@Yeahnayeah

Are you saying that trans people are more of a threat than white supremacists? Because this is all abit new to me and i'm confused.

BeyondAvoidant · 16/10/2019 15:03

It's purity politics. I have no time for it. You all do you. Go well.

That.

Incidentally - and I have asked before too - I notice a weird trend for all denouncing PP to refer to "WOC". Isn't that generally an American phrase?

PumpkinSpiceWoman · 16/10/2019 15:27

@BeyondAvoidant
sorry, I'm maybe a bit confused ty all the threads, but are you saying that avoidign whites supremacists is "purity politics"? Because i think most people want to avoid whites supermacists?

BeyondAvoidant · 16/10/2019 15:44

Yes. No mealy mouth crap from me, is that what you were expecting with your rather disingenuous looking question?
Avoiding conversing with anyone is purity politics.

White supremacist women are still women. Their children are still children.

BeyondAvoidant · 16/10/2019 15:45

Are you American btw? I've not heard of pumpkin spice being that popular here in the UK, and then noticed your name given my comment on "WOC" phrasing.

TequilaPilates · 16/10/2019 15:55

I've not heard of pumpkin spice being that popular here in the UK
Completely by the by but Starbucks sell.pumpkin spiced lattes every autumn (here in the UK)

BeyondAvoidant · 16/10/2019 15:58

Ah I see. Are they nice? Grin

Earlywalker · 16/10/2019 16:01

I was just thinking that! Pumpkin spice is on costas menu too and have you been in a B&M/home sense/home bargains recently? Every other candle is pumpkin spice.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 16/10/2019 16:01

Synthetic tasting goop in my experience

TequilaPilates · 16/10/2019 16:03

White supremacist women are still women.

Who preach hatred. Like the people,including women and children from Westborogh Church (?spelling).

Don't pretend that people are doing some sort of community service by appearing alongside these people.

I'm sure if you dug deep enough we could all find some point that we agreed with the Nazis about, I am sure you wouldn't find many people who thought it would be a good thing to join forces with them though even of just to fight for the one thing that we agreed on.

Lay down with dogs and get fleas is appropriate to this scenario.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 16/10/2019 16:07

Pumpkin spice is nasty chemical tasting oddness imo, and goes particularly poorly with coffee.

PumpkinSpiceWoman · 16/10/2019 16:09

@BeyondAvoidant
mealy mouthed? it was an honest question, bc I think she was giving him legitmacy by appearing on his show. Not like she was just talking behind the scenes.
No, the username has pumpkin spice in it because they sell pumpkin spice lattes in Starbucks and my friend and I were all, let's try them, they probably taste vile but we will be able tos ay we tried a trend. And we did and we love them. And so I am a bit obssessed with pumpkin spice at the mo and I wanted Pumpkin Spice Girl but i am too old to be a "girl" .

But I don't get how Posie didn't realise he was a racist.

BeyondAvoidant · 16/10/2019 16:14

I don't tend to frequent Starbucks, not a fan of tax avoidance with my coffee. Some may call that purity politics, but hey ho.

Nor do I buy scented candles. Clearly I'm missing out if it's that popular though! Grin

Earlywalker · 16/10/2019 16:16

I don’t get how Posie didn’t realise he was a racist

Of course she realised, she just didn’t care. Like many here.

TequilaPilates · 16/10/2019 16:22

Of course she realised, she just didn’t care. Like many here.
I think this just about sums it up and certainly confirms something that I've thought for a long time - that for.many posters on this board nothing else matters apart from the trans issue. Posters argue that it's all about women's rights yet it seems that they will happily join with misogynists and racists so long as they are anti trans. How exactly is that about the rights of women then?

Datun · 16/10/2019 16:23

Of course she realised, she just didn’t care.

So now she's a liar too? There really is no end to some people's desperation to stop others supporting Posie Parker.

“Gariépy's assistant approached me to go on his show, I gave a cursory glance at some of his video titles, like "hypermodernity" and "the physics of biology", and saw he was someone that discussed politics such as leaving the left.. Nothing at the time stood out as anything unusual or problematic. Then once I'd seen that Lindsay Shephard, someone I admire, had been a guest I decided to accept. I make it my business to avoid researching or policing the entire spectrum of someone's views, I think the mutilation of healthy children's bodies is too important, and so it's not usual for me to do an FBI style background check. I am, of course, concerned at the accusations I have heard since recording the show. The misogyny was not something that surprised me, it is very much at home in both the left and the right of politics, whether it be the enforcement of traditional roles through to pretending we don't know what a woman is. White supremacy and the racism that fuels it has no place in a civilised society, I abhor those views and the people that hold them. As a free speech advocate I think dialogue, even with those with the most odious prejudices, is essential. How are we ever to change or challenge them if we don't engage? These days so many people are called Nazis and far right that the prophetic warning that we will no longer recognise the real ones is beginning to come true. I am currently in a fight to stop the erasure of women and the abuse of children, this is paramount to me. Canada wilfully puts children on permanently damaging puberty blockers and amputates the breasts of sixteen year old girls that think they're boys, this is something we should be talking about whenever we can, until it stops”

BeyondAvoidant · 16/10/2019 16:26

To be fair datun, if you're going to call someone racist, everything-phobic (is there a phobia that PP hasn't been accused of?) and accuse them of aligning with the right, calling them a liar is nothing really

TequilaPilates · 16/10/2019 16:27

Datun - she should have been more diligent about who she was agreeing to appear alongside. She can't hide behind some "assistant" like many.politicians do when they are called out on similar situations. She cannot be surprised that, having appeared on this man's channel without opposing his views, people question whether she supports his views, can she?

BeyondAvoidant · 16/10/2019 16:28

without opposing his views

Did we watch the same video? Confused

Earlywalker · 16/10/2019 16:29

Even she can’t decide what she’s saying in that statement, first it’s ‘I didn’t know’ then it’s ‘I think dialogue, even with those with the most odious prejudices, is essential’

So which is it? It’s essential to talk to white supremists or she wouldn’t have if she knew?

Anyone who Google’s the guys name can see who he is in about 30 seconds.

Datun · 16/10/2019 16:29

She cannot be surprised that, having appeared on this man's channel without opposing his views, people question whether she supports his views, can she?

She doesn't appear in the slightest bit surprised. Hence her statement.

Datun · 16/10/2019 16:31

So which is it? It’s essential to talk to white supremists or she wouldn’t have if she knew?

Good Lord. Who knows??

Seriously, she's got a completely public Facebook page. Go and ask her!

PumpkinSpiceWoman · 16/10/2019 16:32

@BeyondAvoidant
so now you're saying that my having coffee at Starbuck's because the only indpendent coffee shop that's within easy walking distance of both of us has seriously gloomy decor that brings us down) is sort of equivalent to being awhite supremacist?? I don't think so.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 16/10/2019 16:33

And I think the entire goal of participation on this board for some people is to sow discord and dissent in order to undermine women's ability to organize against TRA overreach and there is absolutely nothing they will not say or do in service of that goal.

BeyondAvoidant · 16/10/2019 16:33

"i didnt know" but maintain that "dialogue with everyone is important"
makes sense to me?
