Tatchell on OCC JR

Tatchell had a lot to say about the Oxfordshire JR on RT news yesterday and this is the safe schools alliance response to him. He said girls need to get over their embarrassment of their bodies and that big money from anti trans groups was funding the JR.

Yes lordfrontpaw, I agree. My daughter wants to know where her flag and days and special status awards for schools are. She has dyspraxia (she doesn't really want all of that, but she is aware that some groups are way more important than others. And not a day goes by where her dyspraxia is not the cause of some nasty remark or exclusion,

Tatchell can fuck right off with this. Who is letting him go into schools?

RoyalCorgi · 12/02/2020 09:47

"we need to challenge those who feel uncomfortable, to make them feel comfortable in their own bodies, and around the bodies of others, to enable them not to feel embarrassed or threatened or ashamed".

It's as if he thinks girls' embarrassment about their bodies comes from themselves, rather than from having boys grab their breasts, put their hand up their skirts, make lewd comments etc. Not to mention grown men who proposition them in the street. What a vile old creep he is.

OldCrone · 12/02/2020 09:51

And he thinks this is going to be solved by making them undress in front of these boys.

OhHolyJesus · 12/02/2020 09:52

One of the corner stones of Educate and Celebrate is "When you truly love someone age doesn't matter. Whether it's a difference of 2 years or 30 years. Love is Love."

Unsurprising that a paedophile apologist (at best) is the patron, given the above.

Why is no one looking into his computer files?

RoyalCorgi · 12/02/2020 09:55

And he thinks this is going to be solved by making them undress in front of these boys.

What a delight he is. It baffles me that Tatchell's endorsement of paedophilia has been publicly available knowledge for 20 years, and yet he continues to be fawned off by the media and by politicians. What is wrong with these people? His public humiliation can't come fast enough.

Aesopfable · 12/02/2020 09:56

I was a late developer and remember boys jeering about my ‘fried eggs’. Of course, I am sure stripping off in front of them would have completely changed their attitude Hmm

theflushedzebra · 12/02/2020 10:04

I remember yr6 school swimming very well indeed, the boys openly appraising the girls' breast development, without reprimand. Shouting "boobs! she's got real boobs!" at well developed girls. Trying to peer through into the girls changing room to catch a glimpse - any tiny glimpse of the girls changing.

Perhaps all this went above Tatchell's head? (All boys school??) But the answer is not to challenge the "girls' embarrassment over their bodies" - girls and women are entitled to privacy away from the male gaze. All males.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 12/02/2020 10:09

Older male has not the slightest inkling of what teenage girls' lives and experiences are like.

Or, he doesn't care.

Girls (and boys, for that matter) (and women, and men) have autonomy and the right to bodily privacy, a right to dignity. They have the right to their own thoughts, responses and wants.

Is he effectively suggesting we remove the right to privacy altogether?

OldCrone · 12/02/2020 10:13

I am sure stripping off in front of them would have completely changed their attitude

And of course would also have made you more comfortable about your body Hmm

Tatchell must be so invested in his need to remove boundaries from children that he can't see how creepy he looks to everyone who wants to protect those children.

Another reminder that 'progressive' doesn't always mean positive.

GCAcademic · 12/02/2020 10:16

He doesn't care. He falls within a specific category of gay men who despise women and would rather we didn't exist except for those occasional functions like surrogacy when we might be useful to them. It's disgusting to blame girls rather than boys and society for their embarrassment and unease at their developing bodies, and to say that it's girls who should be "challenged" about this. Anyone who had the slightest regard for girls as actual human beings would not even think such a thing.

AbsintheFriends · 12/02/2020 10:16

RoyalCorgi nails it for me.

'Make' girls unashamed of their bodies? Lovely idea. Let's begin by making misogyny a hate crime and heaping all the disapprobation currently reserved for gender critical women onto gropers, catcallers, grabbers and creeps. Police cautions, arrests and court cases all round. Shouting 'you're ugly anyway' out of a van? Minimum seven year sentence.

OldCrone · 12/02/2020 10:18

I think he is. Creepy old pervs should have the right to look at anything or anyone they want to. People who don't like that should just 'get over it'.

Binterested · 12/02/2020 10:18

Remember when Tatchell ran in the safe Labour seat of Bermondsey and lost to new LibDem Simon Hughes. All the Labourites were banging on about how homophobic the people of Bermondsey were for preferring Simon Hughes (who later turned out to be gay himself). Turns out the people of Bermondsey - then a very deprived white working class area - were choosing very wisely.

The elites consistently underestimate the wisdom of people (see also that dreadful Rother Valley candidate).

RuffleCrow · 12/02/2020 10:20

What a disgusting creep. Angry

Languishingfemale · 12/02/2020 10:24

It's quite incredible how, despite all his stated admiration for adults having sex with children, he has absolutely no qualms about pushing his demands that girls (and boys) get naked in front of each other - and presumably all adults.
I think the comparisons to Jimmy Savile's behaviour are spot on. He was also given free access to children in schools (and in hospital etc) with many responsible adults looking on approvingly and those who saw what was happening being too frightened or disempowered to speak up.
Plus ca change.

HorseWithNoLang · 12/02/2020 10:32

Yep. CreepyMcCreepface is what he is.

Datun · 12/02/2020 10:37

Exactly, and this narrative comes out a lot.

That this is all somehow happening to women and girls, but is entirely separate to the actions of men. He is so blinded by whatever drive he has, he not only can't see the situation as it is, he doesn't understand how other people are aghast at his viewpoint.

ArranUpsideDown · 12/02/2020 10:43

He is so blinded by whatever drive he has, he not only can't see the situation as it is, he doesn't understand how other people are aghast at his viewpoint.

Yet how many times does he have to see people being aghast before he thinks, "Is some reflection needed here? In the bowels of Christ, might they have a point and might I be mistaken on this issue?" (To mangle Cromwell.)

theflushedzebra · 12/02/2020 11:02

This is what Peter Tatchell wrote in 1997.

Indistinguishable from what PIE used to say. How he's still got any credibility or a public voice is beyond me.

endofthelinefinally · 12/02/2020 11:08

The only explanation is that he knows something very significant about somebody very important.

Justhadathought · 12/02/2020 11:13

This is what Peter Tatchell wrote in 1997

Reminds me of the testimonies of the boys abused by Michael Jackson - and the total confusion it created in their minds. " Gave them great Joy" - yeh right!

JessicaLangoustine · 12/02/2020 11:19

To the pp who said he has no concept of privacy. He spent the 80s and 90s in an aggressive e campaign of "outing" private individuals. And was lauded for it. This man has no concept of one's sexuality being a private matter, let alone one's body. But who are the people who supported him? They have a lot to answer for.

His opinions on children and sex are straight out of Kinsey. If you can catch Dr Sarah Goode on Kinsey and the other 'doctors" who pushed the sex with children agenda, she is worth listening to.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 12/02/2020 11:30

Yet how many times does he have to see people being aghast before he thinks, "Is some reflection needed here?

I don't think he is listening to anyone else. I think that whatever it is that's driving him is more important.

SauceForTheGander · 12/02/2020 11:46

Why is still given so much air time? He's a massive creep.
