It's a good job we're not playing a drinking game that required taking a drink every time Stonewall was mentioned, because we'd all be paralytic and possibly need getting our stomachs pumped.

Yup. Im assuming it will all be ignored though.

all the questions are basically 'how can it be made to work better for trans people oh and and women too I guess as an after thought'

HecatesCatsInXmasHats · 09/12/2020 16:26

Every other trans policy is like that Kit. Was looking into the West Midlands Police policy on intimate searching amid the row over 'inappropriate' photos of a trans officer and found that their policy is to allow trans officers to carry out searches on people of the sex the officer identifies with, unless that makes the trans officer feel uncomfortable, not the person being intimately searched! Feels like something of a metaphor.

Kit19 · 09/12/2020 16:32

god I'm embarrassed for the women on this committee - have they done any homework on this at all?

Kit19 · 09/12/2020 16:33

yes! absence of evidence isnt evidence of absence

ArabellaScott · 09/12/2020 16:34

Kafka-esque, Rosa, yes, quite.

Also noting the mismatch between the apparent intelligence levels and discursive abilities between Stock, Freedman and Sullivan and ...all the others.

Kit19 · 09/12/2020 16:35

fucking love Rosa

how stupid was that woman asking the question

HecatesCatsInXmasHats · 09/12/2020 16:36

Blimey that MP just wasn't listening to Rosa or Kathleen. She seemed quite hard of understanding on the points they were making about both the evidence and the meaning of what they were saying.

Kit19 · 09/12/2020 16:37

how they are remaining calm I dont know.....

ArabellaScott · 09/12/2020 16:37

If they are lookiing for data, please send the one about sex offenders in prison specifically transwomen, too.

Thanks so much for the live stream for those of us who can't watch this!

HecatesCatsInXmasHats · 09/12/2020 16:38

Also she's supposed to do some background work on this herself isn't she?!

ArabellaScott · 09/12/2020 16:38

And this one maybe

fucking hell - what have their personal opinions on whether TWAW or TMAM got to do with anything?

they basically want them to say they dont agree so they can disregard what they're saying on the basis its "transphobic"

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/12/2020 16:39

Who was she? She wasn't being hard of understanding at all, she was trying to get it in the record that Rosa et al were lying about tw crime rates, and that there was no evidence.
ArabellaScott · 09/12/2020 16:40

Dunno, Hecate, she seems really angry that Stock and Freedman didn't have all these stats directly to hand.

This committee is blithering uninformed.

Talk about closed minds

Kit19 · 09/12/2020 16:40

i also note the male MP was insisting that stonewall gained no advantage even though they had personal meetings with MPs on many occasions

"grown up adults" hahaha burn!

ArabellaScott · 09/12/2020 16:41

'grown up adults do not speak in slogans' - thank you, Alice.

That is shocking (I'm a bit behind everyone).

Rosa answering very well.

There seems to be a lot of trying to make things appear in the minutes, that can be used later.
ArabellaScott · 09/12/2020 16:43

Rosa makes a very good point, that she is there to give her expert opinion, not her personal opinion

Thingybob · 09/12/2020 16:44

Thank-you Rosa, Kathleen and Alice
