I've nicked a title, opened the door, dusted off the bar.

Come in and drown your sorrows, celebrate or just hang out in good company.

Awww, that's brilliant, SelfPortrait!

Those biscotti are very moreish. Are they easy to make, Embarrassing?

ArabellaScott · 01/07/2021 13:24

Biscuits and biscotti, delish.

Selfportrait, that's lovely. Tiny little waves.

Sophoclesthefox · 01/07/2021 13:39

@SelfPortraitWithEels

Oh, bless you, Embarrassing, I shall enjoy eating all of those. Grin

Just took the littl'un out to the park and checked on my habadashivism - to find an Adult Human Female sticker added to my ribbon! Felt almost moved to tears. If it was anyone here, thank you! So good not to feel alone.

Love that 😍

Yeah I was picturing some sort of sniper / hitman arrangement for a couple of seconds which was a bit confusing!

I rather walked into that!

These pistachio ones are probably the easiest recipe I make and the most popular.

I also make the almond ones linked from there (I own the same book) and put some bruised anise seeds in them which is an outstanding combination.

I do a more familiar dipping one based on a BBC recipe but I faff about with it a lot to make sure that the fruit doesn't end up on the outside and burn. Very popular but I can't pretend that it isn't time consuming to make sure absolutely no fruit is exposed.

I was thinking more along the lines of a trip to the zoo.

I may have inadvertently revealed too much of my personality there then! Blush ~hides murderous tendancies~

Excellent- thank you, Embarrassing. Might whip up a batch this weekend. I was all prepared to feel a bit foolish if you'd replied that the biscotti were as virtual as the Bluestocking and you'd never made a real biscotto in your life. Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 01/07/2021 14:59

I could murder a biscotto or three, for sure.

I just had a lightbulb moment, after being stumped since yesterday. Was reading the thread about the WI and couldn't for the life of me thing who the person on the cover reminded me of. It's just come to me. Martin Jarvis! It's taking longer and longer to recall things (thank you peri-menopause), so I'm going to have a drinkie and some nibbles to celebrate. Cin cin. 🍹

OwBist · 01/07/2021 18:24

Think, not thing.

BatmansBat · 01/07/2021 18:26

I think I will go and sit with the camel again. And have a stiff G&T.

Can I leave my phone at the door so I can be sure to not post anything?

theThreeofWeevils · 01/07/2021 18:36

Barbecue at the far end of the garden's fired up beautifully, so there will be cheeseburgers soon for them as likes. And red pepper, tomato, garlic, basil & mozzarella parcel thingies.

SirSamuelVimes · 01/07/2021 18:41

I've brought steaks and king prawns to add to the BBQ.

theThreeofWeevils · 01/07/2021 18:46

Ooh, lovely, ta! But you'd better drive the prawns: I've murdered them before now, and that would be a sad waste.

Actually, the barbie might be a bit superfluous: lost my temper properly earlier for the first time in years and am still incandescent. Not fumming, though Grin

They sound lovely - those and the prawns.

I've just finished my last meeting for today so a little downtime with some food and in this lovely atmosphere will set up up for the rest of the work that I need to do.

JustcameoutGC · 01/07/2021 18:59

I am drinking posh beer down my allotment, eating pop chips. Anyone got a snag?

Beamur · 01/07/2021 19:02

Thursday is nearly the weekend isn't it? As it's a BBQ I'm going to lower the tone from the French cocktails to a rum and coke. Having a nostalgic visit back to the 90's with my preferred end of the evening pick me up.

theThreeofWeevils · 01/07/2021 19:21

If you're worried, Beamur, we could always 'elevate' it to a Dark & Stormy - a favourite let-me-hair-down-when-out-with-the-young'uns drink of mine.
Before I siphoned them into taxis.
No stamina at all

ArabellaScott · 01/07/2021 19:29

Embarrassing, you have a lot of meetings and are still managing to cook amazing food. Here, have a beer.

I will go and get fish and chips for everyone. Scampi for the poshos.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/07/2021 19:48

OwBist - I'm afraid I'm remembering Roy Barraclough.

I have had a stressful week and and am enjoying a nice Adnams. Despite all resolutions to the contrary, I've had both chocolate and alcohol this evening.

I normally love my job but it's a shit-show at the moment. I cannot wait for the end of term.

I'll go and cuddle the Camel, and wait for the fish and chips to turn up.

Waitwhat23 · 01/07/2021 21:07

I'm making cocktails for a party this weekend and I recommend my Rhubarb Cooler - 2 shots vodka, 2 shots strawberry liqueur, 1 shot lemon juice and a can of Cawstons Press over ice.

Any Scottish Bluestockings may wish to check out a priorities drive which is being throughly spammed at the moment.

Waitwhat23 · 01/07/2021 21:07

Sorry, should say a can of Rhubarb Press
