Please can Harry be dropped from the Fair Cop campaign. Having an overt racist involved will just damage it. Thank you

This is a personal attack against a member of Mumsnet.

It's also libellous.
Reported.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/05/2019 16:42

New poster 🤔

slycooperatemysocks · 15/05/2019 16:46

The sad thing is that if i had posted here under my real name you would listen to me. Some of you know me well. Please search Facebook and Twitter before you chuck what I have posted in the bin. I guess that I should not be surprised at the reactions here, UK feminism does have huge issues around Xenophobia, Lesbophobia and race.

Libellous lol. All easy to find.

This board is evidently considered to be massively important in terms of influence given the number of people who monitor it and regularly pop up to chide us for not doing womanning or feminism or political activism well enough.
How on earth we women manage our lives and politics without their chivvying and criticism and tone deaf guidance I cannot imagine Confused

teawamutu · 15/05/2019 16:48

Harry had answered questions about various rather old tweets. He was pretty clear that his views have changed.

Shame you missed those, OP but do go ahead and ask him if you're still concerned.

thatdamnwoman · 15/05/2019 16:48

I just googled Harry Miller Muslims and Harry Miller Tommy Robinson and nothing came up. So now what, OP?

slycooperatemysocks · 15/05/2019 16:49

So you are admitting that they happened then tea? Thank you. This board IS influencial yes which is why I posted. This is info that should be known.

OP posts:
teawamutu · 15/05/2019 16:50

And the Tommy Robinson tweets were sent during the sadly brief period when he'd renounced extremism and was working with Quilliam, as I understand it. But I'm sure context isn't relevant.

slycooperatemysocks · 15/05/2019 16:50

So he no longer "hates muslims" or admires TR tea? I hope so...

OP posts:
popehilarious · 15/05/2019 16:50

Post the link then! Jeez.

slycooperatemysocks · 15/05/2019 16:50

Context IS relevant. It is refreshing compared to the blinkered denials going on here.

OP posts:
popehilarious · 15/05/2019 16:51

Cross posted there. Why not link to the tweets you find problematic?

Barracker · 15/05/2019 16:51

I listen to most people, until they prove themselves unwilling to listen to others in turn, or seem determined to avoid introspection as to whether they may have misinterpreted someone else's words.

No idea who you are, OP. But I have as little tolerance for people who deliberately misinterpret the intentions of others from the GC side as I do the TRA side.

RedDogsBeg · 15/05/2019 16:52

I'm not frothing and he's not my hero. You say you've contacted those whom are in control of the Fair Cop campaign, fine, still doesn't explain why you expect MN FWR to 'drop' someone from a campaign they have no control over.

slycooperatemysocks · 15/05/2019 16:52

I am not GC. I am RF.

OP posts:
MockerstheFeManist · 15/05/2019 16:53

Please drop W Shakespeare from the school curriculum. He advocates teenage sex and regicde.

MyAuntyBadger · 15/05/2019 16:54

He's fighting for free speech op, all of it, not just the stuff you agree with. That's the point. And many feminists don't like the burka/niqab and see it as oppressive and unpleasant (and much of Islam is hardly good for women) so why did you do the '#white feminism' thing? White feminism would be to accept it without comment as something that happens to others, so none of white women's business.

SlipperyLizard · 15/05/2019 16:55

The Burka tweet (second link) is apparently dated 2015 but has Harry’s current “Limerick criminal” handle (or whatever you call it). Blatantly photoshopped, as Harry wasn’t a limerick criminal in 2015.

Oh, and what everyone else said - FWR has no influence on Harry’s campaign.

RedDogsBeg · 15/05/2019 16:55

I guess that I should not be surprised at the reactions here, UK feminism does have huge issues around Xenophobia, Lesbophobia and race.

How so? Care to explain?

slycooperatemysocks · 15/05/2019 16:57

I have not photoshopped these images. He has admitted some of them if you bother to look.

TRAs have obviously been very very busy ploughing through Harry's social media. They've had to go back years to find a few isolated tweets, which have been reproduced without context.

They must be very worried to do that.

slycooperatemysocks · 15/05/2019 17:00

I am not a TRA.

OP posts:
Floisme · 15/05/2019 17:02

I still don’t understand why you are asking FWR to take action on behalf of Fair Cop, especially when you are, as you say, a regular poster.

Is there anything that isn’t the responsibility of women?
Anything at all?
