When asked by Nick Ferrari as to whether she agrees that only women have a cervix, she became extremely flustered and refused to say yes, saying 'the debate had become toxic', and 'pits one groups against another'. After being pressed further she said: Only women have a cervix 'is something I would not say'.

A few threads ago there was some speculation that it might be ok to vote Labour again. For me personally, struggling with the UC cut, difficulties with food prices rising, facing freezing or eating due to inflating energy prices, experiencing the cruelty of the disability benefit system, with children facing a lowering of the threshold for repayment of uni loans, sadly, it's still Conservatives who will have to get my vote.

Reeve sounded pretty good on taxation and said should be possible to not raise income tax.
Keir today stated 50% top rate is likely.
The poor woman has been nobbled.

jenny5000 · 27/09/2021 12:24

But PronounsSheRa, is this going down badly with the voting public? Will people change votes over this? I worry that we're deluding ourselves about this.

Jaysmith71 · 27/09/2021 12:27

Watching this confident, informed, articulate and passionate woman speaking to Conference now, it is hard to believe the gibbering Victorian fan-flutterer who was embarrassed to talk about bodies this morning was the same person.

Jaysmith71 · 27/09/2021 12:31

Now talking about her children. However did she acquire them? Was a cervix involved?

Hadalifeonce · 27/09/2021 12:33

I wish someone (Andrew Marr) would ask if it's transphobic to say only men have penises.

Artichokeleaves · 27/09/2021 12:45

@littlbrowndog

There’s lots of interviews of labour politicians being asked the same thing on Twitter.

Every single one suddenly starts doing emotions talk about trans people being the very most marginalised and one woman actually said the most traumatised and the most suicidal people

It’s very strange to see this

Did we have last week a report about violence against girls and women an empidemic?

I always want at this point for an interviewer to point out that this is factually untrue.

People with Autism and anorexia for example; both of them are statistically higher suicide risk factors for young people than being transgender, and known to be extremely vulnerable groups..... what exactly is said politician doing to advocate for them to this extreme?

And why are political parties running around in circles in panic about the vulnerability of one group, when a more vulnerable group is at the moment being so horrifically failed by SEND policy and many can't even attend school and isn't even being mentioned never mind something any politician seems to feel passionate about?

Unless of course, it's just yet another shout of 'squirrel!' while chipping away at an underlying agenda.

littlbrowndog · 27/09/2021 12:49

Yeah in Scotland it’s called

Oh look a magpie 🤣

BreatheAndFocus · 27/09/2021 13:01

@PronounssheRa

I've just listened to the clip of Rachel, it's excruciating. I don't think she believes what she is being told to say.
Yes, she definitely doesn’t believe it - hence the silences, guttural noises and faux outrage as she struggled to avoid the question.

Interestingly, when pushed on the issue of cervixes, she did say something along the lines of “Look - I don’t think we should be talking about women’s body parts…” Thereby revealing that, in fact, she does know that only women have a cervix.

She knows it, they all know it.

ChristinaXYZ · 27/09/2021 13:05

Rachel Reeves makes some very strange noises. It is more than mmm and err, it is almost distress - she is frightened. She is is flinching. It is like watching the false televised confession of someone who has had a 'little chat' with the security services in some dictatorship.

This is where we are now with this.

Jaysmith71 · 27/09/2021 13:08

someone who has had a 'little chat' with the security services

or shown the instruments of torture by the Inquisition.

ScreamingMeMe · 27/09/2021 13:09

This has certainly garnered a lot of publicity. Got to hand it to Keir Starmer, he's been a great help to our cause.

samsalmon · 27/09/2021 13:17

@MistandMud

Why don’t they look mildly surprised and say, ‘Well, women and girls, all female people do, including some transmen, if we’re being pedantic. Why?’
I’m not sure that would satisfy anyone as the point is not who has a cervix, it’s more who doesn’t have a cervix and who might be upset about that. In other words, if you don’t have a cervix you’re not a woman and that would exclude TW and we’re not allowed to do that. Or something. I don’t know anymore and my head hurts from thinking about this nonsense.
Westfacing · 27/09/2021 13:17

Watching her economy speech, the contents of which she obviously believes in, it's like seeing a totally different person!

Caught a few minutes on BBC2 with Jo Coburn interviewing a Helen somebody and Emily Thornberry - gawd Emily seems to have gone down the rabbit hole as well Sad

I can't watch, listen or read any more of this nonsense.

PronounssheRa · 27/09/2021 13:25

Emily has a man with a cervix cousin

PronounssheRa · 27/09/2021 13:26

Re my post above, this is what Emily herself has said, I'm not outing anyone

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 27/09/2021 13:49

@PronounssheRa

Emily has a man with a cervix cousin
She shouldn't allow that to switch her brain off, though. All the more reason, one would think, to switch it on and apply some critical thought to the issue.
Mollyollydolly · 27/09/2021 14:11

I wish they's start asking should a person with a penis charged with a sex offence be housed in women's prisons. Bring it down to brass tacks.

endofagain · 27/09/2021 14:33

@Mollyollydolly

I wish they's start asking should a person with a penis charged with a sex offence be housed in women's prisons. Bring it down to brass tacks.
Lisa Nandy has already made it clear that convicted rapists who self ID as women should be locked up in women's prisons. Tough luck for the women who can't get away from them.
ScreamingMeMe · 27/09/2021 17:10

@Jaysmith71

Watching this confident, informed, articulate and passionate woman speaking to Conference now, it is hard to believe the gibbering Victorian fan-flutterer who was embarrassed to talk about bodies this morning was the same person.
I remember being similarly gobsmacked after seeing Lisa Nandy talk sensibly and intelligently about something, after she had made a fool of herself on trans stuff. Do none of them think that if they have to splutter and waffle and obfuscate about something, perhaps the arguments and information are lacking?
ChristinaXYZ · 27/09/2021 17:15

I've seen a few people on twitter use #Imvotingwithmycervix not a bad idea!

Datun · 27/09/2021 18:15

I'm not sure what to make of the fact that a lot of these women are pro-women, and can be articulate and forceful when talking, but turn into hamstrung, gabbling twits when asked about transgenderism.

I'm guessing it's fair. This is so old.

I can remember Jess Phillips was it coming on here and people saying what are you so frightened of.

I still don't get it. They know the party line, but who is giving it to them for fuck's sake.

Datun · 27/09/2021 19:33

Not fair ! FEAR!! Why does AutoCorrect always turn your words into the opposite of what you mean??

Mollyollydolly · 27/09/2021 21:22

I cant help thinking what a mug I've been with Labour. I rejoined to vote for Lisa Nandy, then obviously couldn't vote for her when she proved to be insane, so voted for Starmer as leader. I wont be had again.
