Hospital told police patient not raped because attacker transgender

A hospital told the police that a patient could not have been raped because her alleged attacker was trans, the House of Lords has heard.

The attack took place a year ago and the woman reported it but when officers contacted the hospital, which has not been named, they were told “that there was no male in the hospital, therefore the rape could not have happened”.

Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, who raised the issue during a debate on single-sex wards, continued: “They forgot that there was CCTV, nurses and observers.

“None the less, it has taken nearly a year for the hospital to agree that there was a male on the ward and, yes, this rape happened.

I was making a comment on the level of wider public knowledge of how "the authorities" are coping with decision making around these issues.

Datun · 18/03/2022 10:25

So the NHS are denying a woman was raped because no man was present?

How often are they denying babies are born, because no women are present?

Absolute fucking idiocy.

It's a predator's dream.

(And to the poster who complains about the swearing. The actual tagline of this site was 'the one with all the swearing').

NotTerfNorCis · 18/03/2022 10:26

This sounds like the kind of story TRAs would say is made up and scaremongering, but it's clearly true!

IcakethereforeIam · 18/03/2022 10:27

They deny that a man was on the ward but we all know it was a woman that was raped.

Considering the number of rape cases that are dropped because the survivor can't bear to proceed with the process, I am awed by the courage of the woman in this case. The pressure to just give up and try to forget about it when everyone was insisting, not that it just didn't happen but that it couldn't have happened.

Although, they denied he was there, they knew he was. Did they leave him there to do this again, could there be another victim(s)?

I grateful for the breakdown of trans-crimes. I read an article, many years ago, stating that tw were disproportionately jailed for sexual crimes because so many were involved in prostituting themselves. This clearly does not conform to the data provided and I wonder, now, if it ever did.

Lord Etherton claimed that the Equalities Act protected people with gender reassignment and people in the process of gender reassignment, including men who had simply changed their name or grown their hair. In a way this makes sense, gender reassignment doesn't seem to have an end point so how can there be a start point especially when who the FUCK knows what the FUCKETTY FUCK gender is.

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky · 18/03/2022 10:28

It’s a classic example of “but that never happens” NotTerf

A sacred caste of any man that turns up to hospital in a wig and "feminine" attire.

My understanding is that it wouldn't be necessary to don a wig or 'feminine' attire but a self-id is sufficient. Examples in other contexts are to be found here:

@DameHelena

The hospital should definitely be named. Why the fuck do they get to keep anonymity? EVERYONE should be aware of which hospital it is that's done this.

anon666, I agree, I can't square this. So it was reported at the time, police contacted the hospital, were told 'there was no male in the hospital, so this can't the have happened', and what, just went away again? Surely they had at least a statement from the woman contradicting this idea that it 'didn't happen'?

It would be a very unusual hospital to be able to say that no men could possibly have been in the ward.

Do they not have any male staff? Male visitors? A risk of intruders?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 18/03/2022 10:32

@WellThatsMeScrewed

A woman cannot rape a woman.

They can sexually assault a women (but statistically this is exceedingly low compare to man on woman sexual assault).

The police, the Ministry of Justice, the NHS and all the other corrupted organisations have made sure that the stats about women's crimes are escalating exponentially. Because they're calling the crimes of these perverted male sex offenders who claim to be women, women's crimes.
Looubylou · 18/03/2022 10:36

I can not begin to imagine the victim's suffering. I can't even make myself read it. As a nurse, I can also imagine the threats and brainwashing that some staff will have endured, within their organisation. 😢

hamstersarse · 18/03/2022 10:36

We need a revolution.

This shit cannot continue to happen in plain sight.

I feel like we are letting this happen too easily and we need to get more fierce about it. Fuck going along with the lies for one minute longer. I won't be complicit with these lies any longer.

Ozanj · 18/03/2022 10:36

All of these perverts coming out as trans specifically when it suits them (ie to rape women and molest girls) is harming the actual trans population. If Stonewall isn’t careful we’ll end up with an Asia type situation where rapists and child molesters dressing as women has meant trans and eunch populations are banned from every aspect of polite society & family areas.

Can you believe 10 people actually liked that tweet. It's hard to believe the Tweeter is a woman who works as a therapist in the NHS.

TheWeeDonkey · 18/03/2022 10:38

Is this how TRAs get away with saying that countries with self ID don't have an issue with increased sexual assaults harassment and voyeurism? Because authorities lie and sweep it under the rug?

Do women matter so little?

Males can identify as women but they don't need to identify with women.

Looubylou · 18/03/2022 10:39

MrsOvertonsWindow- bloody hell, thankyou for highlighting that!

PrelateChuckles · 18/03/2022 10:41

Is there an actual report yet (guess not as the police investigation is ongoing)?

This is so unbelievable (not that I don't actually believe the victim but ykwim) that having a full objective account with all pertinent information re what happened (and who dismissed it) would be incredibly useful.

I'm fully GC and I'm still gobsmacked. We're in this weird no mans land where many people use the word "woman" to include male people, and others it would never occur to, so no-one can communicate important information properly.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 18/03/2022 10:42

It's hard to believe the Tweeter is a woman who works as a therapist in the NHS.

And fully signed up to the values of the NHS constitution that I posted upthread. Shock

Fucking hell this is sickening.

Every day a new horror story with each worst than the last.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 18/03/2022 10:47

@Scorchedterf

Is the rape victim doing to sue? I hope she does and I very rarely think the NHS should be sued. I wonder if we can start to shake things up by specifically requesting womens wards when we go into hospital.
We would have to request single sex female wards.

The NHS believe TWAW so asking for a woman's ward wouldn't work

RoseslnTheHospital · 18/03/2022 10:47

It's infuriating that this has only been reported in the Telegraph and the DM as far as I can tell, and only because the Baroness raised it yesterday. It should be front page news on all decent news media, given the extent to which the police and the NHS colluded to try to destroy this brave woman for daring to say the truth.

Unsure33 · 18/03/2022 10:49

can someone please question Starmer about this ? he is supposed to be the legal expert . I want to see him explain this .

terryleather · 18/03/2022 10:49

@LoisLane66

Thread aside, why does every other comment use the 'f' word? Is it really necessary? I find it really base.
On this thread this is what you choose to be concerned about?

Get a grip and stop policing women's speech.

canicross · 18/03/2022 10:50

This has incensed me. What kind of future are we allowing for our daughters? I applaud those such as JK Rowling who have a voice, and use it, despite the back lash.

IamAporcupine · 18/03/2022 10:50

@HotSauceCommittee

I want us to find out which hospital it was and have loads of feminists demonstrating outside every day for forever. Maximum press attention and embarrassment. I want to shine a light on this.
I feel the same
