There is so much evidence about the cotton ceiling. The comments about it being bots posting about it not actual trans people when the cheating cyclist has even posted about the need for lesbians to "cope".

I'm reliably informed (had to attend a transgender workshop in order to 'educate' me, for my work) that being trans has nothing to do with one's sexual orientation but is all about one's internal "gender identity". So if you're het prior to transition you remain het and if you're homo you remain homo. I was told this by a male person who wanted to present as female. When I asked them why the T had been added to the LGB if the LGB was all about marginalised sexuality rather than "identity" I didn't get a satisfactory explanation and the male person didn't come back after the break for coffee

The fallacy seems to be rooted in thinking that het and homo either refer primarily to the sex of the person you fancy, which is the basis of all those obnoxious but prescient jokes about male lesbians, or that het or homo are divorced entirely from sex and actually your gender identity is mystically attracted to someone else's gender identity.
