I've nicked a title, opened the door, dusted off the bar.

Come in and drown your sorrows, celebrate or just hang out in good company.

@ArabellaScott

Wow, Embarrassing, can I hire you as my personal caterer?

Also, I would like some Pimms in a bucket, please.

Just have a standing order with the Bluestocking - probably easiest.

Checking if the Pimms in that quantity is for you or the camel? Not judging, just want to gauge the size of the bucket.

OwBist · 29/06/2021 17:31

Can we have it in a kettle drum and just bring our own straws? I'm assuming there's no h&s risk in a virtual bar. Wink

highame · 29/06/2021 17:38

That'll probably be a gallon bucket for the camel and a 5 gallon drum for Arabella and Embarrassing, could we borrow said pressure gun. I'm sure the Bluestocking will pay reasonable hire charges, we just need to know if you'll supply the PPE (heavy duty please)

ArabellaScott · 29/06/2021 18:06

Yes, I plan to bathe in it like a sozzled Cleopatra.

Olderbadger1 · 29/06/2021 18:22

I might go for a sozzled Cleo Laine - more class & more talent.

BatmansBat · 29/06/2021 18:22

I was about to ask if it was too early for a drink and am delighted to find people here!

Arabella and Embarrassing, will you be needing the full 5 gallons or could I have a large jug?

lazylinguist · 29/06/2021 18:23

Ahhh bathing in Pimm's? I knew venturing into this establishment was a good idea. Hoping the camel won't be bathing in it too though.

ArabellaScott · 29/06/2021 18:26

It's a bottomless Pimms tank, afaik, dive in!

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 29/06/2021 19:28

Did someone mention a kettle drum full of Pimms? In which case my dry weekdays are no more, and I'm turning up with a large mug.

Though of course, I'm only really here to look after the camel. I'll make sure it (I've still not checked) stays out of the booze supplies.

Knackering day at work today. Nothing in particular, but we're all counting down to the end of term.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 29/06/2021 20:34

I hope people liked the bits and pieces I left out - sorry for the lack of notice. I've only just finished another meeting.

I'm having 30mins of frivolity before starting my next one. It's better than last week when I was finishing them at 01:00 and starting again at 06:00 but it's hard to fit in the humdrum of daily life around this schedule.

SpringCrocus · 29/06/2021 20:51

Blimey, its hard enough fighting TRAs IRL, without having arguements with assumed GC feminists on here.
IBC of Pimms, please.

theThreeofWeevils · 29/06/2021 21:20

You'll get dreadfully sticky. The fluff will get stuck to you when you're rolled up in that carpet. Most uncomfortable.

The camel looks happier now, though.
So will I after a pint or several (not Pimms).

Olderbadger1 · 29/06/2021 22:54

Are camels actually capable of looking happier?

ErrolTheDragon · 29/06/2021 22:58

Anything (good) is possible at The Bluestocking.

Yes.

Still Blue, Still Stocking: The Bluestocking remains open in 2021
Olderbadger1 · 29/06/2021 23:44

Bit of a plaque problem there. Halitosis as well as the farting then. Who the hell brought the camel in the first place?

SpringCrocus · 30/06/2021 00:04

Camels tend to have terrible bad breath

BlackeyedSusan · 30/06/2021 03:07

debating whetehr to have gin or cocoa... as I am likely to be getting a visit from the police at some point as a witness to arson probably better be the cocoa...

lazylinguist · 30/06/2021 07:37

Any Bluestocking fans of Pratchett might be pleased to know that a second series of Good Omens has been announced, with the brilliant John Finnemore on the writing team!

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 30/06/2021 07:44

Who the hell brought the camel in the first place
I think it was Arabella. In her pocket with a crumpled Marlboro.

DaisiesandButtercups · 30/06/2021 07:45

Ooh that is exciting lazylinguist I am pleased about a second series of Good Omens and this is news to me. The whole family enjoyed watching the first series together.

John Finnemore is revered in our house so that is even better news!

I must admit to having lost respect for Neil Gaiman in recent times.

highame · 30/06/2021 07:58

It's a crap weather day, so have let in the ranty farters. Found LOJ in amongst so have left him with the camel who smells even worse (damp camel fur is awful). Should I offer him breakfast (the camel, not LOJ)

Turned · 30/06/2021 07:59

I’ve made coffee and tea, and there’s some of Embarrassing’s excellent sour cream loaf ready to go under the grill. Just going to check on the camel and bring some strawberries up from the garden, if there are any left after all the Pimms last night.

lazylinguist · 30/06/2021 08:06

Same here on all counts.

No breakfast for LOJ. Shame about the weather - I have glorious sunshine irl. Since we're virtual, perhaps I could bring it? I definitely fancy breakfast in the pub garden.

ArabellaScott · 30/06/2021 08:19

OJ for breakfast - continental today, then, is it?
