If the consultation results in self ID rules being relaxed...

Heya, it's thanks to this forum that I became at all aware of self ID and it's risks and thus the consultation which I have most definitely filled in!

Up until reading about the importance of sex segregated areas for women, I have to admit that I'd never really considered the fact that toilets and changing rooms are actually safe spaces. To lose them being predominantly for natal females would, on a subconscious level at least, actually make me feel less safe.

So if the self ID criteria does get relaxed would it be feasible to follow it as far as it goes? Man Friday again but on a much larger scale? I definitely don't think men have been as affected YET but I think they would be GC as hell if for example, they realised that by refusing to date a transwoman they are committing a hate crime (I think I'm following the 'cotton ceiling' to its logical counterpart). Going on what happened when Man Friday highlighted the Hampstead Ponds issue, I genuinely think that men would be very unhappy with obvious women in their safe spaces. And would probably be less likely to be attacked online and shut down in public when they are vocal in their displeasure.

If enough of us did it and identified as men to highlight the issue, could it have an effect? I'm sure it was someone on here who introduced me to the quote:
"The best way to get a bad law repealed is to enforce it strictly".

Unfortunately men are more violent than women, so the women who did that would be taking quite a risk - the same reason why we don't want men in women's spaces.

Sorry, a bit inarticulate, the coffee hasn't reached my brain yet

YesItsADebate · 19/10/2018 07:18

Definitely on the cards but it’s far harder to get a bad law repealed than to stop it being passed in the first place.

Uterusowner · 19/10/2018 07:18

I'd like to see the economy hit when women stop using changing rooms and do all our clothes shopping online affecting the High streets, pubs losing half their clientele because the women's toilets are no go areas Etc.

HOWEVER this would affect women the most as they'll be the majority of staff so we can't win whatever we do.

Bespin · 19/10/2018 07:21

what ever happened to man Friday? did that woman ever Chanfe her driving licence back, someone said she got talked to by the police.

IAmAHomewardBounder · 19/10/2018 07:24

I agree but if we chose our areas carefully and did it in groups? I wouldn't want to go it on my own but if there were a few of us I would be prepared to take the risk. I doubt we'd have to do it too many times before men started (hopefully) appreciating the unintended consequences.
I'm not at full caffeine capacity yet either. You were fine though, think I might be a bit garbled!

If an unsuitable law gets passed, it is up to us to highlight problems, and the unfortunate victims.

Bespin · 19/10/2018 07:29

Well what happened did she change the license back proving how easy it really is to change gender. today would be a brilliant day to prove it it is Friday after all.

IAmAHomewardBounder · 19/10/2018 07:30

I don't think the license changing has anything to do with what I'm asking? Maybe you could try Google?

OP posts:
SwearyG · 19/10/2018 07:33

If you’d been paying attention you’d know the answer to that. But as you’re asking you’re clearly just trying to stir up trouble. So I’m not going to indulge you by doing the work for you. The answers are all out there. Go find them yourself, lazy.

Bespin · 19/10/2018 07:34

I've tried Google it didn't bring anything up in fact there as never been another mention of it. your post talks a lot about man Friday. also I beleive Hampstead Ponds are still inclusive to all too. same with youth hostiles and strangly the sleeker train.

Bespin · 19/10/2018 07:35

no they are not out there if the person was able to easily change it back you would have posted it everywhere you didn't in fact people have asked a number if times and silence

AngryAttackKittens · 19/10/2018 07:36

"Youth hostiles" is the best Freudian slip I've ever seen.

SwearyG · 19/10/2018 07:37

Sorry Homeward I’ll stop derailing. I’m up for pissing all the men off if this does get enshrined in law. Lord knows they don’t like it. The fury we face when we ManFriday is something I’ve never seen before. That they called the police at Hampstead Ponds (yet the women who complained were told to put up with men in the ladies pond) speaks volumes about how they view self ID.

Interestingly wherever we go we’re shouted at that Transwomen are Women, yet there I am as a transman and all I get is abuse and vitriol.

And before someone says I’m not a man I am just as much of a man as Pips fucking Bunce is a woman. He wins awards. I am threatened with arrest. Why is that?

SwearyG · 19/10/2018 07:37

All on twitter you liar, Bespin.

Bespin · 19/10/2018 07:42

hi sorry just checked the account and blog thing no mention of what happened when they changed it back I'm sorry if I've missed it happy to apologise if it's there and I didn't see it.

SwearyG · 19/10/2018 07:44

Clearly nothing happened Bespin. They changed it back.

Anyway, as for your crowing list you might want to not count your chickens. I certainly am not.

AngryAttackKittens · 19/10/2018 07:45

Give it up, Bespin, nobody is buying it.

If men think that self-ID is just dandy then I say we aim directly at the exclusive private clubs, and the Masons. Don't want women in your nice cosy club? Too bad, because I'm a man on alternate Tuesdays now.

AngryAttackKittens · 19/10/2018 07:46

My dad is a Mason, and pretty disgusted with the shit TRAs have been pulling. I wonder if I could get him to sneak me in.

Bespin · 19/10/2018 07:48

ah sorry found it you said it had changed back no post of licence or big blog showing any evidence it had. you just said it happened. Well we should never just take something as true because they say something should we now

SwearyG · 19/10/2018 07:51

Do it AAK. I think that anywhere we can push at this the better. Government don’t stop listening tonight at 11. There is still much work to do.

IAmAHomewardBounder · 19/10/2018 07:58

I mentioned Man Friday and Hampstead Ponds as it demonstrates that the men didn't like it, or have to put up with it when it impacted them. I don't feel like a license was the important part of the event to be honest. The police being called stuck out to me more.

I have the Freemasons application form ready to go. Can’t wait for my introductory tour!

Enough men know what they are doing, these are the same type of men who always pretend to be clueless for as long as possible, thereby prolonging whatever current injustice for women is going round. And only shape up when too many women for them to ignore, put their foot down.

This is never ending misogyny and I want crone island.
