It's supposed to be totes hilares, encouraging people to attack women with food at Christmas. Apparently abusing women is 'comedic' as long as it's done with food.

You're not allowed to know what a woman is on Twitter, but an account with 71k followers is allowed to post shit like this. I don't care if it's 'only food', it's blatant disregard for women, that it's okay to treat them like shit as long as you disagree with them. They've obviously never heard of escalation.

Imagine the uproar if we suggested humiliating and degrading transpeople at Christmas in this way. We'd be literal murderers. I'm so fucking sick of the double standards.

I actually found that article quite sad to read, especially when I saw it had been written by a young woman. It literally reads like someone who has been indoctrinated into a cult or something. There is so much bitterness in there, such a complete lack of even trying to understand an opposing view, you can almost feel the sense of pride from her that she is 'saying the right thing' and being a 'good girl'.

So many young women like this now, so polarised, so lacking in independent though, just wanting to be in the 'right tribe'.

It was like it was written by a 10 year old. And yes, double standards much...

I do hope her relatives have a read and act accordingly.

One of the lines says something like "throw the turkey at the TERF, but only if you have the upper body strength!" and my immediate thought was 'well, if you're a male there will be very little problems there."

But let's go through these wonderful talking points. I'm sure these will get the radical feminists incredibly flustered.

"The gender binary isn’t real!" Well, it depends what you mean by 'real'. It's a social construct, but arguably it is 'real' because the patriarchy imposes a dualistic gender system on the human race in order to oppress females and to benefit males. Taken literally, if the gender binary isn't real then what, exactly, are trans people transitioning to?

"Violent men CAN actually just walk into women’s bathrooms whenever they want, irrespective of whether we allow trans women to pee in peace."
Nothing is physically stopping violent men from walking into women's bathrooms, but once they are in there they sure as shit are liable to get into a lot of trouble if any woman sees them and calls security. However, if we remove safeguards and encourage women to ignore their instincts (if you see someone who think doesn't belong leave them alone!) then men absolutely will take advantage of this. What is this argument supposed to prove? That rape and sexual assault happens anyway so we should attempt absolutely no safeguarding measures at all? Why are the safety concerns of trans women treated seriously while women are not? If a trans woman is scared at the prospect of being assaulted in a male toilet, can't I just shrug and say "well look there's nothing we can do about it, violent men are going to go into any toilet they please so..."

That sounds a bit transphobic. I thought that trans people weren't born into the wrong bodies, and they are female if they say they are ? It's pretty offensive to say that you need gender dysphoria in order to be trans. Aren't you aware that trans isn't a mental condition?

What do you mean by valid in this context? Sorry, my only real experience with this concept is in formal logic.

Yes. I did think maybe I was overreacting a bit, but had to have a word with myself. It's never okay to advocate for any sort of aggression against women.

I think the writer think she's being cute because it's only 'cartoony' aggression she's calling for. Like I say, there'd be uproar, and rightly so, if a feminist were to write a piece giving people tips on how to abuse and humiliate transpeople.

I don't see why women should be banned left, right and centre for talking about our specific issues, yet shit like this is acceptable.

Not overreacting at all. The call is for anyone who doesn’t fawn over you to be attacked and assaulted- and humiliated - in front of family. To be, what, ostracised?

It’s all very drama llama behaviour - hysterical behaviour where the aim is to appear the victim and have everyone flock around you, patting your back, stroking your hair and saying how right you are and how awful the others are.

I worked with someone like this - every day some new flipping drama and our idiot boss treated and indulged her like the golden child.

I hope all these TERFY relatives write these knobheads out of their wills...
