Just seen this posted on FB. Good, I’m glad they’re getting a roasting.

Will post below as can’t do clicky links.

Yes, Vicky.

Oh lols. Ladies musics. That means you a woman

Hahaha

VisitorsEntrance · 06/11/2018 22:11

He said there were three situations where it would be acceptable to arrest someone for what they were saying, but I can’t remember what they were as I was driving and shouting at him.
The link is here. It must have been about 30 to 45 minutes in. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000113f

Ruth Hunt is a political animal. There's no money in LGB so she's focused on the T because that gets her a seat at the table.

Is there no point at which the trustees of Stonewall will challenge what Ruth Hunt is doing to the legacy of Stonewall?

From halo organisation to a source of contempt for those who founded and funded it in record time.

VovoBickie · 06/11/2018 23:25

Wow they are getting smashed

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 07/11/2018 06:00

Wow they are getting smashed

They deserve it.

KatVonGulag · 07/11/2018 06:58

I didn't watch any of the shows that joss likes. I didn't listen to any of the music joss likes.
I'm guessing this makes me male. Weird how that works.

As for Stonewall. I've been thinking a lot about the "transing " of historical lesbians. I find it outrageous, utterly self serving. And totally disregards historical context.

I've always tried to be an ally of the LGB community and I see erasure.
If there was any research allowed would it show a drop in LGB kids that matches the rise in trans kids?
I realise there's a whole host of things in play here but I am genuinely concerned.

KatVonGulag · 07/11/2018 07:00

Interestingly I used to listen to Erasure as a teen.

I need to re-evaluate my hetroness.... clearly

R0wantrees · 07/11/2018 07:19

Surveys now make any such research difficult as questions would be framed as whether they identify as LGBTQ+ / Queer etc

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 07/11/2018 07:55

THey need to drop the T and just be LGB.

They need to be honest that they have dropped the L and now support only T and G.

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 07/11/2018 08:16

And I'm not even sure how far they support the G.

BeyondVicious · 07/11/2018 08:19

Yeah the gay men posting on the thread don’t seem any more happy about stonewalls new direction than the women!

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 07/11/2018 08:26

Hopefully that means they're recognising the homophobia!

Datun · 07/11/2018 08:28

Yeah the gay men posting on the thread don’t seem any more happy about stonewalls new direction than the women!

Stonewall standing primarily for a minority of domineering, demanding, boundary violating, homophobic, heterosexual men doesn't seem to be going down too well.

What were they thinking? I mean, can't they count?

Badstyley · 07/11/2018 08:34

I find this difficult to talk about because I feel so bloody angry and betrayed. Stonewall need taking down. I’m glad I managed to kick my way out of the closet when I did, six years ago, because I don’t know if I’d be able to do it now. I came out off the back of an aabusive marriage to a man. God knows what I’d be told or where I’d go for support nowadays. There was precious little enough available for lesbians back then. I don’t know of any female only lesbian groups in my area, and the trans narrative has been well and truly swallowed. I’ve even aasked around the underground GC womens’ groups and nobody else knows of anything either. Me and a friend are trying to set something up but all the lesbians are either dripping with inclusive nonsense or they’re hiding. It’s so sad, especially for women who are just coming out.

Or they are men.

Datun · 07/11/2018 08:37

but all the lesbians are either dripping with inclusive nonsense

I honestly don't get this. Does it actually extend to intimacy?

VickyEadie · 07/11/2018 08:40

Nor do I. It's (frankly) bizarre, self-destructive behaviour.

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 07/11/2018 09:12

I don't know about most lesbians but nowadays 'LGBT' & the rainbow are poison as far as I'm concerned. I have nothing to do with the scene or the community, I just meet up with friends. I doubt I'm the only one.

Badstyley, I'm so sorry Sad. It was so different when I came out back in the late 90s. Maybe if you contacted the Lesbian Rights Alliance on Facebook?

Badstyley · 07/11/2018 09:29

Yes, I’m part of the LRA group on FB. We advertised the local lesbian group we’re trying to set up on there. So far we’ve had a total of two requests, one from California and one person who didn’t message first as requested, so I’ve added neither.

God knows whether the ‘lesbians’ in the groups around here extend their inclusivity to the bedroom, does it even matter? I’m not going to lesbian events to encounter men, let alone be harangued by them for sex. They can shag who they like as far as I’m concerned, but they can’t appropriate lesbianism on behalf of men, and they can’t take up lesbian spaces and bully anyone who disagrees with them. The local Pride group post trans this and trans that all over FB, and they reposted Transwall’s statement calling Get The L Out hateful bigots, so they’ve made their position perfectly clear. They can fuck off as well.

Datun · 07/11/2018 09:44

Well yes. It's because I'm wondering whether or not these lesbians are actually bisexual. Or whether they are really lesbians who are being, well raped.

Badstyley · 07/11/2018 09:58

It’s not a question I can answer. Having a conversation with any of them is like banging your head against a brick wall, and it’s not my job to ride in and save them. They’re adults, what they do is their business, and if none of them are saying this is happening then it looks a bit unhinged to start telling them that it is. People can shag who they like, but they shouldn’t be steeling other people’s spaces and support networks, it’s that simple really. They have welcomed these men into the groups, and bullied anyone who even so much as whimpers in disagreement. They are responsible for this, so I Blame them.

Well yes. And I don't blame you!

And it does sound as though they are perhaps more bisexual than anything else.

But I do worry about young women who have been brainwashed.

I've read narratives from lesbians who submitted to sex with transwomen, and who suffered trauma as a result.

I wish there was a way of telling whether they were being brittle and putting on a brave face, or had truly drunk the Kool-Aid and felt okay about it.

I agree, it doesn't help you, at all, though.
