Apparently a woman spent 8 hours in a cell/being interviewed by the police for a "transphobic" Tweet along the lines of TWAW. Can't bring myself to buy the Mail tomorrow to check the details, but it may be taken up by other papers.

Thank you Rocky.

RockyFlintstone · 10/02/2019 18:34

It has a blue 'breaking news' picture, not the picture from the article.

Unfortunately this story is attracting all the 'oh its like when youre not allowed to call a blackboard a blackboard because its racist, PC gorn mad' types as well.

Datun · 10/02/2019 18:34

No. I'm just getting people who are sharing the original online article. I'm trying to find the Mail on Sunday Facebook page. With that article on it.

ToeToToe · 10/02/2019 18:38

I could only find it by scrolling down for ages - it was posted 15hrs ago.

I'll be honest, it's really not worth it. Most of the comments are puerile one-liners about "world gone mad".

sackrifice · 10/02/2019 18:40

You have to scroll down to what was posted 15 hours ago. I just did it. It takes ages.

Weird cross post there...

RockyFlintstone · 10/02/2019 18:48

Oh, I am getting it by typing it in my main FB search - just have to scroll down past the people sharing it and a couple of other things and it's there?

Am paranoid screenshotting my FB but I don't think there is anything identifying there!

I am afraid the public don’t care.

PierreBezukov · 10/02/2019 18:54

Police held a breastfeeding mother in the cells because of something she wrote on Twitter.

This is what's terrifying. And this is what people will take away from this.

Datun · 10/02/2019 18:55

Ah ok. So probably not worth it.

goldengummybear · 10/02/2019 18:59

I would love it if normal trans people sued the activists. There are thousands of trans people who just want to live ordinary, peaceful lives without conflict. Many of these activists aren't even trans but are creating bad feeling against all trans people with this kind of behaviour.

ToeToToe · 10/02/2019 19:05

There are many transwomen who do not push the TWAW mantra as well.

The transwoman whose neo-vulva was photographed among "the 100 women" in the Guardian yesterday openly said "I am not a woman, I am a man who has had cosmetic surgery".

Extreme TRAs - like Hayden - are all about dominance and women acquiescing to them.

Daily mail 90k shares so far

Bloody hell.

And I'm guessing that most people are sharing this to their Facebook?

So this is reaching hundreds or even possibly thousands times that number?

Sunlight.

HesterSue · 10/02/2019 19:19

Can you imagine what would happen if they opened the comments section !

HesterSue · 10/02/2019 19:23

94k and counting

They are direct shares from the DM site. Many will copy the URL then post or screenshot and share. This has gone viral internationally. It's been discussed by YouTubers and is on Tumbler.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 10/02/2019 19:45

At some point our government may worry about how this looks to those out side the UK......

sackrifice · 10/02/2019 19:50

4.2 k shares on facebook. So presumably the other 90k shares are mainly twitter.

Well it is a bit embarrassing. Our policing is a laughing stock - and not for the first time this week.

I feel a bit sorry for us too....

Can Sandy Draws cheer us up?

ToeToToe · 10/02/2019 20:09

I watched that YT video earlier today - and I must say it makes me want to have a Constitution/ Bill of Rights protecting our freedom of speech for the UK.

This sort of thing really hammers it home how important freedom of speech is. And freedom of the press, come to that.

I don't want to live in a place where the police can arrest me for something I've said on twitter. With reasonable "incitement to violence" exceptions of course.

WhatHaveYou · 10/02/2019 20:14

Blair wasn't keen encouraging on a critical thinking student, I doubt his new political party will be keen on free speech either, I would also guess the new party will be TWAW too.
