I saw Prior arguing with a black male Twitter user the other day. Prior claimed that second wave feminism was basically racist , while the other poster disagreed. Prior told the other poster that he didn't know what he was talking about; essentially, Prior was invalidating the other person's experiences. I wish I could have reminded Prior:
You don't know what it's like to be a black man.
You don't know what it's like to be a woman.
All you know is what it's like to be as white transwoman (and even then, a white transwoman living in very specific circumstances).
Your views on feminism are inevitably shaped by the fact you are a transwoman. That doesn't mean your interpretation of feminism is the only valid one. Far from it, in fact. Your understanding of feminism is likely to distort it from its real purpose - helping women.
I hope Prior reads this because Prior needs to be told these things.
