Keir Starmer has now signed the 'trans pledge

Every Labour leadership candidate has now signed a document that says women meeting to discuss women's issues is 'hateful' and something that must be 'fought against'.

FFS.

Sad

Starmer won't sign the pledge as he is going to win.

The others would never have signed if they thought they were going to win.

A purge of those dimensions would ruin Labour.

MaMaLa321 · 13/02/2020 15:41

but the pledge he signed was more or less the same, just left out the libellous bits. That's all.

R0wantrees · 13/02/2020 15:42

seems like even the lgbt pledge isnt woke enough for the woke stasi of the Labour party. Is this what it looks like when a political party cannibalizes itself?

It may be that the NUS Trans officers & delegates have graduated from student politics to party politics.
It does sound vaguely familiar Hmm

"I believe that male bodies become female when you say the magic words."

It truly is Trans-substatiation.

FredaFrogspawn · 13/02/2020 15:54

They are such cowards. If enough people say red is green enough times with enough threats If you don’t say you will support red is green, the majority will cave.

Where are the brave politicians?

Mossyrock · 13/02/2020 15:57

It may be that the NUS Trans officers & delegates have graduated from student politics to party politics.

I think that this is possible, R0wantrees. Politicised genderism has been on campuses for a few years now.

Alice Miller's well-known 'For Your Own Good' is one. Gita Serenay also wrote several excellent ones.

I'm going to check those out. Thanks Michelleoftheresistance

Lordfrontpaw · 13/02/2020 15:57

All to appease a small group.

Giving away rights that either aren’t yours to give or won’t effect you in your ivory tower.

Well done. Cheers. We won’t forget this, mate!

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 13/02/2020 16:00

Where are the brave politicians?

That's a contradiction of terms surely?

AliceDownARabbitHole · 13/02/2020 16:02

Oh well, labour won't be getting into power for a very long time then. Seems they learnt nothing from their defeat.

Mockersisrightasusual · 13/02/2020 16:04

Where are the brave politicians?

Well they can't be hiding, by definition.

So maybe there aren't any?

Whatisthisfuckery · 13/02/2020 17:05

Well then, Labour can officially fuck right off then. Guess I’m politically homeless until someone else fills the void.

Enjoy your years in the wilderness Labour. I’d tell you to #expellme but I already left, so fuck you.

R0wantrees · 13/02/2020 17:22

I think that this is possible, R0wantrees. Politicised genderism has been on campuses for a few years now.

Mossyrock Eden Ladley is the current NUS Trans Officer 2019/20 & one of the 21 founding signatories & there are a few current Young Labour Officers.

With all the attacks on safeguarding I would 100 percent want to know what my kids are being taught in SRE and reserve the right to remove them from it.

I haven't read the full thread yet, but just wanted to clarify this. Parents only have the right to remove children from the sex education part of statutory SRE, not the relationships aspects. The list of stuff you can remove you kids from is basically the "Intimate and sexual relationships, including sexual health" box (page 29) from the document linked below. Trans issues would form part of the teaching on protective characteristics, which comes under "respectful relationships, including friendships" and parents do not have the right to withdraw their child from that.

assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/805781/Relationships_Education__Relationships_and_Sex_Education__RSE__and_Health_Education.pdf

Please note that I'm not an expert on this (nor is anyone yet), my info comes from a training course run by the PSHE association who said they'd found it difficult to get any government representative to clarify exactly what the right to withdraw covers.

PerfectParrot · 13/02/2020 17:27

Sorry, should have said that I'm only talking about secondary schools. I've no idea what the rules are in primary.

ExEUCitizen · 13/02/2020 17:28

"Where are all the brave politicians?" It's not that there are no brave politicians, it's more that politicians don't give a shit about anything other than themselves and their "careers". We've been abandoned. At a time when more women are being killed, women are an increasing proportion of the total number of murder victims, and the already-appalling prosecution rate for rape is falling.

Women need similarly to abandon the left now, en masse.

Lordamighty · 13/02/2020 18:05

I wish an interviewer would be brave enough to call them out on this idiocy.
“So, RLB, LN,ET,KS if a 50 year old male sex offender self id’s as a woman, according to you, s/he is now exactly the same as a biological woman and would be allowed into female changing rooms & toilets?”
I would love to hear them all confirm that would be the case & anyone who disagrees is a transphobic bigot because the sooner this is aired in public the better.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 13/02/2020 18:20

FFS. What an absolute shower of shite the LP now is. Rebecca Wrong-Daily makes me so sad and mad all in one. They are a completely unelectable party and deservedly so and I say that as a hitherto lifelong LP supporter. Not any fucking more.

Evenquieterlife33 · 13/02/2020 18:25

I’ve seriously had it with Labour. It’s just a woke shit show and I’m not happy to settle for some peace meal least shite option now. I can see this tunnelling on for the next 4 years. Labour has eaten itself. Useful idiots completely unaware victims of pure entryism. I have no more sympathy. Stupidly of this level is dangerous. They are a Liability for women and children. Bring on an alternative Labour Movement someone with some commons sense PLEASE.

Lordfrontpaw · 13/02/2020 18:46

We won’t forget this.

Evenquieterlife33 · 13/02/2020 19:08

From Twitter

When oh when will Labour see?
that I am a Woman,
and only woman is me?
That I was a girl,
a female teen,
These things make a Woman,
Not just a feeling or dream.

Michelleoftheresistance · 13/02/2020 19:10

Trans issues would form part of the teaching on protective characteristics, which comes under "respectful relationships, including friendships" and parents do not have the right to withdraw their child from that.

However if that teaching comes to involve teaching anti-woman activism as 'truth', then I'll withdraw my children and they can take me to court. Bring it on. I'll also be making the biggest media fuss over it that I can possibly manage.

Sanddancer99 · 13/02/2020 19:14

I doubt whether the Labour leadership candidates are happy about the bobby trap that the Labour TRAs have set them; all it has done is shine a light yet again on the toxic culture which exists in LP (in case anyone needs reminding). Contrast their treatment of GC feminists with the anti-semitism that they have allowed to fester.
By signing this declaration they will be implementing an ideology purity test, including compelled speech, denial of facts and science, and forcing people to lie. But it gets worse. They have dishonestly smeared WPUK and LGB Alliance as hate groups, and have cheered and celebrated at their party conference when feminist were threatened and harassed at an entirely law abiding meeting. They plan to remove the existing legal rights of women and girls to safety, privacy and dignity, and have dishonestly framed this as progressive. Members who dissents from any of this will be expelled from the party like a Stalinist purge.
Anyone with a knowledge of recent history will know what dishonest and undemocratic tactics like these could eventually lead to. If they are prepared to behave like this in opposition, heaven knows what they could do if they ever gained power. Thank goodness this won’t happen in the foreseeable future (I’m commenting from the point of view of a life-long labour voter, until the last election).
Fortunately the majority of the general public are not the idiots the LP think they are (did they read the Ashcroft report?). We can see straight through the Labour bullshit and we know that the Emperor has no clothes. This latest woke farce by the LP is a timely reminder to the general public of why they are electable. I hope the LP enjoys its erasure, as a prominent TRA once said to women.

Sorry penultimate sentence should read UNELECTABLE
