Wow. What a week for the so-called "gender critical" movement!

OP posts:
woollysocksforwinter · 31/01/2019 10:02

This, again, seriously?

Different GC feminists have different ways of doing things.

Posie Parker is being very effective in getting the message out to a wider audience.

What are you doing, exactly?

GCSocScientist · 31/01/2019 10:04

Some women are politically right leaning, get over it. We value all women, and support their rights to political agency.

Barracker · 31/01/2019 10:09

"teaming up"

Is that how we should describe TRAs regarding your support of Ian Huntley and Karen White?

Rich and poor, Christian and atheist, left and right know that the sky is blue, the grass is green, and sex is immutable.

And if my house was on fire I'd accept a bucket of water from anyone of any political belief to help me put it out, thank them, then return to opposing them politically exactly as before.

Grow up.

ErrolTheDragon · 31/01/2019 10:10

Different GC feminists have different ways of doing things.

Yes, and grassroots GC women in the U.K. have had a good week eg.

AngryAttackKittens · 31/01/2019 10:10

Groundhog Week for TRAs again, so, just like every other week.

tirisfalpumpkin · 31/01/2019 10:13

What’s the role of the harassed TW? Is she an elected official?

I watched the live video, and while Posie was forthright as usual, they completely ignored her and carried on working on a laptop. There was no threat or aggression, just some uncomfortable questions at the back of someone’s head.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 31/01/2019 10:42

Is having right wing views illegal for women now? Confused

Hoppinggreen · 31/01/2019 10:48

I wasn’t aware it was compulsory to be Left wing if you were a feminist.
I will un burn my bra and subjugate my will to that of men immediately.

LangCleg · 31/01/2019 10:49

Is Vanilla suggesting that right wing women aren't women? LOL.

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 31/01/2019 10:50

Oh I hadn't seen this thread. But on the other one I said:

"The main problem is that stunts like the one yesterday are going to be used to invalidate all GC arguments. It's much easier to provoke an emotional response in people (nasty bully targeting someone at work) than engage in rational discussion."

And that's exactly what we have here.

Except many people from the 'movement' are more than happy to say they disagree with Posie and how she goes about things.

Juells · 31/01/2019 10:51

MsVanillaRoseAuntof7

Genuine question - why do so many transwomen use the word Aunt in their posting name? What's that about?

Carowiththegoodhair · 31/01/2019 10:51

Posie is getting people talking.

2 women of petite build asking tricky questions of a person born into a male body. How very terrifying.

terryleather · 31/01/2019 10:54

For some reason this reminds me of the pig baby poem in ^Alice In Wonderland

"He only does it to annoy because he knows it teases.^
^Wahhhhhhh Wahhhhhh Wahhhhhhh!"
^

kesstrel · 31/01/2019 10:54

Also convenient how, for many on the left, so-called "teaming up with the religious right" (I'm an atheist by the way; just pointing out the hypocrisy) is only bad when it's the Christian religious right.

Stop the War's "teaming up with" the Islamic religious right got a free pass with the woke, despite similar homophobia and often far worse anti-women attitudes and practices.

frazzled1 · 31/01/2019 10:58

I watched the video. Forthright, yes. But no masked faces, no dogs, no baseball bats - unlike the TRAs.

It made me think about healthy teens as young as 13 having mastectomies. Lesbian and gay young people put on puberty blockers instead of being accepted and celebrated as they are. That's what shocks me.

userschmoozer · 31/01/2019 11:01

Is having right wing views illegal for women now?

No of course not, or Blaire White would not have any kind of public platform.

andyoldlabour · 31/01/2019 11:07

Well, you learn something new each day. It appears that all of us GC people are fascists and when they who must not be named argue with us, they have to explain things as if they were talking to a "flat earther".
That is rather ironic Grin

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 31/01/2019 11:09

Explanations would be most welcome

We never seem to get any though

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 31/01/2019 11:24

Is it a movement?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 31/01/2019 11:30

Can an individual be a movement?

CosmicCanary · 31/01/2019 11:31

Could you explain this statement a bit more please OP the so-called "gender critical" movement!

ReflectentMonatomism · 31/01/2019 11:35

Stop the War's "teaming up with" the Islamic religious right got a free pass with the woke,

weeklyworker.co.uk/worker/602/gay-rights-shibboleth/

OldCrone · 31/01/2019 11:41

What's your point, OP? Do you think religious right wing women aren't women?

littlbrowndog · 31/01/2019 11:43

Aw fuck does this mean I have to vote green

FloralBunting · 31/01/2019 11:46

I think it's instructive, dear lurkers, to notice the faux superior moral tone of disapproval on the 'right way' for women to conduct themselves from people who are invested in removing rights and protections from women and girls.

You can come to your own conclusions, I'm sure.
