Is anyone else aware that Posie is doing an interview with controversial youtuber, j.f. gariepy? didn't expect to see that...

"She’s made several islamophobic and racist tweets, including saying Islam is a ‘convert or die non peaceful religion’
That we could blame ‘Pakistani Culture’ on a rape."

Maybe if you had lived in a Middle Eastern Muslim country, you might understand what PP was saying. Sajid Javid, who is a Muslim, was slated in the lefty PC press for asking questions about the Pakistani communities and grooming gangs. Sarah Champion, Labour MP for Rotherham was removed from the shadow cabinet by Corbyn and his cronies for speaking out about the grooming gangs.
My wife has the same views as Posie - my wife is a Muslim, maybe she is an Islamophobic Muslim Confused

Earlywalker · 15/10/2019 09:23

You can care about the damage being done to children by trans ideology (I do) without completely disregarding the damage being done elsewhere, and in posies case, contributing to it. By appearing on his YouTube she’s exposed more people to this vile man, she’s probably contributed to his bank balance too. And for what? So more extreme right wingers (who probably don’t like trans people already for bigoted reasons alone) can find out why Posie thinks it’s harmful?

You don’t care about the damage being done to women by people like him, by alt-right types, by racism, by his blatant ‘50’s housewife’ mentality?

This thread is not about the damage being done by trans ideology, I think everyone is in agreement here that it’s damaging so there’s no point deflecting to avoid the discussion at hand.

You can’t claim to care about women and simultaneously agree with Posie having discussions with this man.

But what does it matter aye? He hates women, hates all people of colour but as long as he agrees women don’t have penis’s he’s a great ally?

Carry on.

I don’t recall Posie living in a Middle Eastern country? I have plenty of Middle Eastern friends and family, I agree it has its issues especially towards women but there is a huge difference between addressing these issues and using them as an excuse to make derogatory comments. You say your wife is Muslim and agrees it’s ‘non peaceful, convert or die religion’ do you mind me asking why she is still a Muslim if that is her belief? My Muslim friends will all agree there are many issues within Middle Eastern and some Islamic culture, but none would say it is a non peaceful religion on the whole so I’m very intrigued?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 15/10/2019 09:24

Either he agrees with what PP says, in which case it looks like the GC argument is part of a wider

The underpants gnomes strike again! Jump from A to C completely skipping the middle step of why we/anyone would assume this, hope nobody notices.

LangCleg · 15/10/2019 09:29

So more extreme right wingers (who probably don’t like trans people already for bigoted reasons alone) can find out why Posie thinks it’s harmful?

You just can't help yourself with the QEDs, can you?

Did Posie agree with the man's misogynist (or racist) statements? Answer: no.

Did Posie state a feminist and child protection case that this man's audience may never have engaged with before? Answer: yes.

Do extreme right wingers deserve to hear information that might aid them to protect their children?

And this last is where we differ. I say: yes. You say: no. Because it's more important to you to cast out extreme right wingers than it is to give them information that might help them protect their kids.

And every so-called GC woman who places more importance on criticising Posie than getting the word out is doing the same. You don't like the way she goes about things? Ignore her and go about them in ways you think are better.

LangCleg · 15/10/2019 09:31

You can care about the damage being done to children by trans ideology (I do)

Also: give over. You've spent endless months filibustering thread after thread in an effort to divert attention from queer theory's vile influence in genderism.

Earlywalker · 15/10/2019 09:39

You’re scared of debate lang that’s fine, you don’t want me to bring up points that might be difficult - also fine. You want to preach to the choir and think everyone else should just shut up? Cool. You just want an echo chamber? No discussions of further implications, in fact no discussion at all unless you’re in complete agreement? Cool, but What do you hope to achieve by that exactly?

Posie barely challenged him, she wasn’t there to debate him. She basically agreed she thinks that women should stay home with kids within the first 10 mins.

Everyone is allowed a line, yours is a hell of a lot longer than mine. White supremists definitely go further than mine. I’m allowed to say that, sorry if that upsets you.

Somerville · 15/10/2019 09:57

Aye, that’s right. What I think of when I read the username LangCleg is scared of debate. She’s totally frit about it. Just like she’s a newbie.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 15/10/2019 09:59

It's like some people think we have the collective memory of a fruit fly and no ability to check out their previous posts.

2BthatUnnoticed · 15/10/2019 10:06

You’ve every right to feel as you do, and to unfollow PP on all platforms, Early. No one is remotely upset.

My mum, in fact lots of women, believe that mums should stay home (now PP is criticised just for that?).

I strongly disagree and I work full time. Women are allowed to have different views and even (omg) express them.

andyoldlabour · 15/10/2019 10:07

Yes, my wife is a Muslim, no, she doesn't go to a mosque, she does like bacon, she wears Western clothes, she is intelligent, she has her own opinions. She has witnessed violence first hand, she has lived in a war zone, she has had to treat victims of chemical weapon's attacks.
The majority of Muslims are good people, but there is a large minority who have values which we assumed had been left behind in the Middle Ages.
Even the Koran and other religious teachings say that it is OK for a man to beat his wife, and that Islam is not compatible with democracy. When was the last time you witnessed someone being publicly beheaded or stoned to death in the UK?
Why were the victims of the Pakistani grooming gangs all white girls?
There is widespread Islamic terrorism in Africa and Asia and it has spread to Europe - Al Qaeda, Al Nusra, Daesh, Al Shabab, Boko Haram, Taliban.
There are still a few Islamic countries where you can be executed for apostacy - very "non violent".

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 15/10/2019 10:09

you don’t want me to bring up points that might be difficult

I’d settle for you bringing up any salient points at all

Earlywalker · 15/10/2019 10:22

We worry about trans ideology, yes that could damage all of our children. People like him and his supporters pose a direct threat to POC’s children. Who’s thinking about them while defending discussions with this POS?

I’m done anyway, this place is so depressing.

LangCleg · 15/10/2019 10:24

Here is a Twatter account belonging to an American right winger. He and I have politics that are almost entirely at odds. I think he says a shedload of offensive things. And yet, although I don't have a Twatter account, I occasionally check in to see what he's saying.

Why?

A year or so ago, I observed him in an accidental interaction with a feminist talking about child transition. Not Posie, but can't remember who it was. Anyway. I watched this guy go, in real time, from Hahahaha. This genderism things is great. It's making the left eat itself to Wait, what the fuck? Even the kids of leftists don't deserve this and it's coming for our kids too.

Since then, he's made a point of alerting all his followers on a regular basis. If you don't think that his awakening, from an albeit accidental, original interaction with a feminist was a win, then I really cannot help you.

LangCleg · 15/10/2019 10:27

Just like she’s a newbie.

It's taking a while to lose the training wheels!

LangCleg · 15/10/2019 10:29

I’m done anyway, this place is so depressing.

Why do you do these flounces? We all know you're not done. You never are. See you on the next thread! Cos y'know - genderists are allowed to speak just as much as right wingers are. I know you find this a tricky concept, but that's how it works!

DuMondeB · 15/10/2019 10:31

Newbie Lang is afraid of debate. Unlike old time Lang, who is (presumably) just tired of making the same arguments over and over again (but does so for the benefit of lurkers).

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 15/10/2019 10:35

LangCleg loved an argument, but newbie LongClog runs away the moment a longtime derailer of threads so much as looks at her.

Earlywalker · 15/10/2019 10:37

I haven’t posted on FWR for months lang.
Don’t worry about looking like a newbie yourself though, everyone knows you’re the star of the show Star

LangCleg · 15/10/2019 10:40

Thanks, Early (although I thought you'd flounced already)!

2BthatUnnoticed · 15/10/2019 10:47

I agree the dude is a racist POS - he’s also a misogynist. I disagree that he poses a “direct threat” to my child though. Why do people always say these hyperbolic things!?

Earlywalker · 15/10/2019 10:57

You don’t think people openly discussing how blacks are dumber than whites? How we should have places with no blacks allowed? You don’t think that sort of hate spreads? When it becomes mainstream, when “respected”people are talking to people like that and it all starts becoming more acceptable? You don’t think that affects children of colour?

Hate crimes based on race continues to rise. Perceptions are affected. How do you think these people ‘recruit’?

It’s not dissimilar to how trans ideology affects our children? No, the people fighting for it aren’t necessarily coming up to your son and chopping his bits off but the more idealised and mainstream it becomes and the more it’s seen as a solution to problems people may have, the more likely your kids are to be negatively impacted and affected.

Things ripple.

2BthatUnnoticed · 15/10/2019 11:23

The thing is. I know black people are just as intelligent as whites. My son knows it too. I hadn’t heard of this asshole before today and he seems to be a nobody. So I’m not bothered tbh.

2BthatUnnoticed · 15/10/2019 11:24

(But if you are, I respect that, of course. We’re all different.)

DuMondeB · 15/10/2019 11:25

Racists recruit because a small number of crazy loud mouth lefties are going round decrying people for ‘whiteness’ and it’s causing massive polarisation.
Judging people by the colour of their skin is the complete opposite of what Dr Martin Luther King called for, yet it’s still happening, only now it’s the other way around.
Asian kids are (lawfully!) being kept out of Harvard in the name of greater diversity, how is that not racist?

www.nytimes.com/2019/10/01/us/harvard-admissions-lawsuit.html

If you tell people that they are shit because they are white (or in current parlance not ‘black and brown’) then they are going to look for stuff to make them feel better/less shit - hence the resurgence in interest of stuff like IQ testing statistics).
Douglas Murray talks about it loads at the moment (although you probably won’t want to listen to him because he’s a Tory, although perhaps being a gay Tory makes him more palatable?)

www.joe.co.uk/news/douglas-murray-on-identity-politics-in-2019-240267

The same is happening with sex discrimination - Gillette lost masses of customers because they told their (mostly male) customers that men were shit, trying to cash in on the Me Too stuff.
This is at odds with lived reality because the percentage of men that are actually shit is actually quite small (although that small percentage causes enough crime/trauma to justify sex segregation in limited circumstances).

Douglas Murray describes the progress towards equality as being like a train pulling slowly into a station, then suddenly speeding up and smashing into people, maiming everyone nearby.

We weren’t actually into the station, inequality still exists, of course it does, but it turns out that berating everyone doesn’t convert them to your cause. I hope to fuck we can get back to where we are pulling into the equality station, but you can’t combat racism without considering how racists are made and why some people are walking backwards on progress.

DuMondeB · 15/10/2019 11:35

PS - as anyone who lives in a U.K. grammar school area knows, the biggest indicator of achievement on non verbal testing scores is family income.

So until America’s race wealth gap is resolved (which will require education equality) American IQ tests tell us absolutely fuck all anyway.
