Has been suspended from twitter. He has been a great ally - as you can imagine there is a bit of a party going on over there.

Well said Datun. That thread was something else.

Thanks for not getting too angry about these little arseholes calling me your leader! As someone said, it really shows the depths of their misogyny that they think women need one on a matter concerning THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS.

It's always so transparent and reflects their misogynistic beliefs about women.

I used to laugh.

AnyFucker · 27/06/2020 13:48

You should also consider restricting posting access to FWR as you do for the Sex topic.

Yeah.

doublehalo · 27/06/2020 13:54

It's been 'reported' on front page of Guardian website alongside an article about the new head of Stonewall who says.. 'we don’t need people to agree on what constitutes womanhood...' Grin.

She also sets out how they intend to pursue the trans agenda in the future which reads like even more gaslighty bullshit than before.

Good to know their roadmap relies on fake statistics about public acceptance and discrimination against trans people.

Haveastock · 27/06/2020 13:58

Sometimes I feel things are moving forward... I come on here a bit buoyed-up - progress is being made. And then I have a Father Kevin moment... Keep strong Glinner. Thanks for standing by us and speaking up. m.youtube.com/watch?v=1NjISA-FIIA

I've set up an account on Parler just in case. I retweet and reply to tweets mostly so my chances of being banned are slim, but if everyone I follow has gone then there's no point being there.

Hulo · 27/06/2020 14:02

I wonder what they think will change.

Do they think that with Glinner gone (hopefully not forever) we'll stop? I'll miss him like I'll miss every GC voice that has been silenced but it's not going to affect me.

Bella2020 · 27/06/2020 14:04

I'm only just reading about this now. I'm so sorry, @glinner. I can't thank you enough for all that you do. Hooe you're ok.

ChattyLion · 27/06/2020 14:07

Did you friend also see Goody Proctor dancing with the devil?

I appreciate this will make me unpopular, or be called a troll, but I hope to be able to calmly explain the issue. I am a mother of 4. I hardly post on here, as my youngest is now 11.

@Glinner I am sure you believe you are being a good ally to women, but have got mislead somewhere along the way. It should not be an "us" (non trans) vs "them" (trans) mentality. Trans women have been allowed in female changing rooms, toilets etc for around a decade. There hasn't been a spike in crimes due to this, in fact most people didn't even realise it was already happening. Targeting trans women with abuse, accusing them of grooming, is using the same rhetoric that was used about gay people just a few decades ago. It is not defending women's human rights. If anything, it is causing more of a backlash against feminists, as many are getting tarred with the same transphobic brush. So please, step away from posting about this issue for a while. There is plenty to be frustrated or worried about right now, but let's be decent to fellow human beings.

nauticant · 27/06/2020 14:45

The "them" is trans activists.

bakingberry · 27/06/2020 14:49

@ShyPhilosopher

I couldn't agree more. Feminism is being used as a cover for the anti trans movement and tarring is all with the same brush. I feel like we've became this mans puppet.

Can I enquire as to your opinion on the large number of FtMtF ‘detransitioners’ who are starting to speak out? Feminism is for them too, so even if you aren’t bothered by males who identify as females, they are surely still your concern? Your concern as a feminist, I mean?

Doyoumind · 27/06/2020 14:53

Do you really want the legal definition of sex to be erased Baking and Shy? It isn't just about where people go to the toilet. The TRAs want you to think that because it makes it easier for them to convince you.

Feminism is about females and I will always believe that.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/06/2020 14:54

ShyPhilosopher - most of that time was before the notion of 'self id' became widespread. If you don't think that maters I'm afraid you're woefully naive. Now we're in an era where many of the sorts of transwomen you're probably thinking of are labelled by the trans activists as 'truscum' and vilified - even, in one case, bizarrely and unsuccessfully taken to court by a female trans activist for 'transphobia'.

WhoWants2Know · 27/06/2020 14:55

I'm feeling like it might be time I deactivated my Twitter. I used to have a lot of fun on there, but now it's like jumping into a cesspit with a wet wipe and hoping to make a difference.

Helmetbymidnight · 27/06/2020 14:55

just as glinner doesnt speak for me - nor does he try too- you dont speak fo me either, shyphilosopher and as a feminist i have grave concerns about self id and trans ideology - esp what its doing to young girls and the erasure of womens spaces and sports. i very much admire anyone who speaks up about this- left/right/male/female- not least because the actual shit they get thrown at them for doing so.

nauticant · 27/06/2020 14:56

This is what the "right side of history" looks like:

twitter.com/meloyumex/status/1276289094725836802

It's these hate-driven misogynists who are using aggressive tactics to remove safeguarding from women's single sex spaces and from around children.

PurpleCrowbarWhereIsLangCleg · 27/06/2020 14:58

I speak for myself & my daughters, & I'm glad Glinner has been speaking up for our rights too.

Helmetbymidnight · 27/06/2020 15:01

I feel like we've became this mans puppet.

you genuinely think no woman came to their own conclusions about what changing the word woman to include everyone means without glinner?

unbelievable.

AskDan · 27/06/2020 15:05

Shyphilosopher - you say let's be descent to fellow human beings.

It is just another way of saying "be kind" and by that you really mean "prioritise the men".

We live in an age where woman has become a dirty word and replaced by terms such as menstrator. How can we stand up for our rights if we cant name ourselves.

bakingberry · 27/06/2020 15:07

*you genuinely think no woman came to their own conclusions about what changing the word woman to include everyone means without glinner?

unbelievable.*

This would have been a great response if that's what I'd said.

I think thats a good idea

Helmetbymidnight · 27/06/2020 15:09

ok, maybe try and elaborate a bit on this?
