Hospital told police patient not raped because attacker transgender

A hospital told the police that a patient could not have been raped because her alleged attacker was trans, the House of Lords has heard.

The attack took place a year ago and the woman reported it but when officers contacted the hospital, which has not been named, they were told “that there was no male in the hospital, therefore the rape could not have happened”.

Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, who raised the issue during a debate on single-sex wards, continued: “They forgot that there was CCTV, nurses and observers.

“None the less, it has taken nearly a year for the hospital to agree that there was a male on the ward and, yes, this rape happened.

Fucking laughing at the fucking superciliousness coming up on this thread.

Super-fucking-silly-fucking-ous-fucking-ness!

Jackjack0962 · 18/03/2022 10:05

@Shtfday

I don't even think it matters male or female, penis or no penis.

A patient in hospital (vulnerable and believing to be in a safe space) was raped and assaulted by a patient B.

Where were the staff? on finding out about the attack what did they do?

Even if Patient B had been a biological female who had attacked and raped patient A using some other means it would still be rape and an attack.
Why the hell would they deny rape had occurred ?

How the hell is someone so ill they are a patient in hospital able to attack someone. surely they shouldnt have been in hospital in the first place.

It is awful for the victim here who has nt only been raped but had the trauma of not only not being believed but being gaslit to believe that this was impossible

Of course it matters. Gaslighting a RAPE victim is not ok.

Only males can rape. Biological women can never rape.

No rape victim should have to refer to their rapist using female pronouns.

MrsSteveMcDonald · 18/03/2022 10:05

Now now wims, maybe we are talking about the wrong fucking f word. Female is considered to be unacceptable by so many that we need to be called bleeders, vagina havers, etc...

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 18/03/2022 10:05

@JanetheObscure

I am possibly more open to the idea that TWAW than most on this thread. However, anyone who chooses to use their male organ to perpetrate an unspeakable crime is - without any question at all - not a TW.

The same goes for TM who give birth.

Unfortunately that belief is what leads us to this
Cheshirecatwoman · 18/03/2022 10:06

I have some questions:

  1. Would the ward staff be told of the patient who committed the rape was actually biologically a man? (Eg when they are admitted would this be clear to all staff on the notes/handover etc?)
  1. For the purposes of healthcare and crime/sentencing (Eg hospitals and prison) why do they not just rely on biological sex when making decisions?

I am happy for anyone to dress however they like and present themselves however they like, but it seems madness to refer to preferred gender in a healthcare setting when safety of all patients is paramount. Things like inserting a Catheter and other procedures are completely different depending on your anatomy! Surely they can’t just ignore biology in these instances?

What am I missing here? Sorry I am new to all this so just getting my head around it and can hardly believe how we’ve got to here tbh?

borntobequiet · 18/03/2022 10:06

no accounting for low language standards nowadays on these sites

I really can’t think of anything worse.

Magicpaintbrush · 18/03/2022 10:07

I suspect the hospital's refusal to admit there was a male on the ward is less to do with protecting the transgender person and more to do with covering their own arse because they allowed a male bodied individual into a women's ward - if they were to admit this horrific attack occurred then their policy of TWAW and allowing people with a penis into wards with biological females gets shown for what it is: a diabolical mistake and a betrayal of women. As soon as they admit the truth then they are responsible for putting the victim in a situation where she could be raped. Heads should absolutely roll. How dare they try to re-write history to silence a rape victim. Disgusting.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 18/03/2022 10:07

@Harridan1981

Isn't this a bizarre own goal? By saying that there were no men on the ward, therefore no penis...aren't they asserting that only men have penises? I thought we were meant to acknowledge that women can have penises too?
I don't think there's any way to unpick the vast entanglements of conflicting rights and the Gordian knot they pose to some people.

And, much as I'm sure there are some legal figures who are experiencing an uptick in bodily secretions and positively drooling at the prospect of discussing this in the abstract, there's a traumatised, gaslighted woman at the heart of this who was raped in what should have been a safe space.

I'm sick at heart.

WellThatsMeScrewed · 18/03/2022 10:07

A woman cannot rape a woman.

They can sexually assault a women (but statistically this is exceedingly low compare to man on woman sexual assault).

Oh holy fuck.
That poor poor woman, she is so strong to keep going. I hope she she’s the hospital. How the fuck can ward staff and management know someone has been raped and collectively decide to tell her she wasn’t and deny it? They should all face jail time for perverting the course of justice, or whatever the charge is. They had evidence she was raped and they covered it up.
I bet those nursing staff who supported her were also sacked or shut up.

I want this to be shouted from everywhere

Helleofabore · 18/03/2022 10:09

awww... I thought I did well in fitting in as many fucks as I could.

Because, on this thread, everyone should be giving as many fucks as we can. It is that important.

ATeamAmy · 18/03/2022 10:09

Shades of Savile all over again. NHS at both leadership and individual staff level knowing what is happening but being complicit in a cover up, because he was a sacred caste of 1. Patients told to keep quiet or gaslit that it didn't happen. Meanwhile, our national broadcaster, drunk on public money, knowing full well what a monster he is, pushes him onto the public as everyone's cuddly uncle that will make your dreams come true.

What have we today? A sacred caste of any man that turns up to hospital in a wig and "feminine" attire. Objecting female patients turned into the aggressor by staff, gaslit, told they are phobic, told to put up or go home. Meanwhile, our national broadcaster (still drunk on public money, still thinking it knows best, still failing to learn any lessons from the past) brainwashes the public, from CBeebies upwards, with depictions of males masquerading as woman as being delightful, rainbow unicorns in human form, the bravest and the most stunning, the most marginalised, the most harmless.

This poor brave woman is the victim of each and every person who pushes the TRA agenda. My heart goes out to her. And I thank her from the bottom of my heart for being brave enough to take her case to the wonderful Baroness.

And my hatred for TRAs (including those who sit on the fence with their pathetic "don't really understand the issues", "We can't prove there's only 2 sexes", "Live and let live" bullshit rhetoric) has reached a brand new level. Fuck the lot of you.

Trippingslippingx1 · 18/03/2022 10:10

Its unbelievable horrific

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 18/03/2022 10:12

@AlisonDonut

I think there is a point in what Jane is saying. There was quite a debate after Freddie McC had a baby whether the biological act of having a baby was incompatible with the claim that they were living as the opposite sex.

You shouldn’t be able to claim trans status and have that respected if you are going to continue to do things that only your birth sex can do.
So even if a TW has a GRC an act like rape should be seen as a renunciation of their trans status as it negates their assertion that they are living as the opposite sex.

Torunette · 18/03/2022 10:12

This is an extraordinary cover-up of institutional negligence. What makes it worse is that it is so Kafkaesque.

At some point, this particular policy has been agreed with no consideration of safeguarding concerns, and then cascaded downwards. There must be a record of that decision.

This needs to go to court.

Cailin66 · 18/03/2022 10:12

@Pootle40

Jk Rowling where are you when we need you? When did this shit start?
She has spoken up against this time and time again. She has been there for us despite all the horror sent her way on Titter for speaking up. This week is the Maya Forstator unfair dismissal case. J K Rowling stood up for her too. It is not her job to speak up for us, the fault lies with those people, women included, who let this happen. Now it is time to say - Enough. A man can never be a woman.
Theeyeballsinthesky · 18/03/2022 10:12

Don’t worry @Cheshirecatwoman it’s perfectly normal to spend a lot of time going “but…but..how??????” at first

Despite what our regular scolders are keen to tell us, it is perfectly possible to tell men from women just by looking in 99%

The hospital will have known that person was a man even if their records said female

Hospital told police patient not raped because attacker transgender
Hospital told police patient not raped because attacker transgender
Artichokeleaves · 18/03/2022 10:14

Be kind, be tolerant, it'll never happen, no women will be negatively affected has been tried .

We have women raped in prisons by male prisoners given access under all this experimentation, we've had women raped in locked women's mental health wards by male patients given access under this experiment and now a woman raped on a hospital ward.

This doesn't work. Obviously. Those being given this access will include those who will abuse it, it will happen, women will suffer and women and women's facilities and resources are not all about prioritising the needs of male people.

If male people need alternatives to male provision that's a problem that those male people need to sort out with prisons and the NHS, and good luck to them. What they cannot have is the female provision. This is not a resource available to males.

We've tried it. Women are not collateral damage to trying to make males' lives better. They're actually just as human too.

Wheresthebeach · 18/03/2022 10:14

I hope she sues them for a tonne of money. I hope they are charged with obstruction of justice.

Beyond angry now.

Artichokeleaves · 18/03/2022 10:17

I hope she sues the arse off the NHS and everyone involved. I hope it's an eyewatering sum that makes insurers panic and incentivises every female who suffers as a result of this mad experiment to employ a lawyer and see if they can get a payout of their own. Losing money will motivate far, far more than managing to get anyone to give a fuck about women.

But to do that, a woman has had to be hurt in what will be a life changing way.

It was easily foreseeable, predictable, it was bloody inevitable.

The damage to her mind and body and future was considered worth it to protect a small number of male people's feelings.

Cailin66 · 18/03/2022 10:18

@PierresPotato

Did I miss this on the national news?
Have you missed the fact they are now putting Penised People into women's jails. In California it's so bad for the women the prison service are handing out contraception to deal with the problem of sex in their prisons. And the women can not complain as they have no rights. In Ireland there are two Penised People in a women's prison. Both very violent abusers. It's also happening in the UK where Karen White, a Penised Person, put in a women's prison raped in jail.
ATeamAmy · 18/03/2022 10:20

@Harridan1981

It's Shrodinger's Penis. To be celebrated and accommodated as a lady part at all times (especially by "cis" (fuck that term) lesbians who are not allowed to have genital preferences) except when it rapes, and then it can't possibly be attached to a proper TW and reverts to being male.
PierresPotato · 18/03/2022 10:23

I do know this but for example when I said to my DH that a man having had no surgery or treatment could now simply identify his way into a women's prison he scoffed and said the authorities would knock that idea on the head..He knows now too.

MyLittlePhonyPony · 18/03/2022 10:23

Firstly absolutely sickened by this. Considering sending it with no comment to everyone I know. Out myself as GC obviously though and all the fire and brimstone that brings.

Secondly, why the fucking fuck are only women with certain backgrounds and education deemed worthy to have a voice by some. How can your main concern be that other people are swearing using fuck, when the fucking crime was, oh yes, rape. Fucking without consent.

I am for all women. By that I mean women of all backgrounds. Sweary, uneducated, educated the whole she bang.

And that excludes people who have or have ever had a penis.

Especially those who weaponsise their penis.
