I've nicked a title, opened the door, dusted off the bar.

Come in and drown your sorrows, celebrate or just hang out in good company.

Moscow mules and vodka red bull were my nineties favs and gave me heart palpitations which would kill me now!

Beamur · 26/06/2021 19:43

Am now deeply nostalgic for Smirnoff Ice
Off to rummage in the fridge for booze

highame · 26/06/2021 19:54

Can't knit but think I could use a nit comb if needed. Are u all scratching your heads now 😂😂😂

Waitwhat23 · 26/06/2021 19:54

The bar I worked in during the early 00's had every flavour of Bacardi Breeze you can imagine. I never did try all the flavours. I do remember the watermelon one being a weird purple colour.

I've made myself want a Midori and lemonade now.

Olderbadger1 · 26/06/2021 20:00

Oh joy! Can I have some of that Pimms please - provided you buggers haven't drained the bowl. Is there a ranting and swearing corner or are all the corners used up with people sitting quietly and being no trouble to anyone?

And cheers to absent friends - including Badger (unless she's lurking in the shrubbery?)

Beamur · 26/06/2021 20:02

Finishing off some wine and feeling a bit Withnail in my search for someone else to make me dinner while I ransack the house for fine wines!

Beamur · 26/06/2021 20:04

No sitting quietly in a corner after a few Breezers! I could murder an orange one right now

Leafstamp · 26/06/2021 20:12

I’d forgotten about Barcadi Breezers! I liked the green one.

I’ve got some cheap rosé wine on the go now. Clearly gone up on the world since the 90s GrinHmm Cheers all

OwBist · 26/06/2021 20:32

Oooo, you've just reminded me of Hooch. I loved that stuff.... I'm going to have to bring the cat. She's being very clingy. Hopefully she'll make friends with camel and/or goats.

lazylinguist · 26/06/2021 20:37

I must say, I'm enjoying the virtual booze very much, since I'm on a pre-holiday health kick and am off the stuff in rl. Almost caved this evening, only to find there's no white wine and no tonic in the house Shock, so have stuck to my regime in spite of myself. Ah well - much easier to knit sober. I've also got a cryptic crossword if anyone's still sober enough to pull up a chair and assist me with it. Mine's a virtual rosé. Actually that sounds like a crossword clue.

Turned · 26/06/2021 20:40

*are all the corners used up with people sitting quietly and being no trouble to anyone?•

I probably wouldn't be here if I was able to sit quietly being no trouble to anyone Grin

NotAtMyAge · 26/06/2021 21:15

Glad to see knitting is in full swing I'll have a large Pinot Grigio and a packet of ready-salted, please.

Errol I'd like to have met your regimental sergeant-major. I've known a couple of men who knitted, including my late brother-in-law who grew up in a fishing community on the east coast of Scotland, where the men traditionally knitted their own guernseys when the weather was too bad for fishing.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 26/06/2021 21:24

I'm having a silent disco where I'm listening to

SirSamuelVimes · 26/06/2021 21:26

Hooch! That brings back memories. Hazy ones with a few gaps in, mind.

Leafstamp · 26/06/2021 21:27

Come on in NotAt. Welcome back.

I’m not in the knitting club but talk of Scottish knitting - I do love a Fair Isle jumper.

terryleather · 26/06/2021 21:38

You're very welcome in my swearing and grumping corner Older, and I've freshened the giant jug of Pimms so more than plenty to go round...Chin-chin once again!

Olderbadger1 · 26/06/2021 21:39

Excellent Turned - there's a spare stool but I'm keeping the chairs for my (slightly scary) mates...

Olderbadger1 · 26/06/2021 21:41

Oh thank you Terry - a woman after my own heart. Can my mates come too? And my new best friend Turner. Going to be quite a night...

Turned · 26/06/2021 21:45

Thank you olderbadger, that's the bedtime earworm sorted (goes off singing...)

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 27/06/2021 10:53

In solidarity with the brave women at the Pride marches in France and Spain, I've just set out some croissants, pan de higo, bread and that extraordinarily thick dipping chocolate drink.

Help yourselves, it's a sort of buffet thing.

Thank you. All delish. I want to raise the hot chocolate to all the women on this board - you are on fire 🔥 today. ThanksCake

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 27/06/2021 11:39

I've just seen the Wi Spa LA item - I'm taking ideas for brunch.

Virgin Mary (with a remarkable similarity to the always at hand gazpacho)?

Omelettes? In deference to already expressed preferences, absolutely no waffles?

lazylinguist · 27/06/2021 11:57

Delicious buffet, Embarrassing - can I contribute some sugary churros to dip in the chocolate and a potato tortilla? And muchísima/beaucoup de solidarity for our French and Spanish sisters.

Waitwhat23 · 27/06/2021 12:05

What about some really lovely chewy French bread with some really good salted butter, a selection of cured meats and a big bowl of olives?

lazylinguist · 27/06/2021 12:07

And some stinky cheese.
