"Women's" Cricket; Kent CC squad including a man

Kent County Cricket has yet again, even after protests last year, awarded a squad place to Maxine Blythin.
For those who don't know Maxine, they are a transgender woman, who doesn't live 'fully as a woman', has had no surgery nor reduced their testosterone levels. Maxine was, nonetheless, awarded the Kent County Cricket Woman's Player of the Year for 2019.

Last year, Maxine also enjoyed playing as Max on alternate weekend days in a mediocre men's team.
Let's compare stats for 2019, as Max playing as a Man vs 'Woman'':

Chesham Second XI men's team (mediocre village team):
8 matches, 79 runs in total, highest score 44, average 13.16

Kent women's county cricket team (semi-pro women's team, earning £££s):
8 matches, 629 runs in total, highest score 152*, average 104.83

Crystal clear proof that men competing in women's sports is NOT fair.

This needs some loud protests from those who care about women's sports.

Switching back and forth in the same year between playing men's and women's cricket, mediocre in a village men's 2nd 11, player of the year in the women's professional team. Taking the place (and money) intended for a top woman player.

I wonder what the condition is? I’d be interested to know what condition makes you eligible to play on the men’s team and then the womens team in quick succession. One teams doctor isn’t very observant.

I believe in Scotland it will soon be - if not already - illegal to ask anyone to back up any sex claims. You can’t ask. At all. It will be on the new hate crime law too.

Isn't it fascinating that somehow the open team only has men playing on it and one cricketer who identifies as male for most of the week apart from when playing for a professional women's team?

I'm not too into cricket - getting there, but definitely more ODIs and Tests than county cricket at the moment - but I've never really heard of Open cricket.

Yep, you got that right. The sad thing is is that Maxine's teammates, by association, are tarnishing their reputations. Everyone knows Kent CC are cheating. It is unfortunately going to take someone very brave to stand up against this.

Actually the Maxine case is probably more aligned with Hannah Mouncey, who was on, but ended up leaving, the Australian Women's Handball team. Hannah threw a tantrum when told female teammates had raised objections to sharing change-rooms last year... the coach was firm.. so Hannah left. Odd isn't it...

That I believe was a new rule to gender balance things like Boardrooms. They snuck in a bit around you could say you are a woman, not have to present as one (eh?), live as one (wtf?) - just self ID and no one was allowed to actually ask ‘so on what basis are you a woman?’.

Job done eh? Quicker and easier than getting pesky women into positions of influence and power (and let’s not forget the sex pay gap).

I’m sure they actually got the idea from Private Eye.

Cases like this are clearly discriminating against women in their own sports. Legally, is there a challenge here?

In the States they are challenging this and are winning. Don't know a huge amount it but they're using federal law to override state law.

In the States young girls have far more to lose I think because the scholarships for colleges are financially huge - and boys will be taking these away, without taking hormones and I suspect as soon as they graduate they'll quietly give it up..

In the U.K. there's not much on this. Rugby World have conducted an extensive research programme concluding that reducing testosterone does not detract from the effects of Male puberty. They will most likely ban transgender women from playing rugby with females on the grounds of safety. Transmen will be allowed to play in the men's team but they will have to sign a legal waiver beforehand.
No other sports body has dared to speak up or conduct any evidence-based research.

"That condition means I'm eligible to play women's sport at any level, in any sport, naturally," she says.

But how can they say that when they apparently don't even know what "condition" they have? And they'd be wrong anyway. If they really do have a disorder of sexual development then that wouldn't make them a woman or entitled to play sports as a woman. All it would mean is that they were a male with a disorder of sexual development. I'm so sick of people misrepresenting what DSDs are and using them as a shield for their entitled behaviour when it's obvious they don't have the first fucking clue about the matter.

Good move from Maxine though. A 6'4 male playing women's sports isn't a sympathetic figure to anyone other than the most egregious of misogynists. Add in an unspecified "condition" that doctors have verified but not diagnosed, or whatever it was, and suddenly anyone questioning it looks like a big meanie.

That person got in. Is now one of the two from that district, a predominantly black one. In the past the two would have had to be male and female, now they are two white male-bodied people.

An experienced black female politician lost to emilia or whatever the name was. A truly unpleasant entitled brat who loves this because he hates women.
