Some quite spectacular redirecting going on in this thread.
I read, for my sins, all forty pages of the Site Stuff thread, including the OP and the many subsequent posts written by Justine.
She was very clear. The reason for the precipitate rollout of a half-baked subscription premium membership is falling ad revenues caused by the Covid 19 pandemic. The main fixed cost is staffing at £350k per month and even furloughing some staff and reduced hours for others isn't sufficient saving. There is little in the way of cash reserves because Justine wanted to buy others out and spentthe profit on that instead. This is also why the site continues to creak on in its antiquated infrastructure. Justine gave plenty of detail.
Nothing whatsoever to withthefeminismboard causing revenue loss.
Some regulars on the feminist board consider the site too untrustworthy to provide personal data for payments and/or feel that the management is too censorious for them to pay for the privilege of providing the content that the site makes its revenue from. So they have declined Justine's Premium Membership offer.
Again, nothing whatsoever to do with the feminism board causing revenue loss.
So I don't know why we've had half a dozen pages discussing this possibility. It's nothing to do with the Premium Membership offer - unless we all think Justine just made up the pandemic-fucking-the-economy stuff off the top of her head. I'm sure nobody actually thinks that, especially if they have super-special insider knowledge. I can't imagine why anyone would want to redirect the discussion to the feminism board causing revenue loss - which has nothing to do with anything - over half a dozen pages... or perhaps I can.
