“Folx” Please tell me this is a joke/trolling

Someone on Emily Maitlis’ twitter thread is now talking about “folx” instead of folk as a respectful way to include all identities. Someone please tell me it was originally a typo and this tweeter is taking the piss. Please?????

It's not a typo. It means they are morally better people than you because they put an x on the end.

Well obviously folk isn’t special enough and exclude all sorts of extra special identities like.... like..... hmmm.........

Folk is a collective noun, it’s already plural. It doesn’t need an s, let alone an x.

The thread on her twitter feed regarding the debate on self id is an interesting read, with someone linking (I haven't had time to read it yet) to a study completed in Sweden which is a "long term follow up of transsexual persons undergoing sexual reassignment surgery" which apparently indicates that M-F retain their pre existing offending rate.

NotBad No, I did post in here, not AIBU. It did have a make a poll option when I created the thread and the site was very slow for me last night, so I must have accidentally clicked on the poll option when trying to post.

I stumbled across "xir" recently. All the young people are replacing hard consenants with the letter x. Kids eh?

The "womxn" thing cropped up in my feed this morning, pushed by Alexandra Grant (Keane Reeves' girlfriend) in the Independent. Apparently, she helpfully explains, we have to spell it like that now, to be explicitly inclusive of transwomen and women of colour. I may have given myself an eye-rolling injury!

"Women" is now officially a TERF word!

Folx is the opposite of inclusive, it refers to a subset of people who define themselves by nebulous micro gender identities. When people are talking about folx they don't mean you and me, I guarantee that.
