Come on over the feminist chat - there are no guidelines there

Did you know you are now on the naughty step with special rules for what you can and can not post?

Why would anyone start a thread in sex and gender and who are MNHQ to arbitrarilly move someone's thread.

As I am opposed to any form of segregation I suggest we just boycott this forum and stick with feminist chat which has the added bonus of no rules.

And as no one has bothered to explain what has happened how can they tell me or anyone else we are in the wrong.

I see Mumsnet has been very magnanimous in allowing us to talk about sex and science here...

I can't even see feminist chat, from what I can see on the app is that feminist chat has been renamed 'sex and gender' and feminist chat doesn't exist as a new board.

We knew this was happening but a heads-up that the change was taking place today would have been nice.

Does 'sex and gender' have talk guidelines? Does Feminist chat? Which threads fall into which board?

I guess this will take shape in coming days and threads will be moved about between the boards.

This was at request of (redacted) who are upset that some threads are more active than others. Unfucking believable to allow one's company to be used as a tool by trolls.

FWIW I'm as GC as they come, but Mumsnet isn't a public service, they don't have to host these discussions at all. That they have done so for all the long years when no one else would is something we should all acknowledge and appreciate.

They haven't stopped you from posting, but if it relates to sex v gender then they have separate rules which apply to this section. Otherwise it's general talk guidelines

I just don't see it that way. Both boards are under FWR, and the S&G is likely to continue to be the busiest because, at the moment, that is what most of us are interested in.

I disagree. There are lots of interesting threads in FemChat too, where sex and gender is also important and being discussed.

I don't usually agree with Quaggar, but I agree that MN had effectively made trans and non-trans board - I don't understand why MNHQ isn't more honest about that in the naming, it would make it much simpler to understand what to post where.

But 'Sex and Gender'? Surely the vast amount of feminist topics come under this umbrella? When they had 'feminist chat' and then all the other boards last time they messed about everybody just posted to feminist chat anyway - it made no difference. I suspect that is what will happen again tbh. Going to be some busy modding shuttling those threads back and forth.
