Harry Miller on Politics North this morning

The marvellous hero that is Harry Miller has just been on our local BBC politics programme . Jane Fae was also a guest...

I just wanted to express support and gratitude to HM if he ever peruses MN.

Did anyone else in the north see the programme? He made fantastic points about debate and being silenced or having your thinking checked in an Orwellian style. He also quite clearly stated that 'woman means adult human female'.

Thanks for the heads up - I think this should be available on catch up on iPlayer?

EwwSprouts · 01/03/2020 10:57

Agree he was excellent. Edward Leigh reverted to 'be kind' which I thought was a cop out as the context of government consultation over GRA had been mentioned. Good to hear Jane Fae support safeguarding as a top priority.

Yes we must be kind at all times despite that fact it may stifle debate and discussion in a civilised manner between adults..

Jane Fae seemed to be suggesting that children need to be protected from rational discussion and critical thinking! She seems to think that the many children that I have taught over my career as a teacher are in danger from me because I don't believe that they can magically change sex.

Just starting to watch this now. I do admire the fortitude of Harry. Keeping up this level of energy is hard work.

koshkatt · 01/03/2020 11:33

Yes this is the narrative that is blossoming where I teach too.

OvaHere · 01/03/2020 11:47

So Fae has cottoned onto our arguments about safeguarding and is predictably twisting it's meaning.

A reminder for anyone not familiar with Fae and their passions. Fae is an extreme porn advocate and is or has previously been involved in organisations that campaign for 16 year olds to feature in violent and extreme porn.

Harry is brilliant.

“We absolutely kicked their asses. Wait - can I say asses?”
Host “Well you just did”

Languishingfemale · 01/03/2020 12:08

I'm always Hmm when anyone with an interest in extreme porn decides to lecture others on safeguarding.
However, as the understanding and determination to safeguard children is usually absent in favour of a wish to erode safeguarding and access children to promote a preferred ideology, it only takes seconds to expose this.

Strangerthantruth · 01/03/2020 12:14

Well done Harry, sounded good.

GiantKitten · 01/03/2020 12:22

Leigh is a typical two-faced Tory apparently Hmm

thenightsky · 01/03/2020 12:28

Leigh is my MP. I wrote to him about the GRA many moons ago after being educated here on FWR. I got no reply.

theflushedzebra · 01/03/2020 12:34

Jane Fae trying to draw parallels between Harry Miller and Ian Huntley is really disingenuous. Ian Huntley had previously been accused of sex crimes against young girls - crimes which hadn't gone any further than reporting, and hence didn't show up on a DBD check. He wasn't just sending tweets.

Harry's last statement is really powerful:

"Sex matters. All of my tweets were in the context of trying to remove the long established definition of what a woman is, which is an adult human female, and the attempts to criminalise that definition. You lost. You tried and you lost. You employed the police and we absolutely kicked their arses."

Hear hear Harry.

EwwSprouts · 01/03/2020 12:34

Totally this. Asked Harry something along the lines of DBS came after Soham don't you think we should have it?

theflushedzebra · 01/03/2020 12:36

*DBS check

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 01/03/2020 12:42

The female MP was incredibly rude. Wouldn't even look at the person speaking to her (Harry).

Also, GTFO with the "be nice all the time even in case you think there is a whisper of a breath of a hint of a potential person being annoyed by a word on twitter".

Has she not seen how twitter treats women, for fuck's sake?

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 01/03/2020 12:43

See Jane Fae desperately trying to link Harry to people like Ian/Lian Huntley. Tragic.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 01/03/2020 12:44

In other news, I have recently been struck by the very different and striking difference between male and female hairlines and how they change over the years.

thenightsky · 01/03/2020 13:16

buzz I've found myself pondering that too over the last hour.

Michelleoftheresistance · 01/03/2020 13:17

Gah, be kind is always used to validate coercing female people to place the needs of male people above their own. It's sheer sexism. It basically means 'women, know your place'.

There is never exhortation about being kind to people born female.

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/03/2020 14:00

Oh, well done @HazzaTheOwl !

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 01/03/2020 14:04

Harry - you did brilliantly! So clear and firm and confident.

And oh my god isn’t JF creepy?

littlbrowndog · 01/03/2020 14:14

Fae on how to clear your hard drive that has extreme porn

Fae on safeguarding 🤦‍♀️

HazzaTheOwl · 01/03/2020 14:52

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone. JF was a total nob... linking me to Ian Huntley, throwing bananas at a football match, and safeguarding. When I saw him on screen, I very nearly laughed. How the hell does he think he’s anything other than a bloke?
