What makes a woman a woman?

Please discuss.
What makes a woman a woman?
What makes a man a man?

Is a girl who plays football any less of a girl?
Is a boy who plays princesses any less of a boy?
Is a woman who likes a pint at the pub less of a woman?
Is a man who drinks wine in a bubbly bath less of a man?

Is not the suggestion of feeling like a man/woman/boy/girl horrifically outdated and sexist? I felt like society was moving towards accepting of boys playing with fairies and girls playing with trucks, but now it seems very much against that.

Why is that literal human biology is being challenged and not gender stereotypes?

Am I the only one who finds cis offensive? I'm not a cis woman, I'm a woman. I find the term offensive. Women have been suppressed throughout history and to the present day. Women have worked hard to make woman a strong empowering word. I loved the always throw it like a girl campaign. Although, of course, no longer buy always.

Would love a discussion, my OH refuses to talk about it and all he'll say is their brain waves dont match up to their body Confused

@FierceMamaBear I wonder if it's bought up to add some sort of scientific credibility to the trans ideology

Yes, instantly did this. I guess I was surprised that the training was gonna 'go there' so quickly. This was the point I walked out on. I assume it didn't appear like a particularly helpful or brave thing to do either, I wish I'd had the guts and also some solid data to back up the fact that the DSD community do not wish to be conflated with the transgender movement.

I know its said a lot... But where can I find the credible data for this so I can whip it out when needed, as intersex is so often used in defence of the movement.

LittleWingSoul I don't know about the rest of the UK or elsewhere, but in Scotland there was a review of the Census Amendment bill by the Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Affairs Committee.

www.parliament.scot/parliamentarybusiness/CurrentCommittees/109902.aspx

In February 2019 they published a report.

sp-bpr-en-prod-cdnep.azureedge.net/published/CTEEA/2019/2/7/Stage-1-Report-on-the-Census--Amendment---Scotland--Bill/CTEEAS052019R1.pdf

The Intersex section on pages 28-30 explains the stance of DSD Families with regard to conflating intersex conditions and gender identity. The Cabinet Secretary also apologised for including intersex in the policy memorandum.

DSD Families also provided their own written submission to the committee. This can be read via the link under Annexe B: Written Evidence section. It's 5 pages long.

Their website also clarifies that Intersex and Trans are not the same thing and that lumping it with trans issues could divert crucial funding away from intersex advocacy.

I've tried to find more info about another organisation - Intersex UK, however they don't seem to have a website, only a Facebook page.

Hopefully other posters might have better resources. :)

Woman. Adult female. Born with female reproductive system and hormones although congenital anomalies May mean these aren’t always in good working order.
Trans women. Man who wants to live as their perception of womanhood.
Cis woman. Unnecessary term for woman.

Biology.

@NonnyMouse1337 thank you, will have a good read later. Will do some research on intersex UK too.

TRA ideology takes us right back to the days of Section 28, when it was unacceptable to be openly homosexual.
That's a sobering thought.
