I've nicked a title, opened the door, dusted off the bar.

Come in and drown your sorrows, celebrate or just hang out in good company.

Absolutely don't know what any of you are talking about! Never mind, have a good evening, I'm off home to watch Netflix.... :)

SpringCrocus · 23/07/2021 21:34

I'm facing the disintegration of my very long marriage, so not feeling very cheerful. Sorry and all that.

@SpringCrocus

Oh, SC - I'm so sorry for the distress and the wretched complexity that lies behind disintegration - is this a time when being alone is a balm? Or being alone in companionable silence?

My very best wishes to your in this horrible time.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 23/07/2021 21:47

That's awful SpringCrocus Sending you positive wishes.

SpringCrocus · 23/07/2021 21:49

I'll just hide in the comfy corner under the quilt, with a bucket of gin. Throw me crisps , nuts etc if you feel like it!

Understood.

Knock on the floor 3 times if a toastie or something on toast would help.

SpringCrocus · 23/07/2021 21:52

Disintegration best describes the unwinding of two lives, property , a shared business with 40 years of togetherness and 38 years of marriage. If it goes ahead, it's not going to be polite, or pretty, sadly.

Prawn cocktail

BlackeyedSusan · 23/07/2021 22:10

So sorry SpringCrocus.

SelfPortraitWithEels · 23/07/2021 22:32

Just popping in to say goodnight after a long week of feminist reading (Stock, Joyce, halfway through Shrier and they're all so sensible!). You're welcome, Overton, cheers! Wine

I'm so sorry to hear that, Crocus. I see the camel is giving you a sympathetic nuzzle but if the dribble is bothering you I can help manoeuvre her back outside...? Flowers Gin

Dribble from Camilla is actually quite cooling and comforting, tbh.
Assorted crisps and toasties and tissues most welcome, as are the kind words.
Just mind you all don't trip over my pile of soggy tissues.

SpringCrocus · 23/07/2021 23:13

Reading Trans to get me through this. Really good!

SpringCrocus · 24/07/2021 02:15

Dribble from Camilla mixed with my tears puddling on the flagstones caused a bit of a flood issue. Have put up a slip hazard warning triangle and mopped it all up.
Now sharing gin bucket and assorted crisps with Camilla. Going to be a long night, I fear

Just being in the sympathetic fellowship and company of women is helpful, tbh.
Something men never really understand, do they.

DaisiesandButtercups · 24/07/2021 03:09

You’re right SpringCrocus and you’re not alone. Flowers

You sit back down I’ll take over with the mop and bucket…and a get a couple more boxes of tissues.

There’s chocolate fudge brownies fresh from the oven if you fancy them…

theThreeofWeevils · 24/07/2021 04:19

So very sorry, SpringCrocus. Flowers Try to keep breathing deeply : doesn't in itself solve anything, but you will feel less shitty if you do. Same applies to taking on fluids and food.

Odeargodihaveturnedintomymother. Pass the camel, there's a luv. And keep breathing deeply, and set your own pace. Bon courage!

SpringCrocus I'll be moving about proving some dough for Danish pastries, rolls, bread and bits and pieces for breakfast later.

Give a floor knock or extend an arm from under the blankets if you'd like tea or coffee and a little something.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 24/07/2021 08:46

Finished pastries, croissants and bread etc. are in baskets - help yourselves.

There's cold cuts, cheese, and various bits in the fridge.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 24/07/2021 10:19

SpringCrocus, I've got some of those tissues with balm in them for sore noses.

mollythemeerkat · 24/07/2021 10:33

Self Portrait - have a few animals and interpret dribbling as a sign of love so maybe Spring Crocus needs to be dribbled over and sorry to hear you are in the middle of such a distressing time Spring Crocus and hope things get better for you soon.

BlackeyedSusan · 24/07/2021 11:27

Brew Spring.

highame · 24/07/2021 12:03

Spring I am offering you a loan of my very soft and beautiful wool and cashmere blanket (bought for use in outside eateries during covid) so that you can snuggle whilst reading Trans, still waiting for my copy

Flowers Wine and remember, it's a loan, if you run off with it I will be very cross Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 24/07/2021 15:50

I'm just back from a walk, which at one point has a couple of camelids in a field next to the track. The llama ignored us but the alpaca came and looked at us with huge brown eyes peering from under her (or maybe his, too floofy to hazard a guess) bouffant fringe.

Spring Crocus - there's a sheltered area where we could organise an impromptu silent disco tonight or have an outdoor cinema for the film that best suits your mood.

There can be drinks and snacks.

The pizzas will be ready to go around 18:30 and the usual bits and pieces will be out before then.
