing about the type of people who seek employment as social media moderators.

Riapia · 03/04/2022 19:38

What a great put down by JK.
The more they try the more foolish she makes them look.
Who’s stupid enough to try next.

pistachioicecream · 04/04/2022 07:32

I’d reported this too and just got an update to say that account has been found to have violated Twitter’s rules.

Maybe they didn’t like the publicity they were getting about it ?

littlbrowndog · 04/04/2022 07:38

I reported that one as well. Just got a report to say it violated their rules

BraveBananaBadge · 04/04/2022 08:46

The number of (often men) replying to JK fecking Rowling to tell her it was clearly a joke and no big deal (unlike the evil things she does, natch) was disconcerting as ever.

This willingness to turn a blind eye to and diminish the seriousness of death threats just because she is rich/ high profile/ they don't like her is nothing new, but Jesus Christ sometimes it really leaps out this is how they think it is okay to treat people.

ScreamingMeMe · 04/04/2022 08:58

TRAs actually had the cheek to say that by complaining about these threats, JK Rowling was putting the person who made them in real danger! You couldn't make this shit up.

In case you're curious about the musical works of the trans activist, there's some information here:

That photo! I've deleted several attempts to describe that photo, as I can't find a way of phrasing it.
It's glaringly obvious though.
Words have meanings, and some words are not illustrated by the person in that photo.
