Talking to someone who thinks they have an opinion on a video they haven't even watched, and so doesn't know what was said, is pretty futile.

Find a way to link to it that doesn't directly give benefit to him and I will.

No. Find a way yourself.

(I ain't your secretary Grin )

DuMondeB · 17/10/2019 20:56

Can you imagine how big a bio box would have to be to fit in every single feminist topic?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/10/2019 20:58

Talking to someone who thinks they have an opinion on a video they haven't even watched, and so doesn't know what was said, is pretty futile.

Does that just go for me and the other ones with my opinion then?
What about the one upthread that said (and I paraphrase but pretty much word for word)
That funny one that went "I ain't giving his shitty channel fucking clicks" but had been expressing their view too, is that OK then, as they agree with you, as didn't see them getting pulled up for not watching it?

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 20:59

I definitely agree that we should stop talking to the filibusters, not that that's a hint or anything.

How can you accuse people of filibustering when they are talking about their opinion of pp and this youtuber on a thread about pp and this youtuber?

Surely the filibusters are those discussing her hairstyle etc?

Why don't you watch the bloody video if you're going to discuss it?

Because we don't want to give him the hits, revenue, whatever. Don't you see? Thus is the point we are making.

Even if it's people who are entirely against his view of the world but are interested in what pp had to say, the only way to do it is by increasing the hits to this man's channel.

Are we meant to believe that there was literally no other half way decent human being with a YouTube channel that she could have joined together with to make this?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/10/2019 21:00

(I ain't your secretary

Grin Fair enough lol, but as a non tech person I wouldn't have a clue how to do so was hoping someone else would, worth a try so I could watch Grin
SimplyTheWorst · 17/10/2019 21:02

And Wotcha if you subscribe to the agenda about "Diversity and Inclusivity" for all that agenda includes women.

"Acceptance without Exception" if you recall.

Or do you subscribe to the patriarchism that means that women's voices as the female sex and the female sexuality that is lesbian [female homosexuality] and heterosexuality should be excluded from all public debate?

So "Acceptance without Exception" for all males, however they choose to present themselves, but never for females under any circumstances. Is this to what you subscribe?

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 21:02

Well Wotcha - if that poster had accused ME of bringing anti-semitism into it, when it was on the actual video that we're discussing - then yes, I would have pulled her up on it.

But she didn't, you did.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/10/2019 21:03

This!
We're talking about the thread subject, and our pinions on it, I mean ffs lol
Don't question! Otherwise we're going to try and discredit you, plant doubt, and go back to talking about how we luffs her and she has nice hair Confused Hmm
It's batshit lol

Earlywalker · 17/10/2019 21:05

this particular activist for children and for lesbians whose voices are distinctly the most minority voices in this current political climate?

I feel like this is a deliberate attempt to say ‘shut up moaning about black people, lesbians and kids are the real ones that need help and she’s doing it’

Is that what you mean?

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 21:06

So, the only way that we can discuss what's on this video is to watch the video even though many of us do not want to support a misogynistic racist channel?

So, the viewing of the video is restricted to people comfortable with supporting misogynistic racists then? Guess that answers my questions.

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 21:08

I feel like this is a deliberate attempt to say ‘shut up moaning about black people, lesbians and kids are the real ones that need help and she’s doing it’

Is that what you mean?

Sadly, I think that's exactly what they mean.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/10/2019 21:08

I feel like this is a deliberate attempt to say ‘shut up moaning about black people, lesbians and kids are the real ones that need help and she’s doing it

That and women, that's how it came across to me
She's primarily looking out for kids and lesbians - OK, good, but if women are not her priority (which is how your post came across) why is she so revered on here?
It's more and more feeling like a silencing of women on here.
You can speak as a woman, but only if you agree.
If not, pipe down and sit down, filibusterer, derailer, don't you have anything better to do..... etc etc

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/10/2019 21:11

Exactly - even though people who agree with her being there have said "aint giving shitty channel clicks" - they're allowed an opinion and don't get pulled up on it even though they haven't watched it as they agree.

SimplyTheWorst · 17/10/2019 21:11

Earlywalker: Is that what you mean?

Ha ha! Failed derail, yet again!

Children have all shades of skin pigment depending on the degree of melamine their DNA determines. That does not detract from the fact that they are all children.

Sexuality relates to the sex of all humans, females or males, regardless if melamine pigmentation or age.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 17/10/2019 21:12

I feel like this is a deliberate attempt to say ‘shut up moaning about black people, lesbians and kids are the real ones that need help and she’s doing it’

Lesbians and kids can be black people.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/10/2019 21:14

Ha ha! Failed derail, yet again!

She asked you a fair question - if that's not what you meant, why not just answer instead of "wah, derail!" yet again?
Since when is asking a question a derail?
If that's what amounts to derailing there's no wonder the word gets flung about so much if it's a derail to even question anything Hmm

Earlywalker · 17/10/2019 21:15

I just felt the ‘minority’ comment was a dig at the discussion in hand.

If that’s not what you meant, what thought do you think was given to children and lesbians who are ethnic minorities?

SimplyTheWorst · 17/10/2019 21:19

Dear *Wotcha: "If that's what amounts to derailing there's no wonder the word gets flung about so much if it's a derail to even question anything"

A derail is a post that is disingenous or obfuscating or a deliberate attempt to divert a thread from its original topic in a manner that intends to taint that topic.

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 21:24

Wotcha was on the Flora thread - agreeing with Flora - so I think it's safe to say that the only thing Wotcha would approve Posie doing is shutting up. But Posie won't do that - and there's nothing any Mumsnetter can do about that. Even if we wanted to.

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 21:26

Lesbians and kids can be black people.

So, the only black people we can care about are children and/or lesbians? Is that what you're saying?

And obviously not heterosexual or bisexual women of any colour?

SimplyTheWorst · 17/10/2019 21:26

If that’s not what you meant, what thought do you think was given to children and lesbians who are ethnic minorities?

I refer you to my earlier post above:\

"Children have all shades of skin pigment depending on the degree of melamine their DNA determines. That does not detract from the fact that they are all children.

Sexuality relates to the sex of all humans, females or males, regardless if melamine pigmentation or age."

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/10/2019 21:28

Wotcha was on the Flora thread - agreeing with Flora - so I think it's safe to say that the only thing Wotcha would approve Posie doing is shutting up.

So what if I was on the Flora thread?
I've never said I would approve of Posie shutting up at all. She's entitled to her views.
Just going to a far right against women channel to get views across to further his audience (and preach to them who from being subscribers in the first place) will already agree.
Then everyone here, on a feminism forum, presumably caring for women, being fine with that because you agree with him and his viewers on trans issues.
