Hi all,

Thank you so much for all your support: emotional, intellectual, financial, spiritual(!) reading the Mumsnet feminism board is where this all started for me!

The case starts tomorrow.

It is all online. If you want to watch you need to email the tribunal for a log in to [email protected]

It kicks off at 10am - the first bit will be "admin" between the judges and the lawyers working out the timings, issues and any reporting restrictions Hmm.

Once that is all sorted the judge and the panel will go away to read (probably for the rest of Monday and all of Tuesday)

I will most likely give evidence Wednesday and Thursday.

@tribunaltweets will be tweeting the whole thing (assuming they get permission from the judge)

Links to papers will go up throughout the case at www.hiyamaya.net.

Any other questions I am happy to answer them (apart from the ones where I have to say "that is for the tribunal to hear"...)

I have made a spectators guide with FAQs etc here

Lots of love

Maya

It's in the OP. Email [email protected] and ask for a login to the hearing. No idea on time, maybe someone else will be able to let you know.

I emailed them yesterday afternoon, around 4. Still haven’t had a reply, so it may take a bit of time. I suspect they’ll be coping with a surge in requests just from this thread after yesterday’s proceedings.

CriticalCondition · 15/03/2022 09:12

I emailed during the proceedings yesterday. They replied within about half an hour.

Zeugma · 15/03/2022 09:21

Hmmm, that’s interesting, Critical, how did you phrase the request? I just asked for permission to view the proceedings and stated the name of the case, but I couldn’t find any kind of official case number or anything. I said I knew I’d need an access code. Sounds as if my email went astray.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 15/03/2022 09:28

Check your junk folder, @Zeugma? Everything I ever want or need to read seems to go straight to junk.

tabbycatstripy · 15/03/2022 09:48

I just wrote that I would like details to access Forstater v CGD.

CriticalCondition · 15/03/2022 09:49

I included the case number from the case papers in Maya's links 2200909/2019 which may have helped them process it more quickly.

Zeugma · 15/03/2022 09:50

Thanks all, it’s just arrived! Got held up overnight I suppose.

tabbycatstripy · 15/03/2022 09:51

'Like that man who went round university campuses and had students agreeing that he was a 5 foot 3 Chinese woman - as long as he said he was.'

People who have literally subordinated their own perception to that of anyone else.

WearyLady · 15/03/2022 10:05

I emailed at 09.14 and got a reply at 09.53. One thing: the email said to ensure that I join the proceedings by 09.40. Why is this? I haven't attempted to log in yet but I was wondering what happens if one attempts to log in outside of the stated time.

tabbycatstripy · 15/03/2022 10:07

BC QC just stood up for OD about her childcare commitments.

WearyLady · 15/03/2022 10:07

I didn't include any reference numbers or any other identifiers. My email said simply:

'could you please give me online access to the Maya Forstater employment tribunal hearing'?

nauticant · 15/03/2022 10:15

LE: I didn't think that referring to the claimant's views as being like a Neo-Nazi was offensive.

Mumsnut · 15/03/2022 10:17

Coming from the king of ‘That’s offensive!!’ , that’s just … offensive

SamphiretheStickerist · 15/03/2022 10:17

He said what? Oh dear!

yourhairiswinterfire · 15/03/2022 10:18

One thing: the email said to ensure that I join the proceedings by 09.40. Why is this?

Could it be because of the reporting restrictions? The judge has to remind everyone at the start to not repeat certain names, so it may be that they want people logged in at a certain time so they don't miss the reminder?

nauticant · 15/03/2022 10:19

It is just AMAZING! Over the past couple of days I feel like I've had a whistle-stop tour of the Himalayas.

SamphiretheStickerist · 15/03/2022 10:20

And he's still stick on that pesky 'tone'!

Helleofabore · 15/03/2022 10:21

LE: I didn't think that referring to the claimant's views as being like a Neo-Nazi was offensive.

And that really sums up so many things about LE's mental cognitions.

Datun · 15/03/2022 10:24

It really is mine blowing how far all this has got.

An international company fears for its reputation because one of its employees thinks that sex exists and that it matters.

Sophoclesthefox · 15/03/2022 10:26

I am reasonable
She is offensive
They are just like Neo Nazis

Who sets these rules, Luke?

nauticant · 15/03/2022 10:26

LE is now being invited to explain how he came to the conclusion that Pips Bunce is a transwoman. Which then fed into the decision-making.

tabbycatstripy · 15/03/2022 10:27

BC questions LE on how Pips Bunce describes Pips as liking to 'dress up' in different gender expressions.

yourhairiswinterfire · 15/03/2022 10:28

@SamphiretheStickerist

And he's still stick on that pesky 'tone'!
Even though he admitted yesterday that he thinks Maya shouldn't be allowed to 'express belief in importance, relevance, immutability of sex AT ALL'.

So it's not about ''how she said it''.

Datun · 15/03/2022 10:28

LE says Bunce is Non binary.

There was a discussion here about why non binary was so important to be included, and almost everyone concluded that it's so it could be used as a name for cross dressers. Sally at the weekend, Stephen during the week type of thing.
