I think the JY situation needs people from trans rights groups speaking up and saying they don't feel JY represents what they are fighting for. In every story I've seen "she" gets called an activist. If the trans community don't counter that, the public will assume support, even if it is silent. And of course a huge part of the problem is the very vocal TRA's throw words like transphobe and t**f around like confetti so how can they denounce JY without losing credibility in their own community?

But they can’t do that because it undoes all of their arguments. If you shout TWAW, you have to accept Yaniv should be treated as one for the purposes of beauty therapy. If you shout TWAW, you have to accept Yaniv has female genitalia. If you shout TWAW and that includes Yaniv, you have to accept that people with predatory behaviour will also shout they are a woman for personal gain. They can’t say “TWAW, except Yaniv obviously” because that undoes the whole thing.

So instead, they say nothing.

Why are they acting so dim?! The old ‘ooh don’t judge all trans people on one perv that would be like judging all women on Myra Hindley, Rose West etc...’ THAT’S NOT THE FUCKING POINT! The point is that the Self-ID law would entitle the type of aforementioned abusive, autogynephillic, perverted creep into women’s spaces. It gives them the right to say ‘i am exactly the same as you’ to a 12 year old girl at a topless swimming party. THAT is the absurdity that Ricky Gervais is flagging up. Not that he thinks all trans women are perverts. Why can’t they see this??!!

And Mimmymum thinks that sitting down and talking about the struggles of a gender dysphoric child will make Ricky Gervais suddenly think ‘oh maybe I shouldn’t bring attention to the huge scandal that JY’s case is flagging up because it’s upsetting to children who are about to embark on their own journey of transition’. I feel sorry for any child with gender dysphoria but that doesn’t stop me from being deeply, deeply worried about the implications of self-ID and the rights of women to have access to female only spaces when they choose. I wish someone could post words to that effect on her Twitter. I don’t do Twitter unfortunately (?)

No you can't. Because women is the word that describes a particular biological sex class (the female ones, the women). And that is precisely why TW are not Women. They are TW which is means men who are presenting themselves as women.

"Woman" is an actual thing that exists, not a nebulous description of anyone with a certain personality and set of interests. "TWAW" is like "boats are cars" - it's not true, both those saying it and those nodding along know it, but for some reason both parties have decided that there is some benefit to pretending that it is.

Unfortunately for them the rest of us still know that boats are not cars no matter how many times they repeat it, or argue that sails are like wheels really and anyway we all exist in a state of both sail and wheel having on a metaphysical level. Many may have played along out of politeness thus far, but the farther into "and therefore the boat has every right to destroy an entire fleet of cars if that's what it takes for the boat to feel valid" territory we get the thinner the public's patience is wearing.

People are tired of being forced to lie.

Yanniv isn't representative of all trans people. Yanniv is representative of all perverts, misogynists, predators and paedophiles, however they identify, who can effortlessly exploit the trans ideology from start to finish.

Which is why everyone tends to say we don't care what you wear or do, as long as you remove the framework which allows any male to access or target women and girls.

Helen's defence is to act outraged that anyone would possibly think their child could be a predator.

Which is why turning this on individuals is a complete waste of time. We don't make laws against rape, for those men who won't rape. We make them for those men who will. Burglary laws aren't for people who don't steal, etc.

Yanniv demonstrates exactly why the ideology is damaging. And Gervais knows it.
