Looks like Raab and Williamson are for the long overdue chop.

Others will be moved round.

Keep watching.

Let’s hope she keeps equality portfolio

SpindleWhorl · 15/09/2021 16:01

@Onyernelly

So glad Bucklands gone ….
Yes, he was a disaster for Planning and local govt.

But Johnson and his Cabinet didn't help.

titchy · 15/09/2021 16:03

@Onyernelly

Aww no ….. what does this mean for women?
Keeps it! Grin
ScribblingPixie · 15/09/2021 16:03

Liz Truss keeps Equalities role as well as being Foreign Secretary - so relieved.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 15/09/2021 16:03

Not to derail but does anyone know any more on Marsha de Cordova? She's my MP and I had thought she was fully TRA but some of the articles are suggesting she resigned because he wasn't happy with the stonewall takeover.

It'd be good to know as I like her politics on most other things and would like to vote for her again.

The women's portfolio isn't a full Secretary of Stateship. It's a ministerial bolt-on.

So she could hang on to it, especially as she's popular with the Tory grass roots apparently (I wonder why??)

She keeps it? Really?? Promise???

GrouchyKiwi · 15/09/2021 16:05

So glad Truss has kept Women and Equalities brief. Will be interesting to see how she gets on as Foreign Sec. Can't be worse than the last few holders of that role.

SpindleWhorl · 15/09/2021 16:08

BBC Reporter can't bear to say why Liz Truss is popular with the Party. Just saying vague stuff about trade and 'gender balance in the Cabinet'.

It's about women, BBC, women.

I believe she has supported Rosie Duffield and generally been criticised by trans activists for not being well enough signed up to their aims. If you search her name in this board in 'advanced search' I expect you will find some stuff.
Onyernelly · 15/09/2021 16:15

@titchy

Thank you 😊 phew

Manderleyagain · 15/09/2021 16:21

To add to that, her support for duffield might only have been liking a tweet in support of her (!) but that was enough to get criticism and be viewed with suspicion by some trans activists.

SpindleWhorl · 15/09/2021 16:30

I imagine that De Cordova just can't be arsed with all the aggressive bollocks from TRAs and the lack of leadership from Starmer on this any more, and is telling some truth about focusing on wanting to protect her seat and support her constituency in Battersea.

It is relevant to how Johnson perceives Truss's popularity, strengths and usefulness, I think.

GreyhoundG1rl · 15/09/2021 16:32

Oh God, what a relief 😅. Phew.
ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 15/09/2021 16:52

Thanks @SpindleWhorl and @Manderleyagain

Crispin Blunt will be apoplectic, excellent.
GreyhoundG1rl · 15/09/2021 16:54

Two good things for the price of one, then 😁

RedDogsBeg · 15/09/2021 17:03

Seems Liz Truss is the most popular Conservative politician amongst grass roots conservatives with Rishi Sunak second.

Don't think Crispin makes the list.

Wonder if the letters, cards and emails of support sent to Liz Truss around the time of GRA reform and after her 'Woman do have vaginas, Nick' interview has sunk in to the brains of those in Westminster.

Violetparis · 15/09/2021 17:03

I'm also interested in who is going to replace Marsha de Cordova. Haven't read anything about who it could be.

RedDogsBeg · 15/09/2021 17:05

It will be interesting Violetparis it will signal exactly where the Labour Party stand.

SpindleWhorl · 15/09/2021 17:05

Crispin Blunt unhappy? Oh no. Alert the big hitters at Stonewall. Oh, wait, hang on ....

Nadhim Sawhari new Education Secretary.

SpindleWhorl · 15/09/2021 17:07

BBC reporter still resolutely refusing to acknowledge these Cabinet ministers likely know what a woman is.

Jaysmith71 · 15/09/2021 17:07

Dorries to Culture, Media and Sport??????
