I don't know where the original photoshopping started but a fake picture of her has been circulating showing her wearing odd shoes on the wrong feet when going out to vote, implying she's not fit to take office were Labour to win. Whatever you think of her surely this is really misogynistic, racist, whatever. It's really vile.

Except it was a real story, no Photoshop (the proof of the pudding was the same image on her Instagram) even Snopes admits she did actually do it, seems you don't know what is real and what is fake anymore 😂😂😂

Thelnebriati · 15/12/2019 14:20

Its Photoshopped.

I do think male politicians get stick on their appearance - the inflatable of the orange fat trump baby - that followed him around all over London - look at the Guardians cartoons - Boris as a fat bloated toad swimming in excrement or a variation of it every single day - and on Deadringers mocking Trumps hand and penis size and Boris’s inability to speak - it’s all pretty knock about and tough in politics - The comments in the Guardian about Boris are normally pretty vile - so it does seem to be across the board - and there are loads of photoshopped images of all politicians knocking about - I think Diane Abbot looks pretty smart in the pic by the way -

So many women desperate to malign a black woman that they'll align with right wing media to make their point.

Of course it's photoshopped, her leg is a different colour for a start🙄, & the original image is still online.

Selective feminism based on whether you're the right race and type makes me sick.

I was on this board when all the 'I'm not raaaaaaaacist' s were so gleeful over the nasty caricature of Serena Williams in Australian press. Plenty here were deriding her character using the exact same offensive and misogynistic terms that you throw your arms up about when men direct it at woman. In the face of blatant unfairness in her sport she has the temerity to be angry and upset. Her response wasn't along 'the good little woman' passive acceptable line. So she was vilified.

You underpin the microaggresions that WoC experience and given that the right wing press is fine for you - when it suits - then 'Tory masquerading as woke feminist must be the order of the day.

TRAs & White feminist hypocrisy are 2 sides of the exact same coin rolling around in your echo chambers.

You're both interested and invested in and align with women you think are the' right type of woman' only.

DA is an educated woman. Even if her shoes were on the wrong feet - which they weren't - I'd be thinking she was ill and I'd feel sorry for her, not sink to the low levels of scorn and laughter.

Rubyroost · 15/12/2019 16:15

@Thelnebriati no evidence that it is photoshopped t all, discussed earlier. She clearly isn't going to stay out all day in the same shoes, so someone has either got her shoe for her, or she's nipped home. 🙄

Rubyroost · 15/12/2019 16:18

They're MPs, the worse kind of people and often hypocrites. They get slack because of who they are. Ed balls had the eating bacon sandwich incident, junker also had the incident where he was wearing one brown and one black shoe- they got ridiculed for it. Theres plenty of other incidents and the list goes on. Why all the bollocks about microaggression, racism and feminism. It's not about that and there's no need for it.

DeeCeeCherry · 15/12/2019 19:40

Actually asking this on a Feminist board? 🙄

Almost 50% of race hate mail/messages on Internet are directed towards ONE woman - and that woman is Diane Abbott.

Its likely all because they don't like the colour of her shoes. Or style of her skirt. Or the way she walks 🙄

Rubyroost · 15/12/2019 20:07

Really?
And you have the statistics from where?

MoonlightBonnet · 15/12/2019 21:32

Fucking hell, there’s a lot of people determined to ignore racial bias (their own and other people’s) on this thread. I always find that the people calling Diane Abbott thick are considerably less well qualified and have achieved considerably less than her.

Thinks Diane Abbott isn’t very intelligent or competent yet can’t remember Ed Miliband’s name or spell Juncker. Uh-huh. No racial bias there.

@MoonlightBonnet still no clue why that is evidence of racial bias?!
I'm not an mp in the limelight who could have been about to help run the country, thank god! Nor would I think i was intelligent enough to run the country

andyoldlabour · 15/12/2019 22:14

Boris - Coco the Clown
Corbyn - Wurzel Gummage
Sturgeon - Nicola Krankey
Swinson - Roboloon

FFS our politics is in a hell of a state!

sammybins · 16/12/2019 13:20

apparently it's real. She really did have odd shoes on - she laughed about it herself. The shoes are quite similar, she was rushing to go out the door and simply didn't notice. Nothing racist about it.
