As I mixed-race woman, I am really insulted by this idiot comparing their trampling of women’s rights to the battles faced by black sportspeople. It’s fucking rude.

These white middle class male people have been so insulated by their privilege from the faintest clue what life has been like for less privileged groups that they genuinely can't see how offensive they are being.

They tend also to be the ones telling women to 'check their privilege' when complaining that they can't menstruate...

Check out @rachelvmckinnon’s Tweet: twitter.com/rachelvmckinnon/status/1053080145832144896?s=09 read this egotistical thread and compare to the comment in the mail:

'No one is a transgender to steal anyone's medal,' van Herrikhuyzen wrote. 'We had an honest race under UCI rules. If you compete you accept the rules, otherwise, don't compete

This is not good news for women cyclists

USA Cycling

Well they won’t have many women at the elite level for much longer will they ?

I showed my dh the photograph and he also said that it's a bloke and he's a cheater. Also, his place is meaningless and the woman who came 'second' is the winner. He said only men who can't succeed in their own category would do something like this and it's rather cowardly.

Ds1 who is 14, aspergers and educated at home refused point blank to believe that any of this could happen. I haven't showed him the photo yet, but he's super logical and he'll probably be infuriated by it. I'm glad he's not in a conventional school tbh. We get to avoid all this pc nonsense and both dc have been raised to be critical thinkers.

I have been told by a friend that McKinnon was absolutely slated on a couple of cycling websites. Mainly by men, saying they were a cheat and a fraud.

USA Cycling is committed to creating an environment where our members have equal opportunity to participate in bicycle racing without discrimination.

If they truly mean without discrimination then they can have no sex/ gender segregation at all. There is no sense or legitimacy in segregating by gender feelings. It is biological sex as a category or nothing.

If a transwoman is a woman then a motorcycle is a cycle - so even the odds next time by matching testosterone with petrol.
