I forgot the real reason why I began reading those comments: I wanted to see what they said about the death threats against JK Rowlings.
The common responses were that a) JK Rowlings never responded to them when they made rational counterarguments but would then single out some unimportant person's death threat, and b) all TERFs cause trans people to die by directing violent people in their direction, and that is much, much worse than a few online threats.
The major assertion that was made in those threads was about Dr. David Bell. Presumably he never actually worked directly with GID patients at Tavistock. (More clarity on the issue www.theguardian.com/society/2021/may/02/tavistock-trust-whistleblower-david-bell-transgender-children-gids).
I looked for tweets which would have disapproved of the death threat tweet. If there were any from that side on the issue they were so few that I can't recall them.
This is somewhat similar to how the slogan "It's all right to punch a Nazi' was used, i.e., that it is acceptable to use violence against a person suspected of even greater violence.
The snag, of course is that 'suspected' here is entirely subjective, not based on any evidence that others could verify or falsify, and not addressed within the legal system.
