Hospital told police patient not raped because attacker transgender

A hospital told the police that a patient could not have been raped because her alleged attacker was trans, the House of Lords has heard.

The attack took place a year ago and the woman reported it but when officers contacted the hospital, which has not been named, they were told “that there was no male in the hospital, therefore the rape could not have happened”.

Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, who raised the issue during a debate on single-sex wards, continued: “They forgot that there was CCTV, nurses and observers.

“None the less, it has taken nearly a year for the hospital to agree that there was a male on the ward and, yes, this rape happened.

This is horrendous.
I am all for trans rights but not at the expense of women's rights.

This isn’t about trans anything.

This is about Penis. PENIS on a hospital ward where women are vulnerable and entitled, therefore, to privacy and dignity. Entitled, in fact, to not be raped, to not have Penis shoved in their faces and/orifices, and to not have to pretend that said penis person is not of the sex that has a penis.

It's rapists that are the issue and hospitals protecting them

Whether the rapists are trans women, males pretending to be trans women or men opportunistically accessing woman's wards. None of them belong on female wards.

No - in UK law rape can only be committed by penetration by a penis so it isn’t possible under uk law for a women to commit rape

Sexual assault by penetration with an object carries an equal sentence in law so men and women can be convicted of it

over 90% of 1500 responses would prefer single sex wards. That thread isn't just about this issue as there are other reasons why you might be on a mixed sex ward.

This is appalling, singe sex wards should mean this, a female ward is a female ward - no males. Words fail me really - it is just appalling, I am very pleased that Emma Nicholson has brought this to the attention of the public as I feel the rights of females are being eroded.

So there are roughly 200,000 male born transgender people with no body modifications whatsoever. And of the roughly 50,000 remaining male born trans gender people who do take hormones and have breast implant surgery, only 1000 have had genital reconstruction surgery,

A year they held out that there are were no males. She was raped with a lady and her ladydick. Which means nothing happened...right...got it...
