Someone who was filmed trying to stop the “we need to talk” session now thinks they were wrong for attempting to shut down debate and realises that they were intimidating women

Oh yeah, I'm sure I was a smug little shit in all kinds of ways at 20, and I'm also sure that I was having a lot more fun than this Bets person is. Balaclavas and threatening people, though? No, because that's not fun, not unless you're a very specific and usually male sort of person.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 27/11/2018 16:18

I’m sure most of us were awful gits - but my mum would have murdered any of us is we donned a balaclava and threatened anyone.

My sister even got told off for beating up a boy in the year above her at school for picking on her (when his mum dragged him to our front door for an apology and was confronted by my sister - half his size with glasses - ‘what??? Her?????’).

GeneralBallAche · 27/11/2018 18:24

i was a bit of a vegan warrior, but I would never have shouted abuse or been threatening to a middle-aged woman. Just not in me.

I'd have probably caught her and given a lecture and a leaflet. Which is fair enough if any of this lot want to do that.

Caught her?
How? Giant mousetrap with a sticker in as bait?

theOtherPamAyres · 27/11/2018 20:55

Let's put this into context:

Demonstrators and protesters usually target powerful interests and their agents - the police, security staff, the military, significant buildings, government, businesses, retailers etc.

TRAs targeted women going to listen to speakers at a meeting.

The women had no power, no influence, and their individual views and motivations were unknown to the TRAs. In the early stages of the resistance movement, women had no powerful voices to lend weight to their concerns about self i/d. They were the few.

Today, the landscape is very different. WPUK is an award-wining, respected and authoritative organisation. The TRAs are exposed for public consumption, in all their ugliness. They are the few. The powerful voices that once backed them, have gone quiet and melted away.

Is it any wonder that a reverse ferret seems a good idea, now?

RepealTheGRA · 28/11/2018 13:27

Did he just refer to us as ‘non-trans women’? He can get to fuck. Misogynistic, MRA, WANKER.

StarsAndWater · 28/11/2018 13:30

God, is Tatchell still banging on? He's like an exercise in mansplaining.

R0wantrees · 28/11/2018 13:31

Did he just refer to us as ‘non-trans women’?

Repeal O yes!

Many women (adult human females) are pointing out to Mr Tatchell that it is not for him to re-label half the population especially the half which is the sex group he does not belong to.

littlbrowndog · 28/11/2018 13:36

He’s a non trans man

R0wantrees · 28/11/2018 13:40

or a non trans woman man?

Melamin · 28/11/2018 13:41

Actually. He is a non transwoman and a non transman Confused

R0wantrees · 28/11/2018 13:43

& a non woman?

R0wantrees · 28/11/2018 13:44

O I didn't mean to leave a gap, doesn't it make more sense to say,
Peter Tatchell is a non-transwoman man?

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 28/11/2018 13:44

I think we can shorten it further

He is just non

R0wantrees · 28/11/2018 13:46

He is just non

with a fondness for non sequiturs?

Floisme · 28/11/2018 13:55

Esther is now on Terfblocker apparently.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 28/11/2018 14:01

Thats bad isnt it flo?

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 28/11/2018 14:01

r0wan

Yep Grin

Manderleyagain · 28/11/2018 14:11

Esther is surprised but no one else is.

It's a shame if terfblocker means other similar people (ie have been involved in trans rights activism but beginning to think it might not be the way forward) don't see the conversations she's having. That is the intention I suppose.

Bubonicpanic · 28/11/2018 14:28

Wow did anyone read this further down that Tatchell thread?

[twitter.com/jennyrossity/status/1067461985216942082

Giving sex offenders anti androgens which results in them growing breasts.

GIDs written evidence to parliament saying they can’t cope with the sheer amount of referrals from prison:

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 28/11/2018 14:28

Does anyone know how many people now on Terfblocker?
