Not an original description, but 'car crash' is appropriate. From 9.30 this morning; if you want to listen to the whole thing.

Labour's Siobhain McDonagh MP on the radio today:

"I do think women are a female born adult"

and

"the hatred comes from people who think there is no such thing as sex, only gender"

Also, Labour's Siobhain McDonagh MP on the radio today:

"I think JK Rowling is a national hero"

What station/show was that on?

Politico reports:

Johnson began his speech with this opener: “Good evening ladies and gentleman, or as Keir Starmer would put it, people who are assigned female or male at birth.” Expect plenty more of that as we gear up for the next election.

This was at a dinner with majority Tory MPs.

interesting. Not that I believe that the Tories do that much for women but the fact that they see this as an opportunity means that they think they could capitalise on it and it may, and I say may hopefully, force the other parties to reconsider their stance on the issue.

The Tories can be better at reading the room than Labour - doesn't mean that they are right, just that they can spot the current topics better. However, cost of living crisis is another matter ............

Artichokeleaves · 30/03/2022 10:02

The cost of living crisis is a very major one.

I'd definitely prefer a government to deal with it who can handle and face objective reality, can communicate in clear language, aren't mostly immersed in a fiction around their personal agenda, and can talk about and deal with difficult issues.

A basic grip on reality does not seem a lot to ask really.

My own view is that when it comes to sport, it should be about sex rather than gender and sex should be based on your biological sex.

I’m glad he’s said that.
