As far as Twitter is concerned, it's a numbers game.
The greater the number of reports, the more likely you are to be banned.
Whether these reports come from genuine accounts, spammers or some sort of mobbing 'event', it doesn't matter.
The troubling thing is, politicians are paying more and more attention to what's 'said' on Twitter.
Real life is becoming sidelined, as petitions, calls for speakers, polls and direct access to influencers and policy makers goes on in the increasingly scary Twitterverse.
Paedophilia is a 'kink', women agree with gender neutral toilets, the cotton ceiling is something 'right minded' people need not concern themselves with and lesbians have no problem with trans partners.
Social media is being influenced by people with truly horrific views and it's frightening how politicians, influencers and policy makers are paying attention to these abhorrent voices.
