Have just seen this on facebook and am totally taken aback. She is listed as a speaker here www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/womens-liberation-at-50-tickets-75905313837

Everyone of the other speaker if they go ahead and dont protest should be totally ashamed of themselves.

This is her tweet twitter.com/selina_todd/status/1233456777057964035

Some of the women speaking are those I have told I should and I do admire.

This sickness that is dividing women is so upsetting.

Not sure where or how we can show our disgust at this and make sure they know they do not speak for women.

FFS, Tippex? Or is it redaction tape?
"Women, enjoy your erasure," as one of the oppressed stunning and brave put it.

It's awful that this is happening to Selina Todd, but it's also great to see the madness being brought into the public eye in all its glory.

Those who are still under the illusion that gender ideology is about protecting some oppressed or 'unwell' group of people need to wake up.
The genderists aren't satisfied with carving out exceptions for dysphoric people. The idea is to ban the recognition of sex altogether. Selina Todd's work is heresy to these people.

I'm sure most people reading this thread are familiar with Selina's talks at WPUK but if you've stumbled across this thread and wondered what all the fuss is about her, and how "terrible" her words are, here are some links:-

Sound quality isn't great on the second one but there are links to text transcripts of both talks below the films.

Good that there was a double post there, actually. I needed to read that twice.

The people responsible for this dishonest, cowardly series of actions ought to be ashamed of themselves.

On days like these, Selina's words resonate loudly:

I suspect that over the past year we have all had moments of despair – but our past shows that such moments can bring forth glorious movements and lasting change.

For anyone joining the thread now, you can slide the red line back to watch the challenges from the audience (inc Julie Bindel) and the organisers petulantly saying Selina was only ever supposed to speak for 2 minutes anyway:

Really curious to know what Sheila Rowbotham thinks about this.

It's at times like this that I really despair of some young women and I have to keep reminding myself that I too was a bit of a nob at their age. Anyway thank you Selena if you see this, and thank you Julie Bindel and all the other women shining a light.

Anyone know how to make an archive of the relevant part of the live stream or do we need to resort to filming the screen with a phone?

As ever, Kathleen Stock nails it:
Am thinking that after I've written my book, I'm going to write a small pamphlet for feminist conference organisers - How To Locate Your Spine .

Right, now have I got this right?

She was due to speak, but not to speak, and because she wasn't going to speak when she spoke, it seemed reasonable to ask her not to speak because some people who didn't want her to speak weren't going to speak if she spoke, even if she didn't speak.

Glad we've cleared that up.

Selina’s got loads of material and contacts, Julie Bindel is there, the entire audience is filled with informed and interesting women.

It would have been a hairy, flying by the seat of your pants 24 hours but I don’t believe for one minute that the organisers could not told the bullies to fuck off and filled the vacated slots.

Anyone who has been no platformed or cancelled themselves would have stepped up, I am sure of it.

Do we know anything about the other speakers whose names were tippexed out of the programme?

When one of the bullies is the PhD supervisor of one of the organisers, you can see the dilemma.

I think they could have found women who would have stepped in at the last minute. But even if they couldn't, they should have run it as was or called if off rather than giving into bullying. Bad call in every way.
