TW in Limerick prison wants their sentence reduced

Apparently 6 years is too long after they were convicted of assaulting their 4 year old stepson over a two year period.

Also in the appeal the courts should have taken into account that prison is so hard when you’re trans.

Meant to add that they’re housed with the women in Limerick (of course) and they are reported not to have any surgery or be on hormones.

Horrifying. That poor little child. I cannot believe this is recorded as a crime committed by a woman.

Shameful

Drinkingallthewine · 26/02/2021 18:14

"The trial heard that the offender was male at birth but started to recognise an issue with gender identity around the time of the offences."

of course they did Hmm once they realised they would be a target in a man's prison so instead they moved them to a prison that only houses 26 inmates and one there is already a TW - the lovely lady who tried to gouge out her social worker's eyes while she was driving.
Ideal cell-mates I would say.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 26/02/2021 18:18

The trial heard that the offender was male at birth but started to recognise an issue with gender identity around the time of the offences

What a surprise.

argued before the Court of Appeal today that the sentencing judge did not have sufficient regard to the difficulties his client, as a transgender woman, would have in prison

Sick of 'trans' being used as some sort of get out of jail free card. Difficulties? What about those poor fucking women stuck in prison with a fully intact adult male child abuser.
Fuck off with making out that transwomen are some poor benign delicate fragile creatures who deserve special treatment.

6 years for ruining a child's life is a fucking joke.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 26/02/2021 18:20

Putting a Male sexual deviant into a women's prison......

Stop the fucking planet.

happydappy2 · 26/02/2021 18:28

'Before she transitioned to a female she began a relationship with the victim's mother and moved into the family home where she took the role of a "step-father'

Is this person living as a woman, or taking the role of step father?

This is horrendous-where are the Irish relatives of these women, I would be protesting outside the prison if I lived nearby.

workshy44 · 26/02/2021 18:38

Anyone else notice they always "transition" around the time of the offences or during the trial
Never on hormones or have surgery either
I wonder if it is going to become more common for men to use this ruse to get out of longer sentences they deserve and serve time in what they consider to be a cushier prison

7Days · 26/02/2021 18:40

A fuckin joke

BarbaraofKent · 26/02/2021 18:40

So they are appealing based on the fact they are trans, ie. That is the reason they should get a shorter sentence? Because it is 'difficult' for them to be in prison?

Also Hmm at 'the woman' and 'she' throughout that article.

BarbaraofKent · 26/02/2021 18:41

Also, isn't Barbie Kardashian in the women's prison in Limerick as well?

In which the same person got very different sentences for the same offence (child sex images). One as a man and another as transgender.

[quote XXSex]Two TW in Limerick prison. Might be joined by a third...

Well then, that might be the answer. Turn Limerick into the TW prison for all those who have a gender epiphany on the occasion of being caught for their crimes and move all the other female-at-birth prisoners to the Dochas center.

Ideal solution really. Because I'm sure there's a few more lads on the sex offenders wing in Portlaoise who are currently questioning their gender identity.

XXSex · 26/02/2021 19:08

I like it! There’s space for 28 of them. Assuming it’ll be filled up by 2023.

Described as 'vulnerable' Hmm
Had been suppressing their 'true identity'

elgreco · 26/02/2021 19:15

Sooooo Vunerable and not in the least bit violent.

More to the point, as an opportunity to continue their perverted crimes while inside. People forget that the primary purpose of a prison is to keep people locked up so that potential victims are safe.
AdHominemNonSequitur · 26/02/2021 21:11

They haven't won the appeal though? It'll never happen....

notyourhandmaid · 26/02/2021 21:20

I am so angry at this and angry that more people aren't angry about it, or perhaps are afraid to say so.

It is such an obvious and predictable consequence of self-ID and I am tired of the gaslighting around this ('it'll never happen').

7Days · 26/02/2021 22:35

Local radio, local newspapers (and start supporting them), letters to councillors, tds and senators.

They all think Twitter is where it's at. No. We cant rely on Dorseys political whims. But direct communication is outside of anyone elses control.

SarahGoode · 26/02/2021 23:45

You're dead right @7Days. Letters to TDs is far more effective.

7Days · 26/02/2021 23:51

How will they know what we think unless we tell them?

Cailleach1 · 27/02/2021 00:40

He sexually abused or raped a 4 year old. Carried on for two years.

And they're going on about the rapist and his special feels and needs.
