Question on the GRA consultation.

OP posts:

And here’s the thing - if feelings are what dictate matters now, why don’t mine count?
I think we know the answer to that don’t we

deepwatersolo · 19/10/2018 07:02

orange saying that ‚female‘ is not clearly defined erases me. This is literal violence. My existence is not up for debate......
It is really funny how, indeed, all the shit the AWA-TRAs accuse you of are in fact admissions of their own behaviour.

HandsOffMyRights · 19/10/2018 07:03

I missed this and will catch up, but another box ticking exercise.

4 GC BBC pieces on the penultimate day plus Woman's Hour? Apart from sneaking it in the night before, I don't buy it.

The BBC has purposely orchestrated this so it can say it offered debate pre GRA completion.

It's premeditated. The BBC does think about this topic - it's watched, planned and then gone in for the kill. This is disturbing as it shows the level at which the organisation hates women and the lengths it is going to to control the narrative. With my bloody license fee!

Dragon3 · 19/10/2018 07:17

Oh god Bumbrainius, that is sickening. Sickening. Why anyone would want to deny the material reality of bio sex is beyond me.

BumbrainusMaximus · 19/10/2018 07:20

I know why.
Because they hate women, they resent the advances we have made, we’ve had it too good for too long. Stop showing us the evidence of what you suffer as a class, women, because then we won’t feel bad about ignoring it. If you don’t exist you can’t make demands for change.
It’s misogyny that hasn’t the courage to recognise itself for what it is.

ToeToToe · 19/10/2018 07:28

I missed this and will catch up, but another box ticking exercise.

It was worse than that - I'd wager that this question was completely staged. The questioner was asked her opinion and talked for ages - really setting the scene for "oh you silly women, there's nothing to fear" responses.

Then, a late transitioning transwoman in the audience giving their life story. Then a couple of beardy dude-bros saying how their heart breaks for trans people - practically rending their clothes in their distress. No heart break for Karen White's victims though, because meh, they're just women - collateral damage for the men who want to be women - who we must be heartbroken for.

Keir Starmer was actually pretty brave - he totally bucked the party line by not simply chanting TWAW.

GC Economist woman was excellent.

ToeToToe · 19/10/2018 07:29

R4 Today currently grooming the nation by interviewing Rachel MacKinnon. On right now.

BumbrainusMaximus · 19/10/2018 07:36

Back in your box, women.
Same shit different day.

Dragon3 · 19/10/2018 07:38

Because they hate women, they resent the advances we have made

Bumbrainius until recently I would have thought that this was going a bit far. But some activists demonstrate this very well.

JuneOsbourne · 19/10/2018 07:56

A true definition of female cannot be simplistic and must be inclusive of all females.

I am happy to be inclusive of all females. This does not include males.

You need to be lobbying men to be inclusive of all males.

ToeToToe · 19/10/2018 07:59

I've had a theory for a while that this gender movement is all about misogynist men trying to reverse the gains of second wave feminism.

Add online porn (also v misogynist) into the mix - and you will see that middle aged men with AGP are using this gender movement in order to normalise and express their paraphilias. They are validating this by encouraging the transition of children - because this validates them. This "proves" that they really are trans, trans is a thing, and they're not really just men expressing a sexual fetish. They are using the laws put into place for people suffering genuine gender dysphoria (which is rare - the law was put into place for the around 5000 genuine cases) to access women's spaces, to be women, because they get a thrill out of it.

There are some v dark areas of the internet - some of which I have seen researchhing this topic (prob not even the worst) - but it's public, it's on twitter, it's on the free porn channels. #transgirls, trans porn, sissies, furries, adult babies. All being normalised, all freely available for anyone to view. Not even banned from Twitter.

Young people are very very impressionable - they absorb this stuff. The massive increase in young women transitioning = trying to escape the sex role stereotypes being enforced on women, the sexualisation of women and young girls. Sex roles seemed to be more defined than ever - woman = pink, man = blue.

Nicknamesalltaken · 19/10/2018 08:43

I agree Toe. Smacks of internet grooming.

It will play out but not for another decade or so and irreversible damage will have been done, and young women will be harmed in the meantime.

If gender is so innate, where are all the middle aged women transitioning?

Avegemitesandwich · 19/10/2018 08:47

When I think of that dump of tiny bodies, the rage I feel towards these narcissistic entitled cunts who want to tell me that women is whatever we feels it is is boundless.

God, I feel you.

I watched some bullshit film on the pink news FB page the other day about a child who had transitioned and it was all casual 'what even is a girl anyway' and I just got the absolute rage!

Fuck them.

Avegemitesandwich · 19/10/2018 08:50

Trans women are women. Trans women are adult human females.

Nope. No no no no no no no no no no no.

I'm not even going to bother engaging with you because you are obviously just a plopper. But..... No.

I'm so tired of this shite this morning.

Ereshkigal · 19/10/2018 08:51

Those girls with shiny faces remind me of the Hitler Youth. They'd turn in their own mothers for refusing to accept that men are women.

Oh yes.

Nicknamesalltaken · 19/10/2018 09:09

It’s all fucking indulgent first world identity politics.

Lol I must have missed it where they actually gave a male the ability to produce ova.

BumbrainusMaximus · 19/10/2018 12:36

Yeah what is so special about us. We’re all just non-men, right? Lump us altogether.
And that means all the real men don’t have to be made to feel bad about discrimination against women anymore. Win win.

ElanoraHeights · 19/10/2018 12:54

BumbrainusMaximus

Yes - well said. Your post above about female infanticide in Pakistan is one of the many reasons why I don't have any truck with trans ideology. When I heard trans women complaining that referring to FGM was 'transphobic' some time ago, I lost my patience completely. It's such a privilege to be subject to FGM, bride burning, female infanticide.

I saw a film recently about a new born baby in India who was rescued from a drain where she had been abandoned after being born. It's this kind of treatment that makes a mockery of the whole trans idea. That baby could grow up to identify as male but that means nothing because she was abandoned because of her biological sex.

According to TRAs, these women and girls (and babies) could all 'identify as men' but it would make no difference to their oppression. I saw a great cartoon of women in the Handmaid's Tale costume saying 'but I told them I identified as a man!'

As an aside, I am a bit confused today because one of my feminist sheroes seems to be on the side of the TRAs. It's thrown me completely and it made me question whether I'm on the wrong side of history. But I know deep down that I am and it's the rest of the world that has gone mad.

BumbrainusMaximus · 19/10/2018 13:16

It’s not quite all the rest of the world.
I retain some faith that a lot of the acceptance of the trans ideology comes about because people don’t think through the consequences of their positions logically. TWAW sounds nice; but if you say to most people who agree with that does that mean you’re ok with all the places on an all women’s shortlist being taken by people who are chromosomally male, you’ll see a much greater diversity of opinion.

ElanoraHeights · 19/10/2018 13:22

Yes, you're right - I think that actually a lot of people do have concerns about the transgender movement. (I was being lazy and typing out a message while hoping no-one sees my screen in our open plan office.) It's probably just that TRAs are shouting about it and have managed to convince a lot of people who are on social media of their cause. Outside of the social media world, I suspect most people would not be sympathetic to the claims of TRAs.

Waterparc · 19/10/2018 13:54

“all those bloody men on the panel who just couldn't help but marvel at the indescribable pain of someone actually choosing to be one of those lowly women types.”

Yep...

Petillant · 19/10/2018 14:04

Orange Nail,

Human beings cannot change sex. Sex is observed at birth. I won’t use the word ‘trans’ because human beings cannot transition from one sex to another. Men who say they are women are not women.

You know all this. If you don’t, you have problems. I don’t care of you have problems.
Now go away.

Petillant · 19/10/2018 14:05
