I’m just wondering why this experiment took place? Is it’s goal to enable the male pregnancy?

Well it goes to show you need the full female body to make a pregnancy last. They're a bit stuffed if it means attaching them to females. Be a really strange world seeing women everywhere surgically attached to male bodies.

Poor rats man

OneEpisode · 17/06/2021 15:34

They inbred the rats so they were genetically very similar.
They conjoined them, which meant they had no natural movement,
And then the uterus business
Tack.

Borka · 17/06/2021 15:35

Fucking hell, what a horrible and pointless experiment.

OneEpisode · 17/06/2021 15:35

yack. More articulate expressions of disgust are available.

partyatthepalace · 17/06/2021 15:36

I can’t imagine that was the motivation.

I hope there was a good reason though, because that is pretty cruel.

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/06/2021 15:38

Boak from me.

What a dreadful, cruel thing to do for no good reason.

Imnobody4 · 17/06/2021 15:39

At this point I'm more concerned about the rats. What a cruel, pointless sadistic use of science. Goes hand in hand with the treatment of Uyghur muslims. Sometimes the future really scares me.

quiteathome · 17/06/2021 15:42

I don't even understand why anyone would even think about doing that. It is unnecessary and cruel.

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/06/2021 15:44

Goes hand in hand with the treatment of Uyghur muslims.

Except I'm fairly sure there are equally repulsive experiments going in in various non-Chinese labs.

Absolutely Sad

BoatsBoatsBOOOATS · 17/06/2021 15:49

Anyone else open this thread expecting to see this,

Instead it’s some sort of Human Centipede inspired nightmare! Sad

WhiteFeministWarMachine · 17/06/2021 15:52

Absolutely revolting.

DinoHat · 17/06/2021 15:53

What a cruel, pointless sadistic use of science.

Exactly. Who on earth funds this shit?

ArrrMeHearties · 17/06/2021 15:54

That is honestly revolting

WarOnWoman · 17/06/2021 15:59

I'm not fond of rats but that is an exceptionally cruel and unusual treatment of animals in the name of science . It made me heave just reading the description.

And yes, OP, there's no other reason to do.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/06/2021 16:02

That's horrible and I really can't see a useful application for it either to justify the cruelty. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

Bells3032 · 17/06/2021 16:06

Sadly the Chinese has very little regulation on the use of animals in experimentation. Honestly this is appalling and i doubt there's any scientific validity to it

VettiyaIruken · 17/06/2021 16:09

What the actual fuck was the point of that torture?
What possible purpose could it serve?
Barbaric.

Wannabangbang · 17/06/2021 16:10

The Chinese government has a lot to answer for and this is another nail in the coffin. Messing with nature here comes covid 21 sometime soon.

FrankButchersDickieBow · 17/06/2021 16:42

Sick, twisted fuckers.

Ozymandias101 · 17/06/2021 17:31

I can't see what useful knowledge was gained here. It's not like the male rat could 'give birth', and as pp have observed, it just shows that a female rat is required to make a pregnancy viable. We all knew that already.

Bored sadists torturing helpless animals is all we have here.

AdultHumanWhale · 17/06/2021 21:01

If they transplant a uterus into a male body (rat/monkey/elephant/human...) It's still a female uterus.
'Male uterus'. No, I don't think so.

What an utterly cruel and pointless experiment. Rats feel pain, and they can be very clever.
They're not unthinking, unfeeling creatures! That must have been torture to go through.
Not only do they have the surgeries to join them together, to separate them later, C-section births for both rats, surgery to block the female rat from giving birth naturally, and the surgery to implant the uterus into the male rat... The male rats would surely have had pain from the growth of the foetuses, their bodies are not designed to expand to accommodate babies!

The whole thing makes me sick.

MouseyTheVampireSlayer · 17/06/2021 21:07

Animal testing is usually unnecessary or doesn't produce meaningful results.

ArabellaScott · 17/06/2021 21:14

And this is no doubt now going to be used by some people as 'evidence' that males can give birth. Because if you don't care about ethics or the wellbeing of the living beings involved, so much more is medically 'possible'.
