Looking for kids letter to Santa and found this

I'm not going mad, am I? This isn't ok, is it?

Amidst the list of Santa letter kits on Amazon this appeared. Either I need to give my head a wobble or things are just continuing to get worse for women. The suggested recipient list included wife, girlfriend, sister, aunt, cousin.

Help me make sense of why I feel so angry about this

Oh God that's horrible!

CranberriesChoccy · 23/11/2019 11:56

I've encountered so many people over the years across several forums who think hair in genital area = bad hygiene. Ignorance, social conditioning and exposure to porn is probably at the root. I assume they must also shave their head and eyebrows if hair is inherently dirty.

Hopingtobeamum · 23/11/2019 12:01

😂😂😂 PMSL

LangCleg · 23/11/2019 12:01

JFC.

Hopingtobeamum · 23/11/2019 12:02

But agree it's absolutely the wrong place for this to be appearing. It's funny but no way should kids see this. Absolutely wrong. There's a time and a place and that isn't it

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 23/11/2019 12:04

@Hopingtobeamum do you not think it's a tad misogynistic?

Why would one be on the 'naughty list' for having a hairy fanny?

HorseWithNoFucksToGive · 23/11/2019 12:16

I bet there isn't an equivalent card for men and their pubes where the suggested recipient list included husband, boyfriend, brother, Uncle Tom Cobley and all.

That's how you can be sure it's sexist and that's why OP is right to feel so angry.

ExchangedCat · 23/11/2019 12:18

Thanks all. Yes, I think the combination of misogyny and mad ideas about policing women's body hair, all turning up in the Santa letter section was just my wtf moment for today

ExchangedCat · 23/11/2019 12:20

I'm surprised how angry I feel, actually. Probably because I was sat next to DS (thank goodness he's not reading yet) and felt incensed that at some point whomever created that card thought it'd be ok for him to send it to any of the women in his life

PrettyShiningPeople · 23/11/2019 12:22

I can’t even think who would buy that!

They could have come up with a better illustration at least.

TooLateThePhalarope · 23/11/2019 13:49

It's vile, but why do you need a commercially produced letter to send to Santa?

CupoTeap · 23/11/2019 13:51

🤮😤

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 23/11/2019 13:54

what the fuck?

why would anyone even think that, let alone put it on a fucking christmas card?

It's not funny, it's not edgy, it's just fucking sexist. the picture may as well be of Jim Davidson giving 2 thumbs up

ExchangedCat · 23/11/2019 13:56

@TooLateThePhalarope I don't, I was trying to explain to DS what a letter to Santa was and thought this would be a quick way to show the different types

70s muff is where it's at.

They are out dated and off trend.

Pity the fuckers.

SapphosRock · 23/11/2019 14:23

Oh that is horrible. No it's not okay.

For a man to give this to his partner means he's criticising her under the guise of humour, subtly trying to control her and making her feel like she's done something wrong by being perfectly normal.

CranberriesChoccy · 23/11/2019 15:17

Yes, send one to your sister, aunt, or cousin because you definitely want them to know you were thinking about their genitals. Confused

LadyBrienne · 23/11/2019 15:36

Is it American and there clumsily referring to a hairy butt ? (Fanny in the USA is bottom eg fell on my fanny)

TooLateThePhalarope · 23/11/2019 15:48

The card is made by Yellow Blossom Designs Limited. That card isn't even the worst available on that theme.

TooLateThePhalarope · 23/11/2019 15:51

No. The company's registered office is in Cambridge and the prices are all in £. They have cards on a similar theme but with an offensive word for vulva which would be meaningless in the US.

RJnomore1 · 23/11/2019 16:08

They do have one which says wax your crack it’s xmas...

This is absolutely vile.

I clicked on "contact seller" and told them so......... not sure what sort of response (if any) I'll get!
