NHS booklet promotes prostitution and sex by deception

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10606811/NHS-funded-clinic-promoting-prostitution-way-trans-people-pay-treatment.html

I have seen this booklet, it is dreadful. The fact one of these new ‘gender clinics’ was promoting this is abhorrent. These clinics see teenagers!

Minister Mike Freer was full of praise recently for Dr Michael Brady; Brady is heavily involved with this clinic. Hard to believe he isn’t aware of this booklet.

Entitled Cruising: A Trans Guy’s Guide To The Gay Sex Scene, it advises readers to circumvent men-only restrictions at gay saunas by only performing sex acts ‘without others seeing your genitals’. Experts warned doing so would be committing the crime of sex by deception.

I'm missing something here, clearly. Trans men are men, right? Why would other men have a problem with seeing their genitals?

MichelleScarn · 13/03/2022 10:14

Are these genitals not vulva in trans men?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/03/2022 10:15

Yes, I was being a tad tongue in cheek.

MichelleScarn · 13/03/2022 10:17

Sorry @Ereshkigalangcleg! Should have noted poster! Am so used to the insta ploppers coming along with faux outrage!

SnowdropsInSpring · 13/03/2022 10:18

@MichelleScarn

Are these genitals not vulva in trans men?
Surely they’re male vulvas and therefore no man should have a problem with that. I mean TMAM.

🤔🧐

Once again, female bodied people are encouraged into prostitution. Even if they identify out of womanhood, it still follows them…

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/03/2022 10:20

Np Michelle good to know I can pass for a TRA if I need to Halo

WalrusSubmarine · 13/03/2022 10:26

Also once again females being pushed into sex acts that also give them no pleasure (if they are ‘hiding their genitals’).

Also it’s ignoring rules, restrictions and boundaries of another well established specific social group.

Imnobody4 · 13/03/2022 10:31

Agree this is really disturbing. Someone is responsible for allowing this or do they just have no oversight of any external organisations publications. Dr Michael Brady is also involved with the Terrance Higgins Trust who if I remember rightly pulled HIV adverts from Boyz magazine over coverage of trans. Although I thought he'd also been criticised by some TRAs.

Star just keep posting mind bending inaccuracies and you'll be fine, just more of the 'you're just evil right wingers' and then flounce off and you're winning!! Wink
Itwasntmeright · 13/03/2022 10:35

Quite apart from anything else, and there is a great deal else, isn’t this extremely dangerous?

MrPanks · 13/03/2022 10:37

That article is stomach churning, especially considering it's aimed at young trans men (presumably the ROGD group). Young people will be led to believe that if the NHS say its okay, its okay. Unbelievable to think this was something the NHS was happy to put their name too, and their defence was that they didn't review it?! Absolutely negligent.

A young person could become seriously traumatised following this advice. Not to mention the 'sex by deception' it is bloody deceptive to lead someone to believe you are something you are not, whether they can see your genitals or not. As disgusting as it is deceptive. Sajid Javid needs to crack down on this bollocks asap.

ResisterRex · 13/03/2022 10:43

I feel like I've read a lot of shocking things to do with the general topic of how badly trans issues are responded to by our health services but my jaw is on the floor reading this article.

I will be looking out for this:

"Tory peer Baroness Nicholson described the booklet as ‘surely outside the professional ethics of NHS medical professionals and may even go beyond the bounds of the law’. She intends to raise the matter in the House of Lords."

PaleBlueMoonlight · 13/03/2022 10:50

That is horrendous. How have people lost their moral compass so completely.

rogdmum · 13/03/2022 10:57

I have a copy of this booklet. It’s horrific and I’m rarely shocked these days. The journalist has tweeted a link to a pdf of it if anyone wants to read it:

littlbrowndog · 13/03/2022 10:59

On the waiting list for any operation

Nhs suggest prostitution to raise funds to go private

Hip operation knee operation. Never seen them suggest that

Why are young vulnerable girls being told this

Thewindwhispers · 13/03/2022 11:09

“This booklet uses the word front hole to describe the vagina.” So offensive.

And, yet again, women are being told that their place is to give blow jobs while hiding their own genitals and receiving no pleasure themselves.

Porn has a lot to answer for imo.

Datun · 13/03/2022 11:29

I wonder how many times the NHS have advised men to hide their penises to disguise their sex during sex acts with women.

Or sell their bodies to pay for their prostate op.

OvaHere · 13/03/2022 12:05

Horrifying. How on earth does this get published by the NHS?

That's vile.

An aside but the booklet linked to this

www.prep.scot/

This lists groups who are more likely to be vulnerable to HIV.

2 points
Trans and non-binary people who have condomless penetrative anal or frontal sex may be at increased risk of HIV. PrEP can help to protect you from HIV

Er, isn't anyone who has casual unprotected sex at the same risk?

^Black African women and men
PrEP is used by people who are more at risk of getting HIV. This includes heterosexual men and women from Black African communities^

Eh ? With no explanation? Are Black African people genetically predisposed to be more likely to catch HIV? Isn't this connected to the machismo culture within some black African societies (especially South Africa) of men refusing to wear condoms?

QueenSue · 13/03/2022 12:27

We know that there are a lot of traumatized young women who identify as trans because they want to escape womanhood and sexual objectification...and they're told this? Go to sex clubs, secluded forests, prostitute yourself, pleasure random men but don't get anything back?

Datun · 13/03/2022 12:46

I'm still reeling. Advising young women to go and have sex in secluded woodland at night with a man who thinks they're male???

And it's no good the NHS now saying they're taking the leaflet down blah blah blah. Who the fuck would ever write that in the first place, NHS or no NHS???

Dear God, this country is failing young women so very, very badly.

The government needs to intervene.

KittyLeMew · 13/03/2022 12:47

This manages to be vile, duplicitous and utterly depressing at once.

Sarcastic Star

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/03/2022 12:49

Video by Mr Menno, which references this guide as produced by Clini_Q, among other things. He recently attended an event they put on about "the future of trans healthcare"
