Is this getting thawing yet?

ScrimshawTheSecond · 04/03/2020 12:45

I'm just hoping, if Prawn is worried about being run under cold water, that nobody mentions what happens once defrostification is complete.

It's like a sort of seafood gulag, Prawn, you'll love it! Plenty of dressing and a nice bed of lettuce to rest on ... Confused

Datun · 04/03/2020 13:36

Nut free, though.

🤣

Shrimplification.

JollyYellaHumberElla · 04/03/2020 19:13

I love and celebrate all seafood equally.

But I don’t want to find a surprise cockle in my prawn-avo.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 04/03/2020 22:34

Well, we got through that post without anybody mentioning winkles.

Well done, all.

FemaleAndLearning · 04/03/2020 22:42

Defrost in cold water. End
No debate.

Languishingfemale · 04/03/2020 22:55

Excuse me FemaleAndLearning I am going to mussel you off this thread if you insist on such totalitarian scallops as #nodebate . Wink

SW16 · 05/03/2020 03:19

“Well, we got through that post without anybody mentioning winkles.

You’re whelk-come.

Lamahaha · 05/03/2020 04:13

There's not much I can add to this conversation, but I need to mussle in just to ask if anyone has mentioned crabs?

Now, THOSE can be not only defrosted in cold water but boiled live, so do be careful.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for literal violence you commit on yourself.

Didactylos · 05/03/2020 11:17

The main question surely is what you do once they are defrosted?
is there any way to combine them with Weetabix and/or bananas?

vesuvia · 05/03/2020 14:09

Take the minimal effort approach - leave the prawns to defrost slowly at room temperature.

On second thawts, this only works if you are not pushed for time.

ItsLateHumpty · 05/03/2020 14:24

We all just need to clam down 🦪

ScrimshawTheSecond · 05/03/2020 14:26

Prawnabix. Warm water. Bananas. Pom bears. It's a Mumsnet dinner party. Confused

quixote9 · 06/03/2020 00:45

You don't need to defrost at all unless they're frozen into a solid block. If they're loose and frozen, into the saucepan with them, and don't overcook. That's all there is to it.

Once cooked these prawns will self identify as women. They now have little pink bodies obviously!
